Conditions were top tier and pace of place was excellent, we made 18 in just under 4 hours. From check-in to cart return everything was top tier. I had forgotten how much I liked the course, though it is about an hour drive from my home in Fort Mill. The Staff was great from Michel in the Pro Shop to Tom the starter. It was a hot July day but it was nice to have the beverage cart making regular rounds though out our 18 holes. The greens for the most part were good, just a few show wear from the extreme heat and lack of water. Tee boxes, fairways and bunkers everything was great. We made a quick turn for some food and we were back on track. One of the biggest changes from my last visit are the Top Tracer bays on the driving range, such a great addition!

The clubhouse does not honor the price of tee times that are reserved online. They forced us to pay…read morea much higher rate in the clubhouse that was over $20 more per person than what we booked on their website. If your website is wrong, then you should give the benefit of the doubt to your customer and let them have that price. Completely unprofessional and just bad business to do what they did here. I even showed the pro shop the email and booking confirmation I received. Imagine booking an air bnb for a certain price online and then when you show up they bump up the price by $100. You're already there and committed, so they know you aren't just gonna leave. Shame on them.

Played this course with a group of 8 on 2/26/24. February…read moregolf in these parts can be a roll of the dice. We came up with a winning roll on a Monday with 71 degrees and sunny! This course is #3 on the B-Man's guide to the top 10 Charlotte area golf courses. It's a good course but a #3 seems overrated to me. Understanding it's February so granted, not ideal conditions. Still a problem when you have more than half an entire green surface under repair. You get only one Par 3 on the front and two on the back. The fairways are wide open and forgiving. The tee boxes all in good repair. You get the computerized electric golf carts. The check-in and Staff was smooth and everyone was nice. The bar/restaurant experience was good. As a Senior golfer, you get considerable tee advantage on most all of the holes. There is water but it doesn't come into play. They had patrolling Ranger maintaining pace of play. It is literally right adjacent to the Speedway. On several holes, you can see the Grandstands. I think you want to avoid this place on race day.

My husbands got there and they couldn't find his appointment in the system for that day. The staff was very corteus and apologized for the inconvenience.Hubby scheduled an appointment with Dough for the week after. His initial lesson was for an hour. Doug gave my husband practical advide about his golfing technique: posture,swing,golf clubs etc... He has been there two more times and every single time comes home raving about the experience. Doug Spencer spent some time first focusing on those things/issues that were unique to her and her body measurements. He quickly figured out how she's wired and adapted his instruction to fit her learning style. The results are profound. Her confidence has increased, her overall fitness has improved, and the quality of her play is very different now. Her yardages have increased around 20% across the board and she couldn't be happier with what she's accomplished. One word of caution if you're a parent seeking this level of instruction: Your golfer has to do the work to make it work. The drills and swing adjustments that will be assigned may not always make sense at the time, but in the long run, it will all fall into place. You have to trust in the process and let it play out.

Course was designed in the '70s, and most of the buildings and Clubhouse are from that decade. Course gets a lot of usage probably because of it accessibility it's right on the edge of Salisbury. Also has quite a varied amount of golfers. I mean, the young guns come here from high school, the after work get-together guys, walkers, fitness golfers, and just below average and practice golfers. Can get very crowded even during the week. Weekends are totally ludicrous. This can get rough because the holes are so close that they make for a long nine-hole or eighteen outing. Blue and white tees are very close. I used to recommend the blue over the white because of less usage. I think that ship is sailed now. The white tees have less usage. Good greens and always a good pro-shop friendly staff in the shop. Always has a steady pace of people here, especially when the weather is good. It's a good tip if it's cloudy and not raining, but it looks like rain. These are pretty fair weather golfers here. So if you don't mind a little moisture, that's when to come here when the weather is not so perfect. Has a group of regulars that have a mini tournament every morning. Usually, they tee off by 10:30 a.m. Unfortunately, a lot of foursomes tend to come here and can make for a rough day if they don't let you pass through. Sometimes, you may have to golf around and come back to holes. To avoid them. I have seen them sometimes in the clubhouse settling up their score. I think they play anywhere from$1 to $5 a hole the way they go at it. You would think it was the Masters. They usually get gone by the hottest time of the day which 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. I believe this course is hard to play late because they want the golf carts in by 7:30 p.m. However if you start at 4:00 it's pretty easy to finish if you go at a steady pace 18. Friday's is their busiest day during the week of the summer. That changes a little when school starts back. I definitely know it's easy to do nine in about an hour and 35 minutes. Will definitely need at least 2 hours to do 18 holes of golf. A good, no frills golf course.

I've accompanied a member here twice now and wish we had something similar to this closer to Charlotte. First things first: For all intents and purposes, this is a private club. You either need to be a member or be with a member at all times while you're here. They recently installed a fence at the entrance that you have to either swipe a pass or enter a code to for entry, but on the weekends it's typically open, with the "Members Only" signs posted beside the gate. As far as the range, it's the best-case scenario. They have a 200 Yard rifle range and 21 pistol bays (split between large and small pistol, with some bays outfitted with steel plates and others where you mount paper targets). There is no Range Safety Officer present, hence why prior approval is not only required, it's a necessity. You (or the member that brought you) are responsible for your safety and treating your guns safely. That being said, for those comfortable and experienced with guns and gun safety, shooting outdoors without a third party looking over your shoulder is much more relaxing. New membership is limited, and from their website it looks like they're at full capacity, as the number of new members is based on current members that fail to renew. Keep this in mind that you'll be on a wait list if you do want to apply for membership. While I can't get up here all the time due to the distance (and the fact that I have to rely on a friend whose dad is a member to gain entry), I always enjoy my time up here.

It's a private club (my father has been a member for the better part of ten years) so the first thing you notice is the gate out front of the entrance. You need a badge to get in most days so it keeps random folks from just walking in and horsing around a gun range. Next thing up the drive is the fishing pond. Really lake would be a better descriptor, there's tons of shoreline to stand on and cast off. Follow the road a little further and to your left is the archery range and one set of the pistol ranges. I haven't personally used the archery range but the pistol stalls are quite nice. Six for paper targets only and two on the end with steel target plates, all with a nice wooden benches/tables. Opposite side of the road are the skeet shooting stations. Wednesday seems to be the popular day to go shoot clay pigeons. Continuing down the road the clubhouse is on the right, rifle range on the left. Rifle range consists of maybe a dozen different bays varying at ranges of 50, 100, and 200 yards. Beyond that and all the way down the left side of the road are more than a dozen additional pistol ranges. The place always seems well maintained and I've never had a problem with the staff or other members. Look them up if your trying to find a great place for some outdoorsy fun.

There is a batting cage, picnic shelters with grills and a playground with a soft rubbery base. I really liked the walking trail here. Just under half a mile and paved. Nice.
