The drinks were really good and the bartenders were super friendly! The food, is just snacks so you may want to eat somewhere before that, definitely more of a cocktail experience. They also have a small Photo Booth tucked away in the corner that's free and will text you the photos so make sure to check that out! Overall, will visit again.

I highly recommend the "Bartender's Choice" cocktail option--the staff is incredibly skilled, and the drinks they crafted were awesome. However, management needs to fix their highly deceptive checkout flow. The bar chooses not to bake Tennessee's mandatory 15% Liquor-by-the-Drink tax into their menu prices. When the bartender flips the POS tablet to pay, the system completely hides the itemized receipt. It jumps straight to a final total that includes a combined 24.25% in state and liquor taxes. To make matters worse, the screen presents ridiculous suggested tip options of 20%, 30%, and 40%--which are calculated on top of that heavily taxed final total rather than the subtotal. If you just tap a prompt, you end up aggressively tipping on hidden taxes. Come for the excellent cocktails and great bartenders, but ignore the suggested buttons and manually calculate your tip based on the actual menu price of your drinks.

Angelie's - Grinder sandwich with fresh chips, excellent!!

What a great addition to the area's dining experience! We…read moreintentionally went on an off time to be able to linger over our choices. We started with a couple of cocktails with him choosing a house specialty. It was really tasty but due to the Baileys in it, it should have been listed in the after dinner offerings. The last swallow was left in the glass as it was heavily dusted with cinnamon. We both would enjoy it with dessert and I definitely want one for myself next time. My Cosmos was probably one of the best I've had in the area. It wasnt overly tart so you could actually taste the cranberry yet the vodka wasn't covered up. We chose the appetizer platter which is served in a cute little rotating basket with the dips in cups attached to it all. The cauliflower bites had a standard flour breading which was fine for dipping in ranch dressing. The fried zucchini was excellent as there were some great herbs in the breading which complemented the marinara sauce. However, the salted pretzel bites were disappointing as there was an under taste of scorched oil or bread to them. Not something I would order again but we used the cheese sauce which worked really well with the cauliflower bites. I ordered the sliders with sweet potato fries as my entree. The fries were long cuts and extra crispy as they were most likely dusted with cornflour before frying. I really liked these fries and wouldn't hesitate to order them again. The sliders had a good flavor but were a bit tough being very lean. I would suggest they be served with a bacon jam or a tasty aioli as they were served plain with lettuce, tomato, and pickle which prompted me to request mayo. He ordered the salmon which was amazing. The only thing I would change is to add a little more aioli to the serving as that enhanced the herbed salmon so very well. The asparagus was a perfect al dente but the tips were slightly overdone and a tiny bit crunchy. Still, we prefer an al dente vegetable rather that mush. The mashed potatoes were an interesting taste, one can smell a touch of garlic but it doesn't overwhelm the dish which is a standard mistake chefs make. The faint garlic and other seasoning made for an enjoyable dish. The service was friendly and prompt as they weren't busy. Veronica was knowledgeable about the menu and very attentive. We definitely want to return and taste more menu items and I thoroughly regret not getting pics of their cocktail menu as there are some interesting looking concoctions on it. So, if you are looking for a new and worthwhile dining experience, try Angelie's and you won't regret it.

While the service was a bit slow, the food was fantastic and worth the little extra wait times. I had the Grinder sandwich with fresh, cut in-house potato chips and my beautiful wife got the cheeseburger with thick curly fries. Everything was really delicious and priced right, too. The staff was very friendly, the ambiance was intimate and inviting. As always the test is; will we be back? Absolutely we will, it's probably the best restaurant in Sparta!

This pains me! I was so excited to try this place. Cookeville needs a nice cocktail place, and 1854…read morehas great potential. But it's not there yet. To be fair, this review is only for NYE. I would not recommend this place for NYE. They had an extremely limited menu that was not published beforehand. If it had been, we wouldn't have gone. There were several gin drinks, one bourbon, and one mocktail you could add vodka to. That's all. You couldn't order any other drinks. We hate gin. So we stuck with the bourbon cocktail. It was 0% consistent. They said it was a batch, but every drink we had tasted different. Maybe the mix wasn't mixed well. Not the end of the world. It was still a decent drink. What was terrible is that only half way through service they ran out of the drink and would not make more. They said they were saving the rest for the next seating. So we were left with no drink options we liked. That's a big deal when you've *bought tickets* to be there. So we paid to be at a bar where we weren't given access to anything we liked and weren't told this would be the case when we bought the tickets. You have a whole bar there. Come up with another drink on the fly to replace the one you're out of. After several people complained, the bartenders said they would pour bourbon neat or on the rocks. Yeah, I can do that at home for free. If you are going to make people pay for access to an extremely limited menu make sure you don't run out of the key ingredients. The snacks were good and decently plentiful, but they weren't worth the ticket price (sushi that was not on ice, cheese, meat, fruit, crackers, deviled eggs, cookies) Would I come back? I'd like to give it another try only because Cookeville needs a place like this. If this was in another city, I wouldn't be back.

This is such a unique and niche thing for Murfreesboro, it's hard to nail down an all-inclusive…read morereview. For starters, the location is down an alley way, hidden off the main area of the Square in the Boro. To get to the speakeasy, you have to find the door, use the phone, and answer a riddle to speak the 'password' to get in. Neat concept and adds to the fun of the overall experience. The cons: - A cover charge - and a healthy one, at that. - Every cocktail, small plate/appetizer, dish, dessert, etc. is on the very high end of price points, and that's even for a Nashville spot - not even considering this as a niche location in the burbs. - For the prices, exceptionally small portions/servings of the food options. We left paying over $150 for our evening and both my wife and I were still hungry... The pros: - Service was fantastic. Extremely friendly from the owner to the bartenders to the servers. No complaints there at all. - My wife took me for my 40th birthday, and they helped significantly make it a special celebration while we were there. A special dessert with "4-0" candles, a rousing musician-led, crowd-involved rendition of "happy birthday" was sung in my honor, and overall just a very enjoyable experience. - Atmosphere was fun and inviting without being too much/stuffy. - The interior of the speakeasy is opulent, small, and cozy, featuring enough room for probably no more than 20-25 people total. - The drinks were very, very good. Overpriced, sure - but at least they were well made and tasty. - The food was absolutely fantastic. Great flavors and seemingly fresh, quality ingredients - well prepared. Overall, a very neat, fun, well thought out experience and something to say we've done - BUT unfortunately with the cover charge, pricing of the individual drinks, food items, etc., it prices us out of frequent enjoyment. We would go with a small group for kicks, but will likely not return otherwise, which is a shame.
