A most pleasant experience! My washer recently died, and after looking at the cost of purchasing a new one, I decided to stop in at Mullen's to see what they had available.
I was greeted by Cherie, a most personable and knowledgeable individual, and she discussed with me the pros and cons of buying new vs. used washers. I decided that used would be the way to go.
She had just gotten a machine in, and said that she would thoroughly test it, and if it met her approval, I could purchase it and have it delivered the next day! She called later that day to say that we were "good to go" and that it would be delivered at 10 the next morning.
Promptly at 10 the next day, the machine was delivered, installed, and my old machine taken away . . . all that for only $50 additional. The two young delivery men were extremely prompt, professional and polite. I was more than impressed with the care they took in moving the machines through my home and the expert manner in which they installed the "new" machine.
By the way . . . the machine cost a very low $200, versus a new one with starting prices of $500 . . . so for $250 I was all set and it all happened in less than a day.
Cherie did an amazing job of cleaning it and it looks like new! I gave it a test run today it performed to perfection.
I very much like keeping my money local and prefer not to deal with "big box" retailers. From start to finish, Mullen's proved to be a fine locally owned, independent business that does things the old-fashioned way with an eye towards a knowledgeable staff, quality products and first-rate customer service. When my old dryer goes I know where I will head for a "new" one. read more
