Where does one start? After the World Championship Steak Cook-Off on 3/16/2026 that's been in Magnolia for over 30years, we decided to have pizza for an after Cookoff dinner. From sitting down to the moment our group of 6 was kicked out by the owner, the service and overall ambiance was not right. For starters the waitress struggled with taking orders for our table. A robot brought us part of our order and a human never acknowledged that part of the order was missing. Human missed request that had to be repeated, human missed drink orders and made excuses to why they weren't timely. When bringing requested extra plates to the table there was a greasy substance still on the plate. Though other tables received their drinks that arrived after us, it just didn't seem right. Let's go further , the food was received cold and not warm to touch. The drinks never arrived and waitress never noticed , though we pointed out to her and others. Well after requesting a box for leftovers , that was hard to get from the waitress. It was almost comical that nearly every aspect of this visit was a terrible experience. We were from out of town and shocked a business could run as this was. We asked for the manager and was told she was on Vacation. Then told the owner was coming over from another restaurant they own. WHAT?! NO WAY two restaurants, they can't be managed the same and survived. Well we had a discussion with Bert and he asked where we were from, told us how busy they are. PSA: we were the second group of people in the restaurant at 9:15. The city of Magnolia has had this Cookoff for over 30years. I would think he should've prepared differently. Bert then told us..."I don't appreciate your Sh!@y attitude" "yall need to leave and don't worry about paying for the meal". Well our group dispersed and was soon to leave . I had more questions for Bert. I confronted him over the counter, before I could get a word out he said " I'm done get the Fu&? out of my restaurant and never come back, I don't want to see any of you ever again in MY restaurants. " then he proceeded to say, if you don't get the Fu&? Off my property I'll call the cops" This was in ear shot of our group and others at the restaurant. Well here we are, a very dysfunctional staff and owner and clearly not a fan of calm constructive criticism. Sorry Bert, and he should never act that way in front of our group and especially our wives. Do so much better Mule Kick! read more

What a fun and enjoyable surprise! This little gem in Magnolia, AR is cozy, lively, and fun--yet still manages to be calming and relaxing at the same time. The owner, Christy, and her staff are incredibly attentive without ever being smothering. I instantly fell in love with the vibe of both the environment and the team. I tried a blueberry vodka mule that Christy created on the spot, and it was yummy x 10! Paired with my Rueben calzone, I also had a beer flight that Christy put together for me after just a couple of quick questions. She was spot on--I enjoyed every single one. And that Rueben calzone? Absolutely divine! If you're a Rueben fan, it's a must-try. The decor is adorable as well! After several positive visits to MuleKick, we had likely the worst experience ever. In addition to our server's unfamiliarity with the cocktail menu, she was unable to keep our table's water glasses full, she missed a meal when it was time to serve, and the plates she provided were not clean. After politely trying to get each of these resolved, we ultimately asked for a manager. Since their manager was on vacation on the busiest weekend of their year, the owner had to drive over from their other location. When our issues were discussed, we asked for the check so we could leave. Burt went to the back for a few minutes, told us he'd covered our tab for the night, and told us to take our attitudes elsewhere and never visit either of his establishments ever again. I know Burt thinks that he banned a table full of out of towners who were never planning to come back, but he's wrong. We frequently made the drive to both Mule Kick and Lefty's to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. That is not the quality of service I've come to expect from either restaurant, and certainly not the kind of service that the city should be displaying during blossom fest. read more

It's got a full bar, and they host game nights that add to the fun atmosphere. The service was excellent--super friendly and attentive. I went for the veggie pizza, and it hit the spot. Mule Kick is a MUST in Magnolia! It all started with our waitress, Shelby - she was so attentive and gave excellent recommendations on food choices. We had the loaded potato skin appetizer with jerk chicken in it...amazing flavor. For dinner, we shared the meat lovers pizza and it was delicious. Hand tossed crust is nice and chewy. Dessert was the chocolate mess which is a brownie with cheesecake filling covered in whipped cream and drizzled with chocolate sauce. That disappeared fast lol! All of the food was tasty. The atmosphere is fun and casual. Great place to kick back and have good food. Since we're new in town, Shelby was so helpful in giving us a quick rundown on the area. Thank you Shelby! read more

This funny-named place is a restaurant but also a coffee shop and really just caters to many different folks.. I visited for dinner one evening since it's open late...they also have a drive-thru which seems to be pretty popular in this town. I didn't find a brown ale on their board of many beers on tap (27 to be exact, with 2 ciders and a root beer), so I just ordered an Abita root beer on draft. Although a lot of the pizza looked good, especially the barn burner and the potato pizza, I opted for the wings and chose their most popular flavor...the gochujang. Their wings were really tasty, and I would definitely pay this establishment another visit the next time I happen to be in town. read more

Great spot and very fun atmosphere. Everyone here was absolutely great, super nice and welcoming. The food and drinks are wonderful! We even got to talk to the owner. She was super friendly and came to check on us several times. You don't see owners doing that very often. Been wanting to try this place since moved close to the area. We love a great go to pizza joint and was hoping this would be it. Went for a late lunch so we missed the lunch crowd. We were almost the only ones in the place. Super cool ambience. Decor and vibe was exactly what we love to see and feel in a place. Decided to sit at the bar and try a couple of local breweries. Tried the Rockhound ipa and the Peace pipe ipa. Rockhound was better. Staff was very friendly and attentive but we were the only ones for the most part. Bathroom was very cool, I loved the full length mirror. The whole place had exactly the cool vibe you'd expect from a college town. Decided to create our own pizza with pepperoni, Canadian bacon, mushrooms, and jalapeños. The jalapeños were fresh cut instead of jarred or pickled and we appreciated that. Came out looking good. First slice I had, the dough was a little more crunchy and charred than I like, but the following slices had just the right amount of chew to them. Toppings were good, but the sauce lacked a little. Didn't have that fresh tomato zing you like in a good pizza sauce. If I'm being picky, would have liked a tad more cheese to bring it all together. But overall it was good pizza and put it in an atmosphere like they got going on along with the beer on tap selection and it makes the pizza better. We will definitely be back. Nice regional beer selection. I don't live in the area so unfortunately I only get to come here occasionally when I'm visiting, but I really like their pizza dough. It's thin but not like a cracker--it's chewy enough and has good flavor. Also recommend the pretzel sticks and beer cheese. If you have cheese left over, dip your pizza crusts in it. read more

While in town, a friend recommended this spot for coffee. I enjoyed it enough to go 2 days in a row. Upon suggestion by the barista, I tried the oatmeal cookie latte. Normally, I'm a black coffee kind of guy. But I took her advice and tried this latte. It was fantastic! I got it both times I went. It consists of oat milk, cinnamon, vanilla and honey. Looks can be deceiving...this hidden gem may look like a common sports bar on the outside, whose name gives a wink to the college down the road, but make no mistake, this is a cut above your ordinary sports bar with food, service and ambience. Upon entrance, you notice a nice sitting area with a neon sign that sets a positive vibe. Next there is a wrap around bar situated center stage with ample sitting on the inside and an outside enclosed patio area. I ordered the chicken popper wrap with a side salad with vinegarette dressing. The wrap had a nice little kick with its sauce and the fresh onions and tomatoes were a welcome surprise. Also colorful cloth napkins were a unique touch. They also have 30 craft beers to choose from and I enjoyed the slow drawl. The wait staff was incredibly kind and attentive and made we fill like "a regular" There are just so many things remarkable things about this place. It is DEFINITELY worth checking out! read more

I look for college town coffee shops like this one because I know I can count on seeing something interesting and having good, overpriced coffee ($12 for two medium cups). When I told the cashier I was looking for 'something bourgeoise' she whipped me up a blueberry latte thing that hit the mark. Be sure to carefully look at all the walls, furniture, and shelf products, it's worth a minute or two. read more

First time there, and first time in Magnolia, what a great place! Really cool vibe, live entertainment, very clean and greeted promptly. Great service, she found out we were first timers and was willing to explain several of the items, and you could tell she enjoyed working there. You have got to be kidding me. I walk in the restaurant it is totally empty besides the 4 employees standing around doing nothing. I was informed that if I didn't have reservations I couldn't eat. That they were doing things a little different tonight. I get it being Valentines but it's 4:45 you are empty and the attitude is like too bad can't help you. SMH.... The inside of this place is aweosme. Very unique and cozy. Half of the staff are not very helpful and seem inexperienced. Also, they just lack initiative to serve and produced quality service. Which, unfortunately played out when their salsa was bad and given to us. I ordered a breakfast burrito which didn't taste great and it wasn't until we had chips and salsa where we noticed it was bad. Needless to say I got sick. Once the management came in you could tell they paid attention to detail and you saw the staff shift and actually care. Overall I think the place has a great concept and for it being a small town has great potential. Their pizzas are amamzing. This was my first trip to Magnolia, AR. The people in this town are wonderful and it started with dinner at the Mule Kick and the owner of the Mule Kick...Christy Ouie. The thought and planning she put into this endeavor doesn't go unnoticed! She locally sourced her food, her beverages and the interior was done by coordinating with local resources. The interior was very welcoming and had a comfy feel but with a new twist. I started the evening drinking a Strawberry Blonde and it was tasty and refreshing. The food was delightful! We had the pizza and wings...the dry rub on the wings was delicious and the pizza was cooked to perfection. We will be making a couple of trips back to this area in the upcoming weeks and Mule Kick will be a staple during our visit. read more

Also, we did a wing sampler to try as many flavors as we could and because the wings were so high quality, everything just tasted amazing. SO excited to have this place in Magnolia. Extremely unique interior, it is beautiful! Service is always given with a smile, very well managed too! I have eaten in many times and carried out today through their drive thru window. They have cauliflower and broccoli cheddar crust options for the pizza, broccoli cheddar is my favorite. My husband is obsessed with their wings, get the ranch it is soooo good. The coffee is delicious, oatmeal cookie latte is specifically amazing! As a special birthday treat for my husband he got a growler of the craft beer. FABULOUS!! I really cannot say anything bad about this place! It is very unique and a perfect addition to Magnolia!
