Called me at 8:30 while I was almost there to cancel it. Gave me another drop off option on Thursday and I told them I already had to make arrangements for today and I want her to be seen tomorrow-Wednesday if not today (Tuesday), they told me to go to emergency (the appointment they cancelled today was made a week ago). They do not seem to care much about their clients and/or their pets. I guess business is good so why bother. I will be looking to find another vet for both of my dogs as after today's experience I cannot trust them to provide good care if they just don't care.

Unfortunately, the administrative side of our experience and the post-op care we received was very frustrating. We once drove an hour and a half to our scheduled appointment only to be told the doctor wasn't in and the office forgot to contact us to reschedule. After the dental cleaning, Mochi developed bad breath again. I reached out to the clinic and was told the doctor would prescribe antibiotics, but due to delays around the holidays, it took about three weeks for the prescription to be sent. During that time Mochi contracted Giardia and our local vet advised against giving additional antibiotics. Once he recovered, I tried to fill the original prescription, but Wave rejected it, saying it had expired. Even after explaining the situation , including that the delay wasn't in my control and the prescription was never filled, I was told I'd have to pay for another visit to get a new one. While Dr. Wavrick was compassionate during the initial visit, the lack of support and empathy with the prescription, the scheduling errors, prescription delays, and lack of flexibility left me disappointed, especially given how far we travel to come here. I can't say I will recommend Wave if you are looking for quality care for your beloved pets.

Something fishy going on, and VERY unprofessional! They didn't care that my dog would be out of meds, lied and said they had no appointments (they did) and that they couldn't give a refill (they did). Many online complaints and pet owners having to go elsewhere because they're so difficult. Not worth the trouble!

They refused to give them to me though, our insurance had to get them. California law requires vets to give owners a summary of medical records that includes history, treatment, and medications. None were included (Under 16 CCR § 2032.3).

When I called back less than a minute later, I was told they were fully booked and couldn't see us for several days. She was not eating or drinking, was losing weight and was being hand-fed with Critical Care for many weeks. My regular exotics vet referred us to Dr. Sell to see if she could locate an issue that didn't show up in a regular exam or in X-rays. Initially, Dr. Sell performed a very thorough and gentle exam on Rocket. She located an area of concern in Rocket's jaw, determining that the problem was likely TMJ. Rocket went through 5 sessions with Dr. Sell which were successful in lowering Rocket's pain level. Eventually, Rocket went back to her regular food, started gaining weight and stopped the Critical Care. I'm grateful that Dr. Sell was referred to us and that Rocket was able to return to a normal life. Dr Sell was easy to deal with, she is a good listener, she asked a lot of questions, she was kind and gentle when handling Rocket and she cared deeply for Rocket during our visits. Dr. Sell's years of experience and her level of knowledge are evident and I was very confident in her abilities when she was dealing with Rocket.

This is my go to boarding for my pup. She has stayed here multiple times, as long as 2 weeks or as…read moreshort as 3 nights. The staff communicate well, and care for your pets. My pet had allergies that we thought was only food induced. It was because of the Dogwood Staff and careful monitoring/observation did we find my dog also allergic to fresh cut grass. It took us a few stays to find out, but the staff helped us figure out this mystery. After each stay, I opt in to my dog receiving a bath. She smells amazing after, better than the other grooming location I bring her to. I know four other pet parents who were also satisfied with their service and brings their pets here as well. The requirements for your pets is clear and easy to follow. Initially, I was worried about my pet due to hearing horror stories at other boarding locations. BUT DOGWOOD RANCH, I always feel reassured that my pet is at her own vacation with caretakers that care about her. If I can give more than 5 stars I would!

A few months ago, we hired OffLeash K9 through their "Board and Train" program, for our Cane Corso…read morepuppy. At that time, he was around 7 months old. At the time I signed the training services agreement, there was zero mention of the use of an electronic training collar as part of the program. Additionally, it is not clearly described or disclosed on the OffLeash K9 website that they utilize these collars as a part of the training-- they use vague language to refer to their practices, including the use of "safe and effective methods", but no concrete examples or definitions. I did not discover that they were planning to use an electronic (shock) collar until well after I paid the $2790 for the training program, I should add. Learning this information gave me pause, and I considered cancelling the training, as I had learned through my own professional experience that positive reinforcement training is more effective to achieve results for dogs than punishment-based training. Nonetheless, I was told and encouraged by the trainer (Izzy) that this method was safe, and would not cause injury. Upon return to me after the 2 weeks, my puppy had injuries around his neck which the trainer referred to as "hot spots". The trainer informed me that it was simply due to "irritation" from the collar. The trainer stated at the time of return that our dog was "stubborn", and "slow to learn". Being a Registered Veterinary Technician, I took him home, and I shaved and cleaned the wounds around his neck, in order to better visualize the area. It was immediately clear that he had painful, necrotic pressure wounds around his neck (see photos). I administered first aid, and consulted a veterinarian colleague for further instruction. I am relieved to report that his injuries healed without the need for more invasive treatment--however, those pressure wounds are not a "normal" result of the use of electronic collars. That occurs when the collar is left in place for too long, and is fitted too tightly. This was a direct result of the misuse of the training collar by the trainer. Subsequently, our dog was fearful of the collar, and, understandably, would refuse to allow us to place it on him. He demonstrated very little obedience as a result of his training, despite our attempts to follow up with his training as directed, and he appeared more anxious than he was prior to the program. Both personally and professionally, I was left disappointed and concerned by this program, and certainly would not recommend it to any of my friends or associates. I question its validity, if management is using and supporting dubious communications, and condoning harmful practices. I have extensive connections in the veterinary medical community of the Central Coast and Bay Area, after an almost 20-year career as a senior veterinary nurse, and I have been vehemently opposing and advocating against this he use of OffLeash K9. I have dissuaded clients from acquiring their services. Furthermore, I strongly suggest that trainer Izzy of Salinas be investigated for misconduct, and potentially animal neglect. My intention in sharing this feedback is to make the community of pet owners, whom I love and humbly serve, aware of the adverse effects of this training program.
