I didn't do this at the time, and I feel bad that I just now thought of it. But I visited this restaurant in 2014 on a holiday trip to Cardiff from the States, and I wanted to let people know how much I liked it.
I booked a ghost tour in Llandaff one night (it was excellent) and there was an option for a pre-haunt walk supper, so I chose that. I was the only person who did, so I showed up at Mulberry Street all alone.
I felt very awkward being the only one for the twilight supper. I usually don't like dining alone, especially since I'd hoped to meet some other people. But the staff could not have been more accommodating. They were absolutely lovely and took very good care of me. I felt a bit like a celebrity. There was a guy named Tom who recommended a good place to try Welsh cakes, which I had not had yet but was excited about. I did take his advice and did not regret it. :D
And the food was very good, beautifully presented and very tasty. As I recall, I had a caramelized onion and goat cheese tart and a lemon posset. I remember it fondly and would return in a heartbeat the next time I visit Cardiff. :) read more
