And their menu has little to offer vegetarians other than chips, which are actually thin, greasy fries. Don't expect comfortable seating. The chairs are plastic and tables have seen better days. Although the restaurant seems to be doing well considering its open all hours (or at least whenever I've passed!) and it's usually bustling with diners. However this could be because they're open till late and offer cheap, fast food. I went once but won't be going again.

The absolute best thing about Lahore is that it offers an 'all you can eat' deal for a little over £7 that incorporates all the main dishes plus sundries and naan bread. Drinks are extra, and I can personally recommend the mango lassi as a perfect palate-cooler after you've enjoyed some of the spicy treats on offer. Strongly recommended, it's definitely worth the trip. The only downside is that it can be a little tricky to find somewhere to park. If you can walk it, do so.

Karachi Restaurant…read more Karachi Restaurant is a kebab shop that has a range of spicy treats and ice creams for anyone who's after a bit of flavoursome grub of an evening. It's located opposite a a petrol station where you buy booze, so the two compliment each other nicely. Inside you'll find some large arty prints of New York and London and of course a tv playing Bollywood music videos and Indian soap operas. I often test the patience of the chaps there by entering just before they close, and only seen the slightest hint of resentment. Food is made up swiftly and it's always very tempting to tuck into some appetizers whilst you wait. Karachi Restaurant is convenient if you drive as it has parking outfront, giving it a sort of Diner quality. All round Karachi restaurant is a decent kebab shop and one I will frequent again in the future.

The atmosphere is raucous (huge groups of people make the pilgramage most nights) and loud (but not in a binge drinking hen night sense, moreso the enjoyable family way). I've tried a couple of the kebab shops on the Ladypool road and Zam Zam's is one of my favourites…read more I must admit, the impressive signage is unmissable and it's corner location also helps i'm sure, but these would be nothing if the service and quality of food wasn't up to scratch and with Zam Zam's it certainly is! Often you find a group of chaps dining in there and if it is any mark of the place they always seem to be real gents, but equally Zam Zam's encourages families with an upstairs room set aside for such occasions. Food wise, there's a wide selection and although I haven't nearly tried enough of it, what I have is always of a good standard and the portions are decent too. I've built up something of a rapport with the Zam Zam's gang overtime and there's always a smile and a nod from the staff there, I even had free cup of sweet tea the once after taking an interest in what it was the staff were drinking. Zam Zams is authentic and friendly, you may never travel to Pakistan but with Zam Zam's you're most welcome in what might be the next best thing.
