There are many specialty drinks and flavorings to choose from, and the barista was more than happy to make other suggestions as well. My friend enjoyed a custom oat milk drink at the barista's suggestion, and I had the spice latte off the menu sans whipped cream, which was a generous 20 oz drink with plenty of flavor but not too sweet. Love the product. Great place for freshly (or almost freshly) roasted beans. If there is no one else in the store, service is great. The minute there are more than 2 customers, often a long wait for drinks. Often just one person up front waiting on a queue of customers while there is another employee back in the kitchen cleaning dishes. I went here to get tea for a sick friend and the barista (hoping I used that correctly, not sure if barista is gender-neutral) was amazing at helping me figure out what was what. I have zero insight on any hot drink but coffee yet everything was explained to me perfectly. The people that work here are always friendly and the atmosphere is very reminiscent of a small town hallmark movie. But seriously, where else can you do that in this area?) ESPRESSO, HOT AND CHILL = I guess it's good the barista warned "our Espresso is the real kind... so it's as small as shots"... Perhaps it's my background but I expect all regular Espresso to be that size. I guess they get their fair share of clueless customers. My party's drinks all came out fairly quick and served with smiles. Much of my Macchiato's flavor was muted by whatever Milk Foam was added but not bad. My trip to Muggswigz was an interesting one. I felt like my experience started off really great and sort of deteriorated from there. The barista who helped me was chipper and happy to go over the menu choices. Muggswigz has several drinks that are known by uninformative catch names (Fuzzywig, French Kiss, Bees Knees, etc.). The names were cute and, once explained, the concoctions sounded tasty. I settled on the Bees Knees (double latte, honey, lavender, whip, cinnamon) but without the whip. Although it was slightly cooler than I would have liked, I loved the flavor. For some reason, it reminded me of a gingersnap, something I didn't expect from the flavor combination. I had some time to kill and grabbed a seat but quickly realized that the seating at Muggswigz wasn't all that inviting: tiny plywood tables and chairs seated very closely to the next set of table and chairs. As I sipped my drink, it became apparent that the cafe was cold. Granted, it was chilly outside, but the door was closed and I was still cold despite three layers of clothing and (what should have been) a hot drink. The lighting was also very bright for the early evening hours. If the seating, lighting, and temperature are designed to deter loiterers, it's not working; several regulars were set up with their laptops humming. My experience wasn't bad, just a little less comfortable and inviting than I had imagined. I also learned way too much about the barista's personal lives while I enjoyed my beverage. Overall, my drink was tasty, my barista was nice, and the bathroom was pristine, but I don't think I'm destined to be a regular here. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I just went there for the last time. The owner Alex runs all locations horribly and their coffee is probably the worst coffee i tasted before. I always thought it was just the downtown location but after visiting multiple location i realize the service is the problem because of the owner but after multiple discussions from the employees at different locations it came down to the same problem which is Alex the owner and how he treats the employees to where their service and quality of the coffee doesn't carry from location to location. And it shows with the high turn over and new faces I'm always seeing. I remember a period where 4 of my favorite workers quit in the same week and it was all because of how the business was ran and how they where treated. A quick look around the brightly lit shop took in a handful of tables (and outlets, for those looking to work or surf the Internet), a small selection of coffee products and beans, some pastries and cookies, some cafe-branded items, and a small bar for sugar and such. I took a page from a previous reviewer and had a single vanilla lavender latte which was delicious and not too sweet, even to the bottom of the cup. My husband had a triple cappuccino and enjoyed it - he thought it was smooth and very strong. The only thing that lost a star were the prices - we paid about $8.50 for both coffees to go. Great place for an exceptional cup of coffee! My husband and I visited here for the first time today. We enjoy a great cup of coffee or specialty coffee drink. We do not enjoy the "cookie cutter" coffee shops. Muggswigz is unique. The interior is basic, but it fits perfectly in that style of shop. We were at the shop about 6:00 PM and there were just a handful of customers. There are tables outside in front of the shop to enjoy your beverage. They roast their own coffee beans, make their own coffee coffee syrups, and all of their baked goods are made on site from scratch. The barista was extent knowledgeable about coffee, coffee based drinks, and tea. She explained the different roasts and she gave an overview of Muggswigz in general. The music was good, the shop was clean, and the staff was friendly. My advice.... If you enjoy coffee, give them a try. I like my coffee a little more warm that the temperature that it was served, however it didn't stop me from enjoying it. Don't expect a coffee chain look or feel. This is the second Muggswigz location, while the ambience is different than the original, the beverages are not. Excellent selection of fresh loose leaf teas. Fantastic machiatio's, delicious pour overs as well as sweet treats such as the Libbswig, morsi's and other fresh baked goods. It is smaller than the original location and does not carry as many whole bean bags of their own fresh roasted coffee. Board games are available and it's a chill place to read or do work. I've been wanting to check this place out for a while. We stopped in on a Saturday evening, so most of the menu was off-limits for me since I don't do caffeine in the pm. They do have a few herbal teas to choose from though. My husband adored his caramel white hot chocolate, and I really enjoyed my slice of toasted olive bread with olive cream cheese. I was surprised to see the place nearly full at what I would think is an off-time for them. They were dimming the lights as we left. The interior is pretty grungy. It feels like someone tried to throw a coffee shop together in their basement or garage with whatever furniture they had lying around. They do have a large table with several office-type chairs where people were working on laptops though, so I bet that's nice for people who do that sort of thing. This is my favorite coffee shop. It has such a warm and inviting vibe. The baristas are super friendly and always make you feel special by asking about your day. My job allows me to work remotely, so I am a regular at Muggswigz and have tried many of the coffee and teas on the menu. Both the coffee and tea are top notch. The only improvement I would have for the coffee shop is changing up the music. Most of the time the music is some kind of strange world music.
