I was referred here by my regular mechanic. I brought my 2005 Pilot here . I called for an appointment and none was needed even though they were busy. When I dropped the car off, they took my phone number and said they would call me. After diagnosing the issue, I got the call with a price. When the job was done, I got a call letting me know I could pick it up. The price was as exactly as quoted. They try to fix instead of replacing parts and will not try to upsell like other shops. The car is so quiet now, I thought they replaced the engine with an electric motor. Great honest people. I highly recommend them. read more

Took my Subaru in with an exhaust flange leak at the catalytic converter. Instead of suggesting replacing the 500$ plus catalytic converter and the additional pipe behind it, they cut the flange out and welded in a piece of pipe. Cost me $60. They could have easily suggested replacing the two pipes probably costing $800+ on my older 2011 outback, instead it cost $60. $60 for the repair of a cracked exhaust and broken bracket. What am I having a flash back into the 60's with those prices!!!? You try going anywhere else, Midas, etc. they wouldn't even look at your car with out you knowing you have to replace the whole thing. Thank you, thank you, Julian, for reminding me of a long overdue review of Muffler Man! When I say long overdue, I mean it. Probably 2000 or 2001 I took my minuscule Ford Aspire to my (trusted) mechanic at my local garage. He put it on the lift and diagnosed a rusting pipe, leading to a rusting catalytic converter. He said he had to replace both. The pipe wasn't going to be an issue, but the converter wasn't available aftermarket, and he'd have to get it from Ford. If you've ever seen a Ford Aspire (similar to a Focus hatchback) you know that they're a 3/4 scale replica of a real car, with tiny little pieces that you could swap out with Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars. So why in God's green Earth are the parts so damn expensive? Ford wanted $475 for that little fist-sized chunk of metal, and that was my mechanic's cost! Between the catalytic converter, the pipe, and the (drastically reduced) labor, I was looking at a minimum of $600. And let's face it, I was driving a Ford Aspire, so I obviously didn't have extra money falling out of my arse. Knowing my precarious financial position, my mechanic gave me a business card and suggested seeing if Muffler Man could help me out. My mechanic always has a used car or two for sale at his gas station and had used them in the past. Yeah, it's Montello St, Brockton. No getting around that. One garage bay (that I saw) lined on all sides with hanging metal. I told the gentleman (forgot his name and lost the card long ago) what my mechanic had told me and left them to it while I went to breakfast with a friend. Two hours later (and expecting the worst) I returned to find the car parked on the street. I go in and the guy presents me with the bill; $45. Are you kidding me? He apparently had enough material to work with and had replaced the pipe and patched/welded the converter. I owned the car for another two years after that and never had an issue with the converter. I don't know if it's still the same owner or staff, but I've referred a ton of people there over the years. I've never had any negative feedback, only gushing stories like my own. read more

Only $187 and they'd have it done in the morning. Was honestly expecting to spend far more than that. Didn't try to up-sell anything or suggest additional work that wasn't needed. I had a terrible experience here back in October 2014. I went in and asked for a new exhaust from the cat back for my 1998 tacoma with original piping. They said sure and quoted me $225. Thinking this was cheap but fair for a new midpipe, talipipe, and muffler, I agree. 2 hours later I get the truck back and they simply cut out my old muffler and welded a new one in. They reused my 20 year old steel tailpipe and midpipe. Not what I asked for at all. When I complained, they told me that I was mistaken and that I did not specifically ask for a new exhaust from the catback, rather that I asked them to fix my exhaust and they did "the best they could." Not true at all. I was ridiculously clear in what I wanted. I guess I should have drawn them a picture. I cannot recommend this shop. They did not listen to and thus did not honor the original work request I made. Then when I challenged them, they blamed the problem on my communication skills basically. Ultimately I paid $225 for a used muffler to be welded between two pieces of 20 year old steel that lasted 4 months before my CEL came back on. At that point I put a new exhaust on myself, all new steel from the cat back as I originally 'freaking asked for. read more

I am somewhat overdue on posting this rating, but if I could give a dozen stars I would! The shop was recommended by my dealership as it would be much quicker and much less labor cost than if they had fixed my muffler/exhaust line. I dropped my girl off first thing on a Saturday morning and the line was completely replaced just a few hours later! And the cost? Came in completely at the estimate, no hidden charges, and 1/6 the amount I would have paid at the dealership! I will recommend Muffler Man to anyone, until the day they close up shop! read more

I have now used Mufflerman 5 or 6 times for service on several of our cars. I have also recommended them to several friends. 5 stars aren't enough to describe the service I've gotten each and every time I've been here. These guys are honest and fair. That's always their bottom line. Today they are making a repair for a total of $123. I was at the dealership last week and they wanted $1010 to replace the muffler and two pipes. I think that this says it all! If you ever need exhaust work done and you live anywhere near Mufflerman, you would be a fool to go anywhere else! read more

Excellent business. Don't even bother with the big chains (Midas etc.). These guys are honest, reliable, and skilled. Muffler Man does great work at fair prices, and you don't need to worry that they're trying to rip you off. Took in my battered Honda Odyssey when I thought it needed a new muffler, and they told me I just needed a $45 repair (replaced some bolts). They could have charged me for a new muffler and I'd never have known the difference. Good guys, good business. read more

I give this business an excellent rating!!! This Muffler Man shop in Brockton is my husband's go to place for any muffler/exhaust issues. He has always spoken highly of their service. My car came up with a muffler noise and I was going to be doing a bit of driving. I wanted to have this taken care of as soon as possible. I asked him to call his muffler guys. They said we could bring the car right over. It was about 4:00 in the afternoon on a Tuesday. We did and they warmly welcomed my husband by name and we left the car and they said they'd call if they could get it done before they closed at 8:00. They called about an hour later telling me that it needed a flex pipe and a little repair and it would be about 172.00, we gave them our okay to go ahead. They called back at 6:30 and said it was ready, and asked if I wanted to pick it up that night or in the morning. I told them we'd be right over. The bill was 172. as quoted, the office person was also very welcoming calling my husband by name and had a nice chat about Halloween. My car was done ready for my travels and it was a great experience. I can see why my husband keeps going back. The price was reasonable, the car was fixed quickly and properly the people were wonderful--can't get any better than that! read more
