I came to get my car look at for a loud knocking noise that I thought was the exhaust. I was ask to open my hood in the parking lot and one of the techs look at the back of my engine and seen a spark plug wire hanging with the spark plug in it and said I blew my cylinder head, with out taking my car inside the shop to get a good inspection. Come to find out somewhere else I just had a bad spark plug. What happen to the real in house free Inspection??? The shop did allow me to leave my car a couple days in the parking lot and always been good to me until this situation. read more

Used MM on and off over the years. One guy 25 years of service there. The rest of the personnel are of unknown quality The one guy was not there. Got stuck with one of the other guys. I brought in a complete exhaust system. Every fastener, hanger, clamp, bracket, insulator and the muffler. LOTS of small parts. Easy job They would not let me show the gas ax man what he was looking at so that he could expedite my job and get me out before the end of the day. Wouldn't let me do it. Laid some excellent logic on me. I could not spend 5 minutes sorting out the parts for them and then get out of the way. But I could wait in the office and then come out and spend 5 minutes sorting out the small parts for them. Genius! I have never been able to just turn a tech loose on any vehicle of mine without giving some sort of supervision. I was not allowed to in this case. I will install the system myself laying on the ground and be confident it is done correctly. Try somewhere else. read more

NOT happy with the SWITCH and BAIT repair tactics used by the CROOKS at Grand Blanc Mufflerman. What they said needed to be fixed, what I paid $1400.00 for and what actually needed to be fixed are all DIFFERENT. Brakes and shocks are what I paid for. Shocks were NOT replaced!?! Brakes still not working properly and dash lights STILL on!? When I questioned the man at the desk, he said needs MORE brake work after all and that will only cost me another $1000.00?!?!?!?!?!?! TERRIBLE service. HORRIBLE and WRONG advise. Waste of time and money!! read more

Great staff. Took a used car in for inspection that I was considering from buying from a dealership down the road. Glad I did. The transmission was leaking oil and had been for some time. Just priced out an exhaust job that I knew how much the parts were retail. They quoted me $220 labor for a job that would take about 1/2 hour tops. I don't know if me being female caused this ridiculous quote but I told them after the quote that I knew the parts cost etc. and they tried to give me a lame excuse. Being a master mechanic's wife for 26 years, I'm well educated and found they are insulting my intellegence. I had hoped that ripping off women by mechanics was over, apparently not! My Toyota Camry was making a noise at the front passenger side. I took it to the Grand Blanc Muffler Man for a check on 4/10/10. I have used this auto service shop for over 15 years. The mechanic checked it out and informed me that it needed front disk brakes. He offered me an estimate and reviewed the warranty term. I knew there are different quality pads - so I asked for an estimate for better quality pads. The difference in price was very reasonable. On the top of that he offered me a little discount. The service took only one hour. He actually checked the rear brakes as well and cleaned the shoes. I have always been satisfied with the service and pricing at this shop. They do excellent service and do not inflate price or the service needs of your car. read more

I recently had a problem with my radiator, I barely made it to Muffler Man to drop my car off before they closed for the day. They called me first thing in the morning and had all of the work done before I needed my car for my next appointment. they were fast and efficient and I felt very honest with the repairs I needed. And when I told them I've had enuf of their crap and would never be returning and hung up on them. Had a really terrible experience here. I brought my 2012 vehicle in for air conditioning repair. Spent over $100 the first time. The repair did not fix it, so I brought it back. FIVE more times. I gave them every opportunity to figure it out and I paid them over $250 over several weeks. They had my car for a ton of time. I wanted to go there to support local small business, but when things were going so badly and I asked to speak with the owner (who is never actually at the shop), but he refused to call me. I requested on multiple occasions that the owner call me to discuss, but he never did. I do not enjoy leaving negative feedback but in this case I feel the shop did not have the expertise or any commitment to professionalism or customer service. I ended up doing what I should have done weeks before, and I brought it to another shop. They found the issue immediately and repaired it on the first try. I wasted a lot of time and money trying to give this shop the benefit of the doubt. Huge disappointment. read more

These guys have no idea what their doing. Took my vehicle in for a steering issue and it was diagnosed as a worn inner tie-rod. Picked it up and it made the same noise (did they even test drive it). Then it was determined to be the steering rack-in-pinion. Being $300 in to the first diagnosis, I had no choice but to have them install the rack-in-pinion. After trying to pick the vehicle up for the second time, the stabil-a-trac and traction control light was on. I was ensured by these guys that after I had the vehicle's front end alignment done (at the shop they recommended), the light would go off and everything would be fine. This however was not the case. Muffler Man had no idea what the problem was, so they sent it up to the local dealer. Dealer determined that the steering position sensor had been damaged during the repair to the rack-in-pinion and needed to be replaced. Muffler Man wanted $150 for a $90 part and also the labor to install it. It was then I decided to cut my losses and have the dealer complete the good. When I tried to talk to the manager about the problem and that I didn't agree with thsm charging me for replacing parts that they messed up, I was told he'd have the owner call me, I could deal with him. I never recieved that call, or could I get his contact information. Not sure, but I think Muffler Man was trying to over charge my for the parts, in order to recoup the costs for their original mistakes. I will be staying clear for this place, and recommend other do the same. read more
