After another shop had done installed a turbo-related part that required of the exhaust be removed, I noticed later, that the from catalytic converter back, the exhaust system had been aligned wrong. About midway back it was hanging considerably lower than it should, reducing center ground clearance significantly. [The pipe later hung up at that point, trying to drive onto a drive-on maintenance lift at the shop!]
After trying a couple times at home & not having enough clearance to access clamps & joints in the pipes, I decided to see if the Fairborn Muffler Brothers could schedule me in (which they did promptly) & could maybe help me out.
When I got there, Richard and Smitty listened to my problem & after the clearance problem with drive-on rack, got it up on a post lift. Richard let me show him where I thought problem was, & I explained how we originally had gotten this aftermarket system aligned properly.
After loosening the final 3 pipe segments, partially detaching them, reassembling them in sequence, rotating where needed, the system went back together almost exactly where I had installed it before. Richard went the extra step of giving me a hand adjusting the exhaust tips for a bit better bumper clearance, as well suggesting how to drop them a little more, which I'll follow up on myself.
Great shop, professional & courteous service & work, good rates, and very easy to work with, it was a pleasure doing business with them. I will be back if (when) I need help in the future. Oh! And before I forget, they're a full-service mechanical shop, not just mufflers & exhausts. Give them a ring, when you need work done! read more
