Jacksonville Beach Mom S.

Such a great day trip from Jacksonville! The kids had a blast hunting for fossils and shark teeth. We came home with tons of specimens. Mudslinger provides everything you need. Can't wait to go back and hunt for more treasures.

Our 4 hour haul!

I had low expectations about this tour. Living near a beach my whole life, I've hunted for sharks teeth a million times. I thought it would just be the same but I'd never done anything like this. We panned for gemstones while in NC and my kiddo loved it. When a friend of mine posted photos of their family day, I thought my son and husband would love it. I thought we'd go home with a few little things but instead we went home with a wonderful experience, great family memories, an abundance of knowledge and "treasures" (as my son called them). The walk: isn't bad at all! It's a short distance, somewhat/mostly cleared & relatively level. There are areas that are steeper but not too bad. There were only 2 places my 6 year old needed a hand. You're in the woods though... expect the norm. We heard someone complain about a spider. As we say in the south "bless your heart" You can't go on an eco tour, in the woods and not expect nature to be naturey! The water/environment: it's way better than I anticipated. I grew up playing in creeks in North Georgia and expected something similar. Only, the water was much clearer. There's no odor. It's not deep. There's not a ton of trash. Side note, the trash... thanks to Hurley, the water and banks are well kept. He told us about the efforts they've taken to clean up the area. People still toss their waste there but he's tackling the issues as needed. The trash we saw was very minimal. I love when businesses take the time to care about the environment around them! Other aspects... the bugs were very minimal, which is a plus for Florida. I'm a mosquito magnet and left with zero bites! Also, the tree canopy is wonderful! Very little sunlight beaming down on you and low risk of sunburn, which was also a huge plus. The experience: five star! They provide the scoops, shifters and bags for your finds. Hurley starts the tour with showing some of his finds and explaining what to expect. That was encouraging and made my kiddo super excited. When we got down to the water, Hurley explained how to use the tools and showed us some good areas. He walked around and shared his time with each family. He answered all our questions. He shared stories and experiences. He likes Tyler Childers (that's always a plus!!). He also took time to explain what our finds were! He is so very knowledgeable. My son loves science. He thought that the background and details about our finds were the best part. All in all, we had a great time and my guys wanna go back! The next time we're back in town, we'll be back!

As a Florida native I've always searched for shark teeth while at the beach, and will typically always find some.

We had an awesome time at food and wine tasting tour where we paired our wine and food at 4 local…read morerestaurants in downtown St. Augustine. Scott, our tour guide was so fun and played the 90's music while we rode the fun golf cart ride! One of my favorite one was the wine and cheese spread at the top floor of cathedral with a beautiful view of the city. The eggplants spread, goat cheese with honey on a rustic bread was amazing and the wine was wonderful. What a fun way to explore the historic st. Augustine through food, amazing wine, view of downtown, and places to visit per our tour guide recommendations. I definitely recommend this tasting tour for a fun day in st. Augustine.

Getting this activity 'on the books' was more than aggravating, to say the least. The tasting tour…read moresays that to text them is a quicker option for response to inquiries (for them.) It most definitely didn't seem that way! They DID get back to me via text, but it wasn't in a quick fashion. I'd say an semi-acceptable fashion (within 8-12 hours.) Regardless, we DID get our event scheduled for a private tour with (15 people.) It was quite an expensive 'private tour' of the night of lights that was explained to me as tho the grinch (driving one trolly) and Santa (driving another trolly) would interact with one another (more than minimally) and make the tour exclusive to all 15 of us. They would hop off one trolly and interact with the passengers of the other trolly, etc. In reality, it was NOT a collective tour. The grinch separated from the other trolly and it was essentially two separate tours. Approximately 3-4 times they interacted with one another (acting as tho one would hit the other's trolly, yelling insults at Santa, responding to the grinch, and stopping at the 'duck bar' for the ambush together.) The address to initially meet at is kind of hard to find, even with GPS, as well! There is NO indication of 'the tasting tours' business name on the store front at the address. It is a Cuban bakery.' YES, we all had a good time.... But I don't want the rest of you that book a 'private' tour to be mislead or pay for something you won't receive. *** I also find it distasteful that the company charges an unprecedented amount of money for the trolly rides and then has the audacity to send an email asking for further tip for the trolly drivers.*** Whether a patron tips or not is up to them, not a business owner requesting it!

It truly reminds you why this city feels so peaceful and rooted in nature. The combination of the nature trails, the historic farm, and the quiet, spacious grounds makes it the perfect place to slow down and breathe. I loved how well‑kept everything was, the trails are clearly marked, the farm area is clean and thoughtfully maintained, and the whole space feels safe and family‑friendly without being loud or crowded. The farm is such a unique touch. It really feels like stepping back in time, and the staff and volunteers do a great job keeping the experience authentic. The animals are well cared for, and the whole area has a calm, simple charm that's rare to find. The trails themselves are beautiful, a mix of shaded paths, open stretches, and plenty of opportunities to see wildlife if you're paying attention. It's an easy place to spend an hour or two without realizing how much time has passed. Perfect for solo walks, quiet mornings, or bringing someone who needs a grounding, gentle outing.

This place melts stress!!
