But if your young child can't swim yet, don't even bother wasting your time. They micromanage you with a bunch of rules. No life jackets allowed which is INSANE. Front desk lady tried to gaslight me & say that's a normal policy in most places which it is NOT. She needs to get out more. I've been all across the country & not one other places I've been to has ever had that rule, in fact it's the opposite in most places--non-swimmers are REQUIRED to wear them. So basically my kid couldn't do anything but sit there hanging on the edge of the pool. I tried to walk around the pool with her on my back, again, like I do everywhere else & they said I can't do that either. I couldn't swim cuz I had to watch my child at all times just hanging on the edge of the pool. Not fun at all. Locked rooms are only 18+, so couldn't use that either cuz my kid is with me. Just a bunch of pointless weird rules & micromanaging that doesn't exist anywhere else I've ever seen. Save your money & time & go somewhere else. We ended up just going to raging waters where we have season passes, she can wear life jackets allowed, & we have way more fun.

Studios, swimming pool, rock climbing wall, basketball courts, racket ball courts, fitness equipment-- yep, it's all there. It's long overdue, so this is a great addition to CPP. There's also a Jamba Juice that's accessible from both the inside and outside. Students are free... sort of. It's included in tuition (some students are excluded). Everyone else does have to pay a $140 quarterly fee.

They are open early in the morning until late at night. If you do plan to come here to play in the evening, please be aware of your surroundings as there is no one here watching this facility. Please note there are no restrooms for use. You'll have to go to the teen and family center for restrooms if they are open or walk over to the Glen Oaks Golf & Learning Center to use their restrooms. This facility is better than other Division 1 programs in the country, especially in the midwest region. The students who toured us around were Hospitality and Restaurant Management majors, surprised that there wasn't any collaborative agreements with Kinesiology & Health Promotion but then again, this doesn't surprise me. The HRM people, even back in my day were on top of things, progressive, and well prepared. This is a reflection of what this facility has become. I am very pleased with the results and how clean everything is. I hope outsiders will take advantage of this place vs going to a local health club or YMCA.

We booked a weekend morning tour, and it ended up being one of the most unexpectedly fun things I've done in the city. I was a little nervous at first since I'm not super experienced with kayaking, but the guides were patient and gave clear instructions before we got on the water. Once we started, it felt calm and surprisingly peaceful. We even spotted birds and fish along the way, which I definitely didn't expect in Los Angeles. The whole experience felt safe, well-organized, and relaxed. It's such a cool way to see a different side of the city. I'd absolutely do it again.

If you look that up or really want to raft, take a drive up to Northern California for some excitement- you are able to do Class III, Class IV, or Class V, including an overnight rafting trip. It's not exactly like "A River Wild," but it can be if you're not experienced. I grew up river rafting with my Daddy all the time and have been on more than 300 trips in my lifetime. It's one of my favorite activities, but it's boring and lame in SoCal.
