They can be tricky regarding waivers and riding when it comes to minors. I know it is a liability but you literally need to get a form notarized before being able to ride. Once inside raceway park it can be tricky to navigate and know where you're going. There are no signs telling you where or what tracks to go to. (there are multiple) Track is always groomed well but it can get very muddy. With all the money this place makes all they have is porter potty's that are gross and hot inside. I really can't complain due to the fact this is the only track close to my home but they can definitely brush up on some loose ends.

We did two races my teenager could participate in, plus one pro race. In every race, multiple karts stopped partway through, and each time one of us was involved. I understand that issues can happen, but there was absolutely no communication from staff about what was happening or why. The worst moment was watching my child's kart stop on a hill and slide backward down the incline. The same thing had happened to me earlier, but seeing it happen to my child was far more upsetting. It felt unsafe and genuinely scary. On top of that, the whole experience caused me major anxiety. I understand the need for safety, but the silence from staff during repeated stoppages made everything worse. It felt like being stuck in a vacuum with no information, and that lack of communication added so much unnecessary stress. The axe throwing was great, but the go-karting experience left me very uncomfortable because of the safety concerns and poor communication.

While the Speedway is dated, it is still a…read moregreat experience given that there are not many speedways left in the area and especially no other experiences like this. While it is like driving an oversized Go-Cart, there are no speed governor's and you are in control. These TQ Midget Cars can go up to 120 mph. However, for us average drivers, you can get up to speeds of 60-70 mph. You get 5 laps around the 1/3 mile track, with laps averaging 15-30 seconds. For $30 more, you can get 5 more laps. The whole experience lasts 1-2 hours from check in to completion. They provide you with Cotton Socks, a Fire Resistant suit and shoes and Helmet. All you need is your License and CASH if you plan on purchasing a Photo, GoPro video, or additional laps. Otherwise, leave everything else in the car because there are no lock boxes available. No experience is needed. They give you a personal presentation about driving the vehicle and then bring you to the vehicle to learn everything you need to know about it. After this, you are ready to go! Everyone goes separately, however, you will follow an experienced driver in a "pace" car, but this will not limit the experience. Without a Groupon, I do not know if I would pay full price to do this experience. They do offer a Two for One special as well for $220 that includes 10 laps instead of 5, so that may be worth it. It is also worth noting that they only run this Experience during the summer time at 9am and 1030am.

No matter, it was always fun to witness the racing live and I suspect the lingering scent of cigar smoke and Aqua Velva will hang over Central Jersey forever as funereal last rites Freehold was definitely a hardcore haven but just couldn't compete for the gambling dollar with the handheld gaming proclivities of the smartphone digerati who prefer staring at their screens and being FanFooled by FanDuel. Frankly, I didn't go often enough to say I'll miss it but truthfully. I'll miss it -- as it's just another sunset on an era that spanned almost eight generations. Five stars for the memories and the Aqua Velva.

I played a couple of bets and lost haha. It's okay though, it was worth it going there and have an awesome experience. I've been completing Rugged Maniac events for the past four years. It's a fun and slightly…read morechallenging mud run ideal for both beginners and ocr pros. For less than $50 (on average), you get access to the 5k course with 20+ obstacles. Upon completion you get a finisher's medal, free tee shirt and a beer for runners 21+. If one free beer is not enough there are vendors where you can purchase additional beverages. Rugged also hosts an after party with a dj and contests (beer hoist, pull up contest and etc.). The race is held at the Old Bridge Township Raceway Park which is flat aside from a few dirt hills made specifically for the course. Most of the obstacles were doable, none were overly difficult. The most challenging for me are the obstacles requiring upper body strength like the rings and monkey bars. There is no pressure to complete any obstacle-you are able to skip without penalty. I consider it more of a laid back/less challenging Spartan Race. The flow of the course was very good-there weren't any bottlenecks or delays at any the obstacles. The course is super muddy and you will get mud/dirt in every nook and cranny of your body. There are outdoor showers to rinse the dirt off so bring a change of clothes and a towel.

Have you been to Atlantic City? Once you get past the Boardwalk and the Casino strip, the town is an impoverished mess. Springsteen said it best... "It's a place where when you hit a red light, you don't stop." Personally, I hope they make it since I enjoy watching these magnificent animals run but it's New Jersey where the uninspired reliance on gaming usually leads to snake eyes.
