So glad that Gervasi got themselves a proper wine tasting room!…read more We went on a rainy Sunday, late afternoon and it was just us and one other couple. Unfortunately our party was not able to enjoy the Tasting Experience. The group was traveling through the snowstorm from Cleveland and admittingly were late. We acknowledge that. However, the person told us that perhaps we could use the tickets tomorrow(we appreciated his offer, but we have things already scheduled so we won't be able to go. I called this morning to inquire about additional days/times when our group might be able to return to use the tickets since it was a purchase of $250. Perhaps a credit or a gift card. Essentially this is what he offered last night. However, the young lady who answered the phone today simply read me their no-return policy. Of course, I read that policy when I purchased the tickets and understood it perfectly. However, due to the weather and a group of eight 70 year old women trying to get from Cleveland to Canton to celebrate, I would have thought the establishment would have been more customer friendly and at least provided a reasonable solution. They left Cleveland at 3:30 pm for a 6:30 pm reservation and were still late. That speaks to the weather and traffic. Since Gervasi/Cave it prides itself on its customer service, I expected more from them. I was not asking for a refund at all, just a way to use the month that I have already paid to this winery. The group did fine at the Crush House which was fine, however, due to the poor customer service and lack of compassion, I do not recommend. When I grew up in NE Ohio, every establishment always understood that horrible weather and went out of their way to try to accommodate people delayed because of it. I will be posting this review on all platforms available.

The larger the group, the cheaper your own total will be! Your Wine Cellar is hidden inside of Brew Kettle and Top Golf in Strongsville, nearby Walmart. Don't be fooled by the outdated Google Images of a place with its own sign - it no longer is labeled clearly. Meg was our host and director of our wine making adventure. She was great! We went through a dozen or so rounds of wine tastings to decide, as a group, what we will make. Each sample is $1 and I only tried a few, sticking mostly to the fruity ones. I liked the California Moscato the best of the whites. I only tried one red, the Diablo. The Diablo was the one we ended up making. The making process took about 10 minutes. We also were able to order food from the Brew Kettle. The food I ordered for lunch will be part of the review I wrote for Brew Kettle, which will be published soon after this one. Overall, I had a fun time with my friends, learning about what kinds of wines we like and don't like. In 8 weeks, we are coming back to bottle and label our wines! The entire process ended up being $20-25 a person.

Although they've been here for only a short while, they currently craft their wines at @lincolnwayvineyards --a place we love and have missed visiting. I absolutely loved the "Satisfaction" red wine. It's a dry, oaked wine with aromas of dark fruit, made from French-American hybrid DeChaunac grapes originating from New York, and it boasts a 13.1% ABV. Another standout was the "After Midnight," which reminds me of a saying my parents used when I wanted to extend my curfew in high school: "Nothing good happens after midnight." This wine is the exception. It's a semi-dry, floral aromatic wine, also originating from New York, on the sweeter side with a 2.5% residual sugar and a 12.3% ABV. Overall, the staff was awesome, the wine was excellent, and the space was inviting. Can't wait to revisit. Cheers!

They have lights and signage to let you know you're at the right house. They even have a small vineyard growing in the backyard.. Upon entering the door to the winery, you will find yourself in a stairwell with stairs going down to the basement. Once you're in the basement you will immediately forget you are in a basement. It is quite a spacious and comfortable area with lots of tables and couches, a fireplace, a bar, and a bathroom. There's even a section where they make the wine in steel barrels. It's very cozy, charming, friendly and clean. The host/owners are extremely friendly. It seems that the owner's family is from Northern Italy and we enjoyed talking to them. The Wine itself far exceeded my expectations. We tasted three reds plus the Chardonnay, and we enjoyed all of it. The blueprint red blend was my favorite followed by the Chardonnay. I'm a bit of a Wine snob and I typically don't like Ohio wine. However, I was pleasantly surprised...okay...if we're being honest...actually shocked...that all the wine we tasted was excellent. I will definitely be telling all my friends and family about La Famiglia winery!

With that being said Filia is a fantastic place to sit and drink wines in a unique and beautiful atmosphere. The building itself is an old Victorian house with several rooms to sit and enjoy wine. If you visit in the summer they have a barn where there is live music and tables set up outside around a fire pit. The wines are really good. I am not a dry red girl myself but found myself enjoying the dry reds. They do have some grapes out front and when we went to check them out the owner offered us some to taste. They were amazing. We got the 10oz samplers and they come in a handy carrier so we could get them to where we were going safely. The only thing I could say I didn't care for at Filia is the pricing of certain items. They do have a cheese tray, with an option of chocolate. You pay $10+ for a plate stacked with a sleeve of crackers, a block of Kraft cheese and a chocolate bar that they pull out of a jar on the bar. There is no beautiful or delicious looking presentation, which I think should come with the price. Otherwise I will just take the wine home and purchase some cheese on the way. If you enjoy wine I would suggest you try this beautiful place out!
