The manager, Barbara, was extremely rude! I am always willing to pay more for a product that supports a local business than buying a bargain item at a national chain, but that is because of customer service and that did not happen today. When I actually brought to Barbara's attention how rude she was her response was that they have been in business for 18 years so must be doing something right, no apologies at all. Go to Mud Puddle in Old Town - the staff is friendly and helpful, its a much better shopping experience!

Walking in, you are bombarded with every toy, comic and collectable imaginable. I was ready to find anything that I can add my to husband's collection. My husband is an avid collector of Transformers. Especially anything that's a Decepticon. I found the display of Blokees. Blokees does an amazing job with their Transformers collection. But my husband has completed a majority of the collections. But I did see Tarn and didn't know if he had it so I grabbed it just in case. I then made my way to some comics right by the Blokees. Unfortunately, I didn't see anything Transformers related. So when this sweet associate was walking past me, I pepped up real quick and asked her. She navigated me to the other side of the store. That's where all the magic was. Figurines, comics and Funko Pops. I weaved through 4 different collections of Transformers Comics and found a couple gems. I'm so excited that all 6 of the comics I got had Decepticons on the covers of them. 5 were Soundwave, my husband's favorite character. They were perfectly packaged with a hard backing to help maintain the integrity of the comic. I checked out with the sweetest employees. They were all so kind and helpful! I did end up not purchasing Tarn since my husband already had it. No pressure about not getting it and the associates were kind and put it away for me. This toy store exceeded my expectations. The employees are so kind. It literally has everything you can think of under one roof. A collectors dream come true. I'm so happy we ran into this toy store! I am excited that I found some treasures for my husband. If only all toy stores could be like this one. I'm sad that my husband couldn't experience this store with me. But if we ever come back to Salem, we will be heading to this store first.

The experience: Started on time. I can share that I do not think people are being trained right or the owner is more of a heavy lifter themselves. When we first sat down we were given a tray and utensils that were dirty. The owner walked up and removed them and started cleaning. I am thankful she did but made me think about how come the staff were not able to put this together? There were some inefficiencies here. Like why are kids waiting for the one thing one kid is using when there were plenty of things to be hands on with. Once again, better trainign adn this could have been a better expereince. Also, the employee didn't have a great vibe with kids. I mean she wasn't talking to them making them beleive it was magical. And it wouldnt be that hard to get them to beleive it. Missed opportunity. Other suggestion, be a little more heavy handed with the dye in the liquid as we paid $30 for the potion, ours was almost as light at the water color instead of the blue/purple! Another thing: I assume the owner made a decision to really gear this towards girls. 50% of the population is boys. Warlocks existed too, right? No warlock hats. Nothing boyish sold in the store.
