I made reservations for a Sunday evening to celebrate my parents 40th wedding anniversary. In total it would be 11 of us. We arrived and snugged parking on the street. They had valet for I believe $3 which was not bad. We walked in and waited for our party to arrive at around 5:45. While waiting a lady lets us try an alcohol drink that tasted like pineapple and one that tasted like tamarind. Both were delicious. Once our party arrived, they walked us to the back to sit down. The marina was already playing and the place seemed busy. Both of my parents were really excited about the marimba. Now, this is where I had to take one star. The service was really slow. It took them about 10 minutes to take our drink order. Our food took way longer. We didn't start eating until 7 something and our reservation was at 6! The serves were attentive but having younger kids, it was hard for them to wait for a long time to get their food. While waiting they did serve us a tray of chips with some black refied beans and cheese. When we finally got our food, everything was delicious! Prices were decent too, except for the gallo beer I ordered, $16 for one! So keep in mind if you order a Guatemalan beer, be ready to pay. They were nice to hold the cake I took and cleaned the table up when we were ready to cut the cake. We really liked the place and the service being slow wouldn't keep us from going again. We enjoyed the music and the food.

Great server. Food was promptly served. Coffee needs improvement but there so many other drinks to try next visit, like the atole de plátano!

This location has seen several different types of Latin American restaurants over the last several years. Guatemalan cuisine is featured here. I got a pupusa with loroco, cheese and the herb called Chipilín. This pupusa was the best tasting I've ever had, served with a warm tomato sauce and pickled cabbage (cortido). I tried the tamalito Chipilín, a delicious little bite, tender masa infused with the banana leaf wrap. Server was very friendly and took the time to answer questions about what was being served. The last dish I got was a plate of crispy chicharron served with a salad of thinly sliced radish and onions, with a citrus dressing. Grilled onion and pepper plus freshly made tortillas. The tortillas were thicker than the usual Mexican style almost like pita bread. Many open tables plus a bar toward the rear. Alcohol also served here.

I was driving home one day and my partner noticed this place and told me to turn around. She is Guatemalan and told me it was a Guatemalan restaurant and that we should try it. Came in and liked the layout they have plenty of indoor seating and a cool bar area in the back. They serve guatemalan alcohol as well which is cool and their food is more on the traditional side of things so if you are guatemalan and miss home this could be the place for you. Food is so good and service is friendly and attentive which is great. I ordered the pupusas, (yes pupusas are also eaten in Guatemala) and a pork and chicken chuchito which is a mini tamale. Food was good and different to the many Mexican restaurants around the area so it's a nice addition to that area. Would we be back, yes, food is good and it reminds my partner of home so why not.

Very excited this spot is here and open! Exceptional service, CLEAN, & food was amazing! We ordered pollo en crema, Tostadas de guacamol, frijoles y salsa, and the garnachas appetizer. I've travelled to Guatemala multiple times and as recent as August 2024. This restaurant is truly authentic. I cannot choose which was my favorite though: the Tostadas de guacamol frijoles y salsa or the garnachas appetizer. Parking is easy, free, $ right out front (private lot); there's a full bar and in the back, tvs all around. Perfect for football and fútbol seasons! Cannot wait to visit again!

Great service and ambience, the waitress kept checking on us which was convenient. The food wait was reasonable for the quality we got. Tasty and filling, place was clean and parking wasn't an issue specially because we had a large vehicle. Overall I would recommend if you are looking to try authentic Guatemalan food.

We visited Muchá! Comida Chapina on a Sunday afternoon with my fiancé and some friends because they have traditional Guatemalan marimba music. The music was beautiful and the atmosphere felt lively -- people were clearly enjoying themselves. The only downside is that the space is small and hard to walk through, which made it a bit uncomfortable. We ordered two Antojitos Muchá! platters, which are great if you want to sample a variety of dishes. I got to try Salpicón (ground beef with mint and radish) for the first time -- it sounds unusual but was surprisingly tasty. Another highlight was the Rellenitos (ripe plantain balls filled with beans). So good! For my main dish, I had Camarones Guisados (stewed shrimp). Unfortunately, it was just okay -- not bad, but a little boring compared to everything else. So, why 3 stars? The service. They brought one of our Antojitos platters right away, but the second didn't arrive until about 15 minutes later, which was awkward. My chair's cushion was all ripped (not pretty), and they barely gave us napkins (we had to ask more than once). Maybe they were short-staffed, but it definitely took away from the experience.

This place opened 2 weeks ago near me and it has been on my radar finally got a chance to try it. Being a native Guatemalan and growing up with my mother cooking daily I'm used to good Guatemalan food and this place comes very close to mom's cooking. The service is amazing we were greeted from the time we came in, door was opened for us we were welcomed and given two seating options. Pablo was our waiter and he is very friendly attentive knowledgeable and explained dishes and answered all of our questions. They have a bar area with many tvs, music and a more chill area with booths. While you wait for food you get a complimentary basket of chips and beans very nice touch. I ordered the garnachas and tostadas appetizers both were phenomenal. Main dish pollo en creama also delicious. Highly recommend this place if you love Guatemalan food and if you never tried it I will encourage it.

After we graduated, we promised to have a little reunion here as adults when we were old enough to drink. This little reunion happened recently. My little sister, who is 17, knew I was meeting my friends for dinner and asked if she could come. Since I knew we would be drinking, I called the restaurant ahead of time to ask if she could sit with us since she wouldn't be drinking. They said no. If we were drinking, she couldn't be there. I thought it was unfortunate, but I told my sister she couldn't come to dinner with us. But what was really annoying is that after we ordered alcohol, our server didn't card us. I went out of my way to uninvite my sister because they said she couldn't be there, and they didn't even check. I thought it was a dumb rule in the first place, but it was really annoying that they didn't even enforce it after I went out of my way to ask. The pork belly skewers were really good. I can see why we used to come all the time as kids. Smoky and crispy. There's a big super traditional looking grill at the front of the restaurant, so I guess they're super serious about their skewers. The okonomiyaki was good too. We decided to try the rose tteokbokki since it was a new menu item, but we were unimpressed. There were barely any toppings inside. We also got the steamed squid, but I thought it was a bit overcooked. We might've stayed a little longer, but the sight of a cockroach climbing on our table sent a chill down our spines. We told a server that we saw a cockroach, but she just stared at us blankly and walked away without doing anything. After that, we had serious issues about the perceived cleanliness of the restaurant and left immediately.  I'm disappointed. In the end, I didn't get the warm and fuzzy nostalgic feeling I was yearning for. I think there were several interactions with the workers that they could have handled better. I cleared my little side quest, so I don't think I have a reason to ever return.

This establishment has a South African theme and I saw both the USA and South African flags flown outside. This establishment is only open for evening rations and was very busy when I arrived and there was a wait for a table. We were called and seated. The waitress pointed us to a QR Code and I told her neither of us do QR codes so she brought us a tablet that had the menu. This establishment does NOT have paper menus. Apparently this establishment wants people to go digital which I GREATLY resent as I am an analogue guy and I do not want to go digital!!!!! This is the one and only reason why I am giving such a low grade. Men's washroom was clean and had paper towels available... good. I ordered the cheeseburger and shake combo deal. The burger was quite good as were the French Fries and the chocolate shake was excellent. My mother ordered the lamb and was very satisfied though she took most of it home. Normally I would automatically give the lowest score possible if a sit down restaurant lacks a written paper or laminated menu or if an establishment forces me to use a kiosk to place an order. However I requested a sample of Biltong and the waitress honoured that request. For this reason I am adding an additional point for a total of two points instead of the one point that I would have otherwise awarded. If a letter grade was assigned as is done in school, this establishment would get a D. NOTE: If this establishment had a paper or laminated menu available, I would have awarded four out of five possible points which would have equated to a letter grade of B. The reason I would not have given a perfect score is because I noticed that some of the guys who work at this establishment wore their shirts untucked which I consider to be highly unprofessional.
