Chrono Disk quoted me $2300+tx for data recovery for a 4 disk RAID hard drive based on diagnostics…read moreclaiming 2 of the 4 drives had failed with about 100 'bad sectors' and a long and technical sounding spiel. My friend who's field is in software & file systems was outraged by the quote, assured me the problem was not as bad as Chrono Disk made it sound and strongly recommended I look elsewhere for a resolution, which I did. I found another data recovery shop who quoted me $500 total for full recovery, which was completed within days. The point I want to emphasize is that this diagnostic revealed 1, not 2 failed hard drives. I asked if the the guy was certain about this and he invited me in to his 'lab' and showed me onscreen the 3 functional drives and 1 failed drive. I guess anyone can draw their own conclusions from this but to me, I was lied to and given a quote (an extremely high quote) based on that lie by Chrono Disk. Chrono Disk / the data recovery business is a RACKET. I felt like my desperation to have my files, my work and my life back were being taken advantage of. Don't go to Chrono Disk! - There are far better solutions in Montreal. I want to comment on the 'incredible service' most of the Google reviews are basing 100% of their rating on. They staff is very nice at Chrono Disk. I guess I'd have a smile on my face too if I was raking it in like they are. Update: I called the repair shop that initially recommended this place to me and they will no longer be sending their customers to Chrono Disk.
