I have been a customer of theirs for around 13 years, with them solving assorted problems such as PCs that wouldn't work. Okay, I'm probably hard on PCs. They know their stuff, can source anything you would need, and are honest and fair in their pricing. What more could anyone want, especially when there's a big box store a few blocks away. I put 1 star because I have no way to put 0. I dropped my computer to these guys in September 2016 (a Macbook) - a couple weeks after I dropped it off they call me to tell me that they could do the repair but the piece they needed to fix it would take 3 weeks to come as they ordered it from Singapore. According to them my computer would be ready for pick up in November. In november my computer wasnt ready as they had some kind of problems. We are now in January, I have been calling these guys every day for the past two weeks, I always got the answering machine and they never returned my call. I have no choice than to call these guys thieves as they have my computer and I have no way to get it back. STAY AWAY from then or you will never get your hardware back. read more

These guys have an excellent customer service and they are not computer geeks, they are professionals...they know their stuff, they upgraded my netbook, solved a problem with my new desktop and were really honest doing business with me...one can also pass by and ask them about any inquiry one may have about computers and they are always willing to answer and give you quick advice. I damaged the circuit board of a brand-new MacMini during an attempted SSD upgrade (I tore a couple of capacitors off the board!). The repair necessary involved extremely delicate soldering and I did not have a good feeling about how easily the damage could be fixed. I chose Andromeda Tech based on their location and other reviews I read. Though the storefront of this business is a little on the funky side, the manager, Shaq, reassured me in his understated way that he would be able to help. Email communication was excellent and the repair (once replacement parts came in) was lightning fast. The price was very reasonable and even below the estimate I received. Really disapointed of this place. They were unable to fix my computer or my iPad (both had liquid damage) which is very disappointing, but understandable, sometimes stuff can't be fixed. However, they told me it would take 10 days max if they had to fix the whole thing (the hard drive and every water damaged piece) and it took them more than 3 weeks to fix absolutely nothing. I'm a student and I lost all my work, but they kept me guessing and waiting and the technician always told me he thought he could fix it ...when he answered my calls. In fact, the last week my computer was in this repair store, I called 5 times every day and they never picked up! One time they even hung up on me. I'm so disappointed I trusted them. After 3 weeks of waiting I decided to go get my computer so I called 2 days before hands. As usual, no one answered. I left multiple messages. I went there on a Monday morning at 11 (time they're supposed to open) and they didn't come before 11:30. I said I was there for my computer and the guy told me it would take 3 hours and I had to come back! I mean I have classes!!!! I was so mad. I had to ask my friend to go pick it up since she goes to McGill that is nearby. If you have some serious problems with your device that requires real technical knowledge don't trust these guys. The technician didn't even know how to open my computer the first day, but I trusted the yelp reviews!!! For info, I had a MacBook pro 2018 with Touch Bar and an iPad pro 2nd generation. read more

The past three weeks have been a personal electronic nightmare. Firstly my PC began to go ballistic - secondly my laptop went comatose on me - and thirdly my iPhone began to lose its connectivity after about 3 hours. Yeh, I needed techno- therapy, big time. As fate would have it, in my apartment complex, La Cite, there was Andromeda -Tech.com. They repair all sorts of electronic platforms - the nightmare was about to become a dream! In short order, Hussein, the tech dude, knew what was wrong with the PC. In 24 hours he had me back to functionality! With the Laptop, he found that its operating system was Vista, which requires 2 Rams to function. Future Shop had sold me the computer with 1 Ram, hence its glacial speed - bastards!! So he upgraded the Ram - and now the HP and I are in synergy!! The iPhone seemed to pose a more complex diagnosis. Andromeda gave me a loner - FREE OF CHARGE - while they went about their business of rectifying the problem. So Andromeda, in the person of Hussein, restored electronic order to my personal (and professional) life. For a total cost of $340, my PC, laptop and iPhone were resuscitated - that price being way less than what it would have cost me to replace just one of these products. I am not a tech-savvy dude, and I really appreciated that Hussein patiently took the time to explain the nature of each of the problems, so I could understand why he had done the repairs that he deemed necessary and which proved effective. Now if Bell, which has a monopoly of service in La Cite, can restore their internet sever that has been down , in my building, since yesterday, for more than 24 hours, I will be able to rejoice in my good fortune in finding Andromeda and meeting Hussein. Actually I was back there today, to take advantage of their WI-FI, to access my emails. I cannot thank Andromeda and Hussein enough for what they did for me; how they treated me and the way they continue to 'look out 'for me. read more

Best price in town! Shaq, the owner and main man, is a great guy. Managed to save ALL my files and charged me 20% of what everyone else was offering. Chronodisk tried to charge me 1,000$, saying they had to ship it to France in a white room with white lab coat engineers who would use fine tuned tools to fix my hardrive and retrieve all the files. DONT GO TO CHRONODISK. Shaq did it on his spare time during the holidays probably at his house. This guy is a genius. Save yourself the hassle by going straight to Andromeda first and avoiding the run around costs the other guys give you, to finally tell you nothing can be done, or that you'll need to get another job to stomach the costs. If you want a great deal and first hand contact with the person who will be fixing your stuff, Andromeda is the place to go. Plus, I'm pretty sure there's nothing he can't fix. I'm giving 4 stars because sometimes it's hard to get in contact with him, and since I was on a time frame, that was bothersome. Thanks for retrieving all my company files and life's work!
