The elevated Nereid Avenue Subway Station in the Bronx's Wakefeild neighborhood, opened in 1917, is now serviced by the White Plains Road Line 2 and a terminus during rush hour for peak direction 5 trains. Unfortunately it's neither ADA compliant, nor scheduled in the near future with accessibility upgrades.
In 2006, the MTA installed faceted glass windows designed by Jamaican artist Noel Copeland named "Leaf of Life," honoring the Bronx's gardens and nature with each pane incorporating elements of plants. An interesting piece to check out. read more
