I went to have work done at usual in-network dental office; due to not having any open appointments in a timely manner, they referred me to the endodontist in this same building, under the guise that all would be paid for by my insurance. When I arrive, they tell me they will need an x-ray to fully understand the problem with my tooth. So, of course I agree, as x-rays do not usually entail out of pocket costs. They send me down to this office to have the x-ray because they state they don't have one in that office. They failed to tell me that I would going to a completely different business to have this done. They also failed to convey that I would have to pay costs not covered by my insurance. It seems they have an agreement with each other to shadily drum up business. ***UPDATE*** I called today to get an itemized bill, per Kaiser's request. I was then informed, only after asking for proof of this bill, that the charge had been written off and I no longer owe anything. I also asked for proof of the zero balance and they refused to provide anything in writing. BE VERY CAREFUL AT THIS OFFICE. THEY WILL DEFINITELY LIE TO YOU AND CHEAT YOU OUT OF YOUR MONEY.

To my surprise they than sent me an invoice for over $400. I was outraged! He failed to do the work correctly in the first place and then expected to be paid to repair his horrible work. Shame on you Mr. Kimbrell. To add insult to injury, when I demanded that he return the deposit I made, he said that he donated it to a charity in my name. It's easy to give away money that's not yours apparently. He only returned the deposit after I threatened to report him to the state dental board and file a lawsuit against him. Horrible dentist! Horrible business person! Horrible human being! If you want a good dentist, please look elsewhere.

The first dentist I found was close to my office, and within my insurance network, but the experience was wretched. I asked around, and my father recommended Dr. Spathas' office. Although Dr. Spathas was not within my insurance network, they explained that they have a very fair and moderate billing system, so I took a chance and scheduled a visit assuming that I would only need to pay a small premium for an out-of-network visit. It turns out that Dr. Spathas' billing is on par with my network, so my insurance paid 100%. This means that Dr. Spathas' billing practices are reasonable, and not inflated. More importantly, my experience at Dr. Spathas' office was nothing short of excellent. I received first class treatment from Dr. Spathas and his staff. The doctor was on time, and not rushed at all. He spent over an hour with me, discussing my needs, and paying close attention to my concerns. During subsequent visits, the doctor remembered me, and recited some of the issues that we discussed previously. I got the feeling that Dr. Spathas truly cares about the quality of patient care. So far, I have had 3 visits with Dr. Spathas, and I have been pleased with the service, the attention from the staff, and with the doctor's treatments. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Spathas to anyone looking for a new dentist. The doctor's office is always clean and quiet, and the doctor is gentle yet competent. Note: I hesitated to give this provider five stars. However, after my last visit I actually walked out of the dentist's office with a smile on my face, so I think Dr. Spathas and his staff certainly deserve the recognition.

Bonnie, who is retiring at the end of the year, has been so precise in cleaning my teeth. She is so detail oriented that I always got the best cleaning possible. Knowing Moj's management skills, I am sure whoever comes to replace her will be just as good as the other oral hygienists and will be trained appropriately. When I have needed treatment beyond basic cleaning, they've always explained the options to me, let me know what would be covered by insurance and what wouldn't. Additionally, they've let me know when I can anticipate a current condition training it is some thing more difficult, and that has allowed me to plan both financially and in terms of overall care. Moreover, she has always taken the approach of doing the least that is necessary.

The dentist that repaired it (along with another consulting dentist) was appalled that it hadn't been crowned for protection. To add insult to injury, Dr Rostamian insisted the tooth had a crown on it. Dr. Rostamian is not shy about suggesting expensive restorative services but on one crown replacement didn't find the need to offer me my old gold crown. Also, this practice failed to suggest protecting my four front teeth (behind veneers) with a night guard as the dentin is now exposed. I wonder what else is in store for me after years of neglect.

The second time I came and I saw a different hygienist who hurried me through the cleaning without asking me any preferences and was generally not friendly. When I scheduled for my third visit I asked to be placed with my original hygienist. Was told no problem. When I showed up, I was placed back with the second hygienist (the rude one) as the first person I saw was no longer on staff. I was also told that I was due for an exam that day. I didn't have time for an exam that day, and they almost didn't see me for the cleaning even though I was already in the office. It took me arguing with the hygienist for five minutes just to get service I was scheduled for. There are no shortages of friendly dental offices in the area. I would find another.
