I think every nook and cranny is too full and every item should be picked up, carefully cleaned, and their display cleaned. I also found the confusing "rooms" difficult to navigate. Where is the doorway? Can I exit through a different doorway? I don't know, the whole thing needs to be remodeled, in my opinion. Wise Quaker of yore, George Fox, once said, "use it as long as you can." And I feel this place has been used, in its current state, as long as it can.

I'm always interested and excited to visit Hobby Shops and Game Stores - so I pulled in to check it out. I could not find a way in to the building - all the doors were locked. I noticed the phone number on the roadside sign - and called the number. After navigating through their phone tree - someone answered the phone. I advised that I was attempting to visit their Hobby Shop - but that it was all locked up. The person advised me that it was because the person who runs the shop was under a truck - working on a truck in the rear building where they run an auto repair service. I was told they would pull the person from under the truck and have the person come out to the Hobby Shop building. I declined, I wasn't interested in interrupting someone's repair. This is the kind of store I would love to see more of. (Like maybe where I live....fat chance!) The store owner, a very pleasant and engaging gal, operates a clean, informal shop fully stocked with new and used stuff that is priced correctly, which means "fairly priced cheap." No sleight of hand here. I consider myself a seasoned shopper, so as I browsed around, my consistent assessment was that the prices I saw on both food and non-food items were what they should be for bargain hunters like me. This is the kind of store parents should introduce their kids to without fear that their whining might run the risk of a wallet hemorrhage. Indeed, during my visit, I saw lots of happy kids with their parents in tow----not an unpleasant sound from the bunch! No pressure, no rushing, you are free to try out as many instruments as you like. Being a newby to violin, my son and I were a bit intimidated to walk in and select a violin to rent as this shop is different from all of the other rental shops around. At those you are "given" a preselected set, a violin and bow in a case. You don't have an opportunity to compare any violins as one is just handed to you when you sign the contract. With Betty, you tell her what you are seeking and she will personally identify a number of violins that she thinks might suit you, and you play them to find the right one for you! A bit intimidating for the faint-hearted, but we made it an adventure and learned so much about how violins can be so different from each other! I am sure that we will return for our upgrade as my son advances and needs a new instrument, either to rent or to purchase. She carries used and antique instruments as well. This small shop appears to be a hole in the wall yet once you walk in you will find many treasures to delight your eyes and ears! A definite must for anyone seeking a new violin! But be sure to set aside some time in your schedule as you will be surprised at how many instruments there are to select from at very reasonable prices too!
