The desks include more "social" areas for those starved for professional adult interaction, and more isolated areas for times you really need to concentrate. There are coffee and snacks, high speed WiFi, monitors and keyboards and wireless mice, a conference room for meetings or important calls, and nearby free parking and great restaurants and coffee shops. Being the perpetually curious (aka nosy) person I was, I googled it, and realized it was a new co-working space. They were running a promotion - a free day to check out and work at their office space! The phrase "free" was music to this Asian's ears. I got my bum up the stairs so fast, I was out of breath. But I digress. The receptionist, unfazed by my disheveled appearance and barely concealed greed (my first question to her - "Can I really work here for free?"), welcomed me and gave me a tour of the office. Three things I noticed right away: 1. Free, unlimited coffee (Freeeeeeeeeee) 2. A Zen Room (a multipurpose room away from the hustle and bustle of the office that can be used for private phone calls, meditation, and mini power naps) 3. Clean, modern designs that appease the minimalist in me As I settled down at a desk to start my work, I thought to myself how nice it would be to have a space of my own, and not haul my 20 pound bag and laptop from my apartment to a coffee shop everyday. I hadn't considered it before, as office spaces in the city were typically out of my price range, but I noticed that it was only $350 to rent a desk ($12 a day), or if I really wanted to be cheap - $185 for 24/7 access to the space, but no designated desk ($7 a day). Both options were cheaper than what I paid to work at a coffee shop where I also faced the following limitations: 1. Only drink two cups of coffee to save money 2. Take my phone calls outside to ensure privacy (not fun when it was raining or snowing) 3. Grapple with the fear of getting my laptop stolen each time I had to take a bathroom break 4. Deadly glares from baristas who resented me for hogging a table for up to 8 hours a day But what really sealed the deal was this: customer service. Not only did the receptionist treat me with kindness, one of the managing partners dropped by the office, and she worked patiently with me to assess which plan best suited my needs. At no point did she aggressively sell their services. In fact, she even asked me to think about it for a couple days, and that she would be glad to answer questions should they come up. I just sent her an email to put all the wheels in motion, and am so excited to call this space my office! TL;DR: Awesome co-working space in the heart of Philly - free coffee all day, reliable internet, and intriguing conversations.

If a space is truly a coworking space and available for other than a 9-5 schedule then you should allow creatives and those entrepreneurs who do not work a traditional vanilla schedule the same opportunities as those who do. This is discrimination against those who do not adhere to the framework of an office type environment. Isn't the typical office type of environment that which you buck against as a non traditional type of work environment is this just marketing BS? I fullyunderstand that the front desk staff leaves at 5 as do most in other coworking entities and that safety and concern should be used in vetting your patrons. Perhaps there should be staff in the evenings then? Perhaps there should be a camera system in place? Perhaps you should be vetting your guests to ensure nighttime safety if the concern is that your work environment is or can be unsafe without supervision. Either way, it is Kismet that Kismet did not honor my free pass. The preordination, predetermination, what is to come, the writing on the wall, all those kismet-ish signs point to a space NOT meant to be sampled in real time and a space NOT suitable to create in (after 5:00 pm) unless you sign up at which point you won't know if the space is suitable to work in after 5 ( as advertised 24/7) until you have already committed. I would suggest that you change your hours or find a a way to accommodate a base of creatives in Philadelphia who would like to find a workspace to try out that does not adhere to a basic schedule but mostly, just change your hours to match your approach or your approach to match your hours and it won't come off as discriminatory. Update: Thanks for your response but I did not just call to "check" in on your pass. I hope that you are not insinuating that I did not have an actual pass. I own a property where free passes were available to those within our community. It was an actual bookmarked shaped pass with a foldable promotional card and I was genuinely excited to come see the space based on your marketing. When I called it was to verify that this was a real pass for the day. As stated, I understand the hard line take you have on security. This understanding does not make you exempt from honoring your pass or having adequate staffing. You should have the passes reprinted to say " for use between 9-5 only."

Kismet was the perfect space to host our event of about 20-30 people. The staff was so responsive…read moreand easy to work with to set up our event and made sure that the "conference" room was set up prior to our arrival with lots of chairs for our guests to listen to our guest speakers comfortably. We were able to bring our own drinks and snacks to have available for our guests, which was awesome as we do not have a large budget just yet. The event staff there the night of event was so helpful with moving furniture, sharing things with us that we forgot (like napkins!), and even helping us carry things to our car after the event. They are constantly making upgrades and coming up with new offerings to foster community and professional growth. The space itself is beautifully designed for a peaceful, cozy, and inspiring environment. My clients frequently make mention of how nice it is and I can tell it has an impact on their experience. Logistically, I have a hybrid virtual and in-person practice and paying for real estate would be my biggest overhead cost. I didn't want to sign a rental agreement that wouldn't fit my situation or have the flexibility that I need. It's also a fantastic option for folks who are just starting their practice or who have a part time practice. At Be Well, I can increase or decrease the amount of time I use, and it isn't restricted to certain days of the week if my or my clients' schedules change. It really is the best of all worlds - I get office space with a luxury feel, flexibility in scheduling, fair pricing, and networking and community events with my colleagues.
