In its current state, Flower Child is walking into a retro basement that has decades of treasure! LAYOUT/INVENTORY: The store has two levels with multiple rooms of treasure. Both levels have similar merchandise - home goods, kitchen tools, some furniture, abundance of accessories, clothing, vinyls, and some interesting international decor. Just when you think you ran out of rooms, there are more rooms of treasure to browse. I especially loved the basement. Every room is a treasure hunt! If you wear petite sizes, this is a treasure trove of vintage clothing. You'll find tees, dresses, sweaters, and pants. The clothing is casual and functional. Check out all the clothing rooms on the main level and basement. VALUE: The discounts on merchandise of 70% is a great value. However, the initial prices are quite high considering the quality. Some of the clothing and items are very well loved. I don't see myself paying full prices for the items to be extremely honest. SERVICE: The staff was very nice to customers during checkout. There was a lot of excitement about the upcoming store move. They staff was always very busy. Personally, I wanted to ask about the pricing for a folk pin I was eyeing. There was no one to ask so I eventually gave up. I'm sure the service is more attentive during the regular days. PARKING: I was surprised to find a pretty large parking lot at the back of the building considering the location is in Lakewood. Amazing if you're carrying home a lot of treasure. I would recommend Flower Child to guests who enjoy digging for treasure. You definitely need maybe an hour to focus on each room without getting overwhelmed. You'll find clothing, shoes, videos, books, furniture, electronics, housewares, health items, etc. I didn't think the prices were fair on some things that were really junky, but after asking the woman at the register, I found out that items are donated and all of the proceeds go towards the Boys & Girls Club. That wasn't clear at all, and I would not have known that if I wasn't true to my outgoing self and asked the associate about the store. All I found to buy were my overpriced buttons, but I'm happy knowing I supported a good cause.

Although it is a bit tight, the traffic all goes in one direction which is super helpful and the entrance to the building is stairs but there's also a ramp going in, which makes this place handicap accessible and easy to bring home rolling or heavy things from the store. Upon entering the store, I noticed that there are huge signs hanging from the ceiling telling you where things are located which made navigating through the warehouse easy peasy. I was on a mission and immediately found what I was looking for. I talked with a staff member who was friendly and was delighted as two customers who happened to be leaving at the same time as I was, helped me bring my stuff to the car. Bonus! The ladies at the check-out desk were very kind. Heads up, it's cash only (plus tax), so keep that in mind when you visit. I also quietly walked through the church's sanctuary to admire the architecture after they had finished a sermon. I am not religious, but you don't have to be in order to appreciate it's beauty.
