Flower Child is a thrift store in Lakewood. The store is currently having a closing sale (70% off…read moreeverything). They will be opening in a new space in November 2025. In its current state, Flower Child is walking into a retro basement that has decades of treasure! LAYOUT/INVENTORY: The store has two levels with multiple rooms of treasure. Both levels have similar merchandise - home goods, kitchen tools, some furniture, abundance of accessories, clothing, vinyls, and some interesting international decor. Just when you think you ran out of rooms, there are more rooms of treasure to browse. I especially loved the basement. Every room is a treasure hunt! If you wear petite sizes, this is a treasure trove of vintage clothing. You'll find tees, dresses, sweaters, and pants. The clothing is casual and functional. Check out all the clothing rooms on the main level and basement. VALUE: The discounts on merchandise of 70% is a great value. However, the initial prices are quite high considering the quality. Some of the clothing and items are very well loved. I don't see myself paying full prices for the items to be extremely honest. SERVICE: The staff was very nice to customers during checkout. There was a lot of excitement about the upcoming store move. They staff was always very busy. Personally, I wanted to ask about the pricing for a folk pin I was eyeing. There was no one to ask so I eventually gave up. I'm sure the service is more attentive during the regular days. PARKING: I was surprised to find a pretty large parking lot at the back of the building considering the location is in Lakewood. Amazing if you're carrying home a lot of treasure. I would recommend Flower Child to guests who enjoy digging for treasure. You definitely need maybe an hour to focus on each room without getting overwhelmed. I look forward to checking out the layout of a new store!

We were pleasantly surprised with the large space and inventory. I would agree that somethings may have been overpriced while others seemed like a bargain. However, when we went to the register, the cashier let us know that all the items were actually way less expensive than we thought. To go even further, they did a buy one get one free on a brand new in the box dining room ceiling light which we couldn't pass up. I will be returning!

Habitat Restore is such a great place in general and I was really happy with this location. Let's start with the parking lot. Although it is a bit tight, the traffic all goes in one direction which is super helpful and the entrance to the building is stairs but there's also a ramp going in, which makes this place handicap accessible and easy to bring home rolling or heavy things from the store. Upon entering the store, I noticed that there are huge signs hanging from the ceiling telling you where things are located which made navigating through the warehouse easy peasy. I was on a mission and immediately found what I was looking for. I talked with a staff member who was friendly and was delighted as two customers who happened to be leaving at the same time as I was, helped me bring my stuff to the car. Bonus! I will be visiting here regularly until I find a dresser for my husband and a lounge chair that I love for our spacious living room. Great place.

To update the lone user who has reviewed this place:…read more It looks like they are only open on Tuesdays 10-4pm now, per their website. I went here for the first time today and loved it. Prices are much more reasonable than Goodwill. Their clothing selection was modest, but I still found some great deals (sweaters for $2-$3.50, an antique cruet for $2.50). The ladies at the check-out desk were very kind. Heads up, it's cash only (plus tax), so keep that in mind when you visit. I also quietly walked through the church's sanctuary to admire the architecture after they had finished a sermon. I am not religious, but you don't have to be in order to appreciate it's beauty. If you decide to take a look during your visit, please be respectful!

It's open on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:30am to 4:30 pm. They are staffed by the wonderful women of the church who are dedicated and kind. It is a refuge for neighborhood people who cannot afford new clothing or things for the home. They sell everything from vintage clothes, to flatware, glasses, artwork, post cards, jewelry, shoes, home and garden items too! The place is a treasure but the best experience about the Cache are the lovely women that run it. Located in the basement of the church

Both neighborhoods are pretty eclectic adding the perfect backdrop to this shop. This was my first spontaneous visit to Avalon to see what treasure may await me. AMBIANCE: The perfect marriage of thrift and vintage with designer finds. The store is divided into men's and women's apparel. Designer finds are neatly organized at the entrance. Don't expect to find thrift store chaos here, everything is neatly filed into sizes. INVENTORY: Apparel, accessories, designer purses, and lots of shoes! You won't find home goods or decor here. You will find way beyond the online shop inventory. You can easily build a fashionable outfit here for you next night on the town - Hingetown and beyond! I was most drawn to the furs and lingerie-type dresses at this shop. Oh, and men's shoes, so many of them! Prices start at $3 in the sales bucket. I saw reasonably priced dresses well under $15. SERVICE: The store staff all welcomed me in. It was a very pleasant experience. I also witnessed them engaging in friendly conversations with other customers. I did not purchase anything due to the store carrying a very limited plus size inventory. It's a well set expectation at most thrift and vintage shops due to procurement difficulties. There were probably five pieces labeled XXL that looked smaller than their size. I wear between XXL and 3X, so they just wouldn't work for my body type. Nonetheless, I was impressed with the selection of purses and will continue checking out this store for those items.
