I had a chance to visit Miss Polly's cake Giants the other day while in the neighborhood picking up something from quickies, which is right up the street. I had noticed this establishment a couple of times before, but it wasn't open so today was my lucky day. One note in terms of parking. You should either park in the parking lot adjacent to the building or across the street as there isn't parking on the near side of the building. The day I walked in, there wasn't anybody else in the shop and I was actually greeted by the owners two young kids. They have several types of cake and cheesecake available for sale and I chose the red velvet and the carrot cake. I really enjoyed the Red Velvet. It was a traditional version, with really rich flavor and great icing. The carrot cake, while made really well, was on the stale side, so that wasn't the best version. Price to value was also decent with the per slice price somewhere at around 7 1/2 dollars because I paid a total of almost 15 for the two slices. For the size of the slice I would say it is a bit more on the expensive side, but I also get it because the price of ingredients are up as well They also offer custom order cakes and desserts so if you need that option, I would try them out. Ultimately, this is not a destination bakery for me because I live more than 20 minutes away, but I'll definitely be trying them out again in the future when I am in the area. read more

I ordered a cake and cup cakes to be picked up at 3:00 found out they not In pooler so had to go to the one on Ogeechee got there about 4:10 had to wait 30 more minutes for cup cakes that's not professional. they need to do better. read more

I can't say enough nice things about this lovely little business. I love that is locally owned by a woman. I had one of Polly's cakes at a friends birthday party. The cake was absolutely beautiful and key lime pie cake. Didn't know it existed. It was the perfect blend of sweet. Not too much that I couldn't even finish my slice. I decided I would ordered cakes from Polly's next time I had an event. I ordered a key lime pie cake and a carrot cake. I love that they offer many different sizes and that they can decorate it however you want. I ordered the cakes for my dads 80th birthday party. I'll post pics of them later... I Picked up my cakes on the ogeechee location which is great because it has a big parking lot. The shop is super cute. The have individual slices of cake you can purchase to try all the varieties. I would have never thought that this cake came from Ms Pollys Giant Cakes but oh well it did let's start with her Ms Polly she was rude to my daughter with her smart remarks secondly the cake unattractive I guessed they used what they had and the taste sorta dry not good at all never in the years have I been in Savannah I've never had any of her cake other than red velvet the yellow was not good not moist and it was ugly and on top of that you have the nerve to be rude and serve this too expensive cake you have declined in service and cake is what they are saying and I guess this is proof read more

The cakes are all amazing! The strawberry cake is my all time favorite. I got a birthday cake for my boyfriend: strawberry cake with cream cheese frosting! I asked them to put Bucee on it and decorate it with the Bucee's colors. When I saw it, it blew me away! My boyfriend loved it and we've been eating it all week. My family and I decided to celebrate our sons birthday in Savannah. GA. I was referred to the bakery by another well known bakery because they would be closed on the day I needed to pick up the cake. My son designed his cake for his 5th birthday, it was an adorable drawing. A banana cake with chocolate frosting, blue berries on top and his name written in orange color. I called this location four days in advance to request a 10 inch cake with his requests, unfortunately they had no banana cake in stock and would only be able to sell a vanilla cake with the chocolate frosting, decoration not included. For the appearance of the cake and the fact that we could not get our full request I would say the price was high for $85, but wanted to give it a try. The service was ok. The location was accessible. The cake however was DELICIOUS!... The frosting, the bread.... everything was delicious. If you live in the area, stop by and try a peace, it will be a pleasant surprise. read more

For years we have eaten cake from Polly's, service has done nothing but decline. Every year my husband wants a cake from here but I guess last year was the last. Don't get me wrong I think the cake is good but my children says it's just box cake! I'm frustrated but at the same time disappointed year after year! This year I have been calling all stores for two days with no answer. Today they answered at the Pooler location and I stayed on hold for 20 minutes and no one came back to complete my order Last year my daughter ordered the cake over the phone went to pick it up and they said she never made order, however the charge was one the bank statement. Luckily we had one more day and was able to order the cake. The year before we got the cake late because they claim they couldn't find the order. I'm done! Okay, here's what. Long post warning! My mom called and placed an order over the phone the morning before my birthday. I heard her describe the type of cake she wanted (butter pound with butter cream icing, pink and green colors, etc) I also heard her state a time for pick up the next day which was set for 10 AM. Issue #1. You must pay for the cake upon order or else they will not make you a cake. This is not exactly a big deal, but I guess there are just too many people prank calling for cake orders these days. Weird. The morning of my birthday, I jolted myself outta bed to check the time on the clock. Oh nooooo, it was 10:15 and my cake was ready fifteen minutes ago. I jumped up threw on something and hot tailed it to Ms. Polly's Ogeechee Rd. shop. I was pleasantly greeted as I took a seat for the man behind the counter to settle himself for he was running to and fro as if he was busy about some other business. He asked me for the name and I gave it to him. He checked the orders on the shelf, but nervously looked up and rushed into the prep room. He reappeared to verify the name and then asked when was it promised. I told him at 10 this morning (It was now 10:40.) He said, "No, it couldn't have been ten o'clock because we don't open til 10." He went back to the kitchen and reappeared with a piece of paper saying, "No, I have it right here, and it says 12:00 this afternoon. I wrote it down." Issue #2. Pretty obvious from that scenario. So I left annoyed because now it was getting into the way of MY DAY's plans. But what can you do? At 12:25, my mom received a call from Ms. Polly's stating that the cake order was ready. Since I was sitting in the same room, I immediately grabbed my purse, but my guy took me to have a bday lunch first. We were out at least 1.5 hours before we arrived back at Ms. Polly's to pick up the cake. At this time, the bottom of the sky let out a huge downpour of rain, so my man ran inside to retrieve the cake. When he returned the man told him that he had been calling since 11:00. Issue #3. Eye roll Now the taste... The cake was decorated with pretty colors, but the way the icing was spread looked a bit amateur. It was a two layer cake with icing in the middle which made it insanely too sweet, so for you all who scrap the excessive icing on you slice of cake, be prepared! Overall, I can't say it was a terrible experience because it wasn't, but I would love to have a butter pound cake in a single layer with butter cream icing. They said they don't make those. :-/ I give them an extra star for at least being polite through the process. read more

If I could rate them more than 5 stars I would!!! I am so lucky that I came across this shop. 100% exceeded expectations! I was entrusted with the gender reveal for my best friend's first baby and with the help of Ms. Polly's Cakes it went WAY better than I could've ever imagined!!! Because I live in CA, I needed to find a shop that could locally deliver the cake to a restaurant in Savannah. Luckily, Ms. Polly's shop was more than willing to help me out! The employee who delivered my cake said they wanted to personally ensure it had a good spot in the fridge, and even sent me a picture of it inside the walk-in fridge of the restaurant! Again above and beyond. Not only did the cake turn out better than the example picture I sent them, I was told by the parents it tasted amazing! Customer service was 10/10. Cake 10/10. read more

I've seen some of the designs they've made, and I have no clue how they make some of those things. They've designed cakes in every shape and size. I've seen them make cakes in the shape of shields, logos, buildings, and other amazing shapes. They also excel at doing classic designs as well. Fucking terrible service at Pooler location. Guy running shop is a scammer. He tells you one price and charges a deposit and when you pick up the cake he adds another 20 or 25$ to the price. I had a terrible experience with a child's birthday party BUT the cake was very good. So I still recommended them and when she went to pick up her cake it was completely burnt. Very pretty on the outside but burnt on the inside.. so if you go here expect either a pretty cakey with disgusting inside or ugly cake, that's not what you ask for, that tastes great. My husband and I bought a slice of the red velvet cake at the location in Tanger Outlets. We were very disappointed. There wasn't anything special about this cake. Maybe my expectations were too high. I thought it may be similar to an old-fashioned cake since they were selling it by the slice. It tasted like any other red velvet purchased at a grocery store. The frosting was overly sweet and the cake is not much above a box cake mix. The service was nice though. If you expect grocery store bakery cake you won't be disappointed. read more

I ordered and paid for a cake 6 days before my event. The cake was suppose to be ready 10:30 the day of the event. When I went to pick it up the day of the event the cake was not ready. That was around 10:40 that morning. They finally said after seeing my disappointment they would deliver the cake to the venue. Not impressed at all,tried two different flavors of cake.....I bought a piece of red velvet and what she called birthday cake, niether one had any real flavor,the red velvet cake literally tasted like white cake with red food coloring added,and there was barely enough icing to even be noticeable. The birthday cake flavor was yellow in color but,like the red velvet lacked real flavor,like there was no buttery taste no nothing,just bland,and again nearly no icing. Like I said not impressed,in fact box mix cake I make at home is better than this stuff,sorry but it's true and at least then after I make my icing I put more than a paper thin layer of it on my cake. read more
