ABSOLUTELY FIRST CLASS I am Physically Challenged and no one would take me on as a student & my relatives would not attempt to allow me to learn with them how to drive. For 28 yrs I have had a dream of driving my own car and being Independent. After a few instructors(6) came to meet me they have ALL refused to teach me because of my imperfection. I mean some of them would make rude comments others would just look at me in disgust. Really hurts being judged and being discriminated against. I had giving up all hope until I read some reviews regarding Ms.June on Craigs List and on Yahoo. I gave her a call. I did have to wait a full week and I have to admit I thought she was just putting me off because maybe the other Driving Instructors had BLACK LISTED me in the Driving Instructor realm. Shame on me for thinking this. She showed up at my door on April 11, 2009 She asked for me and had a card in her hand introducing herself to me. I told her I was Sammy. She smiled and said hi never looking at me with judging eyes or anything. I never got any bad vibes from her and trust me I DO get them. She allowed me time to get myself together and out to her car .She has 2 brakes and 2 gas pedals in her Toyota, so I was happy to see she had both of those :) After I get settled in the car, she quizzed me on the inside things I MUST know. I did not know my hand/arm signals or anything at all about the car since I had never been allowed on the drivers side of any car. She just gave a giggle and showed them to me. She gives off such a warm feeling & has a glow about her. So anyway, we went out around the block making some left and right turns using the signals and such. I admit she did have to grab the steering wheel a few times to keep me centered but she said EVERYONE is the same and not to think anything about it as it is part of the learning process. She is funny an made learning fun. TRUST me she does NOT miss anything. She will be talking about something and if you make a mistake she will call you on it. LOL I drove with her for 3 days straight at first to get a handle on things and then every other day taking 20hrs of driving lessons (10 Lessons) prior to my ROAD TEST. The best money I ever spent & so well worth the $money. She put me out on Hwy 20 and had me merging and changing lanes. By the way, LEARN what S.M.O.G means. Like I said she doesn't miss anything. She told me when her daughter was 3 she asked her when she would grow more eyes so she could see everything. IT was funny. I gained a new friend for life and she even helped me with finding a car that would work for me. I passed the Road test a few days ago with her and I was truly so far the BEST DAY of MY LIFE besides meeting Ms. June. I am forever grateful to have been blessed by this incredible lady. With the economy the way it is during this unknowing time, it's very hard for me to trust anyone with my hard-earned money. Even though Ms. June was highly recommended, I was nervous about taking lessons and not passing my test with my limited funds available for these lessons. I signed up for the 20hours with the test included. Ms. June came, and it was her smile, her ways of getting you to relaxed that I felt she was like a friend teaching me minus the yelling from friends I would have gotten LOL. She was/is a blessing to have as a teacher. I felt very comfortable with her from the start. English not being my 1st language was not a problem at all. She takes her time to explain and if you do not understand, she will switch seat with you and show you how to do what she explains. By the 3rd lessons I was feeling very confident with my skills she taught me. The only time I was terrified was when we parallel parked for real in downtown Athens. To my surprise It was not hard at all. Her way of showing you exactly how and where to look got me in with ease and it was traffic passing by as well. It was a great feeling and having Ms. June be my cheerleader beside me praising me was so awesome. *Trust me when I make this statement.... SHE IS WORTH your MONEY and time. I passed with a 94 with 6pts taken off for not doing the U-turn correctly according to the DDS examiner. However, I left with a 100 :). Ms. June showed the Examiner the DDS handbook that clearly states that U-turns are to be turned into the furthest lane on the right of the double lane unless its a one lane road. Ms. June knows the Georgia Laws much better than the DDS Examiner and he apologized saying he didn't know this. He told us he was taught left turn left lane which is true unless it's a U-turn. TRUST Ms. June with any and all information she will tell you because she absolutely proved to me on my test day that she will fight for what is right when she knows she is right, and she proved it. Thankfully I chose the correct person to teach me, and my skills are great, and I hear her voice ever time I am about to do a lane change saying mirror mirror mirror lol. My experience with this Driving School and Driving Lessons are above and beyond anything we expected. Three (3) of my family member's including myself came here from another Country and English is so so. Ms June and Ms Phyllis are great communicators in all aspects of teaching. My mom is older and never driven. Ms June and Ms Phyllis are so very patient. Mom was with Ms June most of time and really enjoyed her personality and humor. She would come home everyday with new road knowledge as well as something to talk about. After my dad passed she was very depressed and sad. Its like Ms June really treated her as a long life friend and taught her so much about driving but life experiences as well. She connected with Ms June on so many levels. My mom being 62 and learning a new life task driving has really given her the independence she never thought she would have. She did pass with a 88 in Oxford on her first attempt which she never thought would happen. Ms June is a blessing! I had Ms Phyllis and Ms June and both are wonderful ladies. Kind, patient, knowledgeable and very caring. If you need to learn to drive, I highly recommend this Driving School. They pick you up and you actually drive on the road. Ms June is more aggressive in her teachings than Ms Phyllis but she makes 100% sure you are safe and know what you are doing before the lesson ends. If you do not understand how to do a task, she will literally switch seat with you and show you. My sister preferred Ms June over Ms Phyllis because she is more personable and to the point. She gets you talking about yourself and before you know it you are driving on hwy 20 going 70 mph and you are actually relaxed and not freaking out. My sister is 34 and her husband told her she would never learn to drive and for sure never pass road driving test. She proved him wrong and not only did she pass but she made 100 on her test and went the same day, got a car and drove it home. First off I want to let all you people know I am 59. I was always told by my husband I was a lost cause when it came to driving. After being told that for so many years I pretty much gave up. My husband is now sick and regrets not teaching me to drive. I tried so hard pleading with my kids to help me learn since their dad is sick. But they all told me I was too old now to learn. But I was determined. A lady a church told me about Ms. June. I cry every time I think of her kindness. She is truly a wonderful person. I live way out in the country on a dirt road. She came to me and never frowned or said negative things to me. I know her job is to teach but she goes above and beyond the call of duty in her teaching. I paid the $750 for 20 hours and we were off to the main road to drive. YES ! The main road. I was so scared but she said sweetie I am right here. She relaxed me and kept me calm. She applauded me when I did a good job. After my 3rd lesson I was driving with no fear. She taught me how to smoothly change lanes and park. I am NOW no longer depending on ANYONE for help. My husband bought me a NEW car as a reward. He said I am a very good driver. I know without a doubt I would NOT have learned if not for Ms. June. If you need lessons no matter what your age is. GET LICENSED. It is worth every penny to get your own independence. Now my kids regret not helping me. They were afraid and I don't blame them for having that fear. But they could have helped me after awhile. But at any rate. I am a safe driver and now can take my husband to his doctor appointments and go buy groceries. I found Ms. June by doing a search for female driving instructors. She is 5 Stars all the way. I love perfection and Ms June is all everyone post about her. She is honest, PATIENT, hard working, punctual and precise. She taught me very well. I had never in my life been behind the wheel. I know I tested her patience more than just a few. She never lost her cool. She is very down to earth and friendly. She will raise her voice and scold you but trust me she is THE BEST driving instructor and you will learn. She teaches road rules and regulatory law. I learned much more than I ever thought I would. How to handle situations when someone cuts you off as well as how to ease back on the road when you run off. I did this maneuver more than once oops...sorry Ms June lol but she again was cool. She said everyone has to learn. No one is born with a Drivers License. She teaches everything you ever want to know about driving. Including how to pump gas and check oil if you want to learn. She worked with my class schedule. I was picked up on campus and dropped off at home. I am extremely happy to say I passed my road test with an 88. I now can get the job on Campus I applied for but missed earlier this year since now I have a license. Actually she is very affordable. I purchased the 20 lesson plan for $880 which includes test. Honestly, I didn't think I would be able to pass with only 20 hours, but her lessons can be intense at times. She will take you on all kinds of roads to teach you. Lessons are NEVER boring. Ms June is very good. She does not price gouge your wallet. She understands money is hard to come by these days. I took 12 hr plus road test with her. She has knowledge like no other. I tell everyone about her. My neighbor has her teen son taking lessons with her now. The son is a teenager and he said Ms June is really sweet and he could talk to her about many things. Not sure what many things he has to talk about but he is happy and excited to go do his driving lessons. He hated the thought of driving after his friend had an accident. He and I both really do like Ms June. She will do all kinds of maneuvers with you so you can handle anything that should come your way. My friend's some told his mom that he will tell his friend to take a lesson or 2 with Ms June even though he does already have his drivers license he thinks he would benefit from learning with her. I like that when a teenager knows right from wrong. Bottom line. This woman has been doing this 19 years. She taught in California before moving back to Georgia where she graduated from South Gwinnett just like me. She knows what she is doing and allows you to make mistakes. If you just can not do a task then she will show you how. I like how she does not yell but the funny thing is I like about her is how she starts out low and gets higher in her voice when tell you to slow down or speed up.
