We were in Bath for the first time and spotted a chocolate shop on the corner. It's a tiny store that was packed with customers. Tom and I spotted cocoa containers on the wall - we could order hot cocoa and coffee with any depth of chocolate flavor! We went for the darkest chocolate they had and, because it was around Easter, we bought a small bag of chocolate Easter eggs. Those chocolates were smoother and more delicious than the chocolate we had in Belgium.
The drink. It was thick and balanced. How nice to have a hot cocoa/coffee that lets the flavor come out. It was so cold we took a chance and are so glad that the UK has a refreshingly healthy look at sugar and uses less, even in chocolate drinks. We sat on a nearby bench and about halfway into our drinks, noticed that we were sitting between the shop and a Cathedral! We actually took pics from our bench, not realizing the wall behind us was the Roman Baths! The coffee opened our eyes so after drinking half of the drink, and we strolled around the square and then visited the Roman Baths.
We visited a few countries on the trip and no chocolate tasted better than what we purchased in Bath, England. We're visiting the UK in a few months and now I know that if I'm going to eat sweets, or enjoy the best hot cocoa I ever had, I need to go to Mrs. Potts. This time I'll buy more than a little pack of Easter eggs. Some might even make it back home! Maybe. read more
