You think it, they probably have it. This place has that nostalgic atmosphere and sweet aromas which make you feel so good just by being in the shop. You can't go wrong with chocolate anything and English toffee that'll stick to your teeth; these are the stuff that your friends dream of. And it's so much better than that Roman Bath magnet that's just gonna sit there and collect dust. Thank me later! ;-)

The shop assistants are welcoming and helpful, and extremely patient since they must spend their day waiting for people to make up their minds between the bon bons or the love hearts. Buttered brazils, strawberry Fizz Wizzes, humbugs of various stripes, liquorice is all its awful guises (I hated it) including the packet of sherbert with a liquorice stick inside like a small firework. Those flying-saucer sherbets in different art-deco colours; aniseeed balls, pear drops, barley sugar, sarsparilla, sherbert lemons. A treasure trove. Interestingly, most are still made in Scotland and the North of England. It's a labour of love by the owner, Judith Burnett, to keep each jar stocked. How lucky we are that she does.
