    Breakfast taco
    C B.

This place is literally a house. Very interesting. I came for a bean egg and cheese breakfast taco, but that was not an option. I had to get a bacon potato and egg taco with beans and cheese. Fwiw, there were onions in there also. No big deal, definitely made the taco better. Had the option of corn or flour tortillas, they recommended flour. The taco was hot and chewy, salsa was fresh but was overwhelmed by the other ingredients. Id get 2 in the future. Will have to return to try the barbacoa

    Cooking at its best.

I absolutely love finding small family owned restaurants. You can literally taste the love that they out into their food. I highly recommend this place.

This place is the definition of "a hole in the wall". It's in the middle of a residential neighborhood but don't let that detour you. They serve just 4 items plus corn and flour tortillas. I got a pound of barbacoa and it was done to perfection, flavorful and not a lot of fat and grease like most other places. The owners and staff, all seemed to be family, were friendly a service was quick. They're only open on Saturday and Sunday and until they sell out so get there early.

The most authentic flavor item in my lunch was the refried beans that look like poop at first sight. Rice was bland with cumin flavor and the mole was the most disappointing. Might as well have called them regular enchiladas, the flavor was basic taco mix with a tiny taste of mole. Just a thick cumin or comino paste. Enchiladas should be dripping with sauce in the inside. These were dry tortillas that were barely garnished with sauce on top. The chicken inside was very flavorul but dry. Then the 16 oz lemonade was 4$ and it was super sour ! I never leave reviews. But this was truly disappointing.

The corn, the bacon wrapped jalapeños and the nachos with tinga chicken. The corn had something bitter in it I chalked it up to the lime, little to much but I'm sure can be ordered without. The bacon wrapped jalapeños were perfectly made and zero fire which I appreciate. The nachos were huge half corn tortillas with refried black beans and cheese when I added the chicken I didn't realize it would add 14 dollars to my nachos!! lol I honestly thought it made the nachos 14 dollars. The sweet tea is soooooo good So I said maybe based on my $59.00 lunch bill.

However, I would imagine that, depending on your taste, it might be hit or miss, but that is strictly subjective. I got a Birria taco and a Picadillo taco. The birria was amazing (see pic) with pulled beef, cilantro, and onion (typical traditional style), the other one was some kind of minced meat and potato (still good but not even close to the birria. Also, I got a "large" shake and the thing is the size of a 7-11 slushie!! However, I think the ice cream had some homemade element to it, because it was kinda gritty and icee. Didnt have a tone of flavor, but not big deal. Final thought: I gave it a 4* but it is VERY close to 5. The birria was a 5* for sure. Will definitely go again because they have like 20 different breakfast tacos that I need to try. Since I am a breakfast, brunch, and brinner kind of guy, breakfast tacos are good any time of day!

Their tortillas are fresh and homemade every time. Honestly good enough to take home and eat on their own smothered in butter. The barbacoa tacos are one of my go-to orders. Always consistent. The papas a la mexicana are another favorite, sometimes with some eggs mixed in. Horchata is excellent too. I usually sip some on the way home and mix the rest into my coffee. I haven't made it there for lunch or dinner yet, but for breakfast tacos, this is one of the best spots on this side of Corpus.
