Dave's Master Floor Care - Fully sanded, repaired natural stain finish

I needed my engineered hardwood floors refinished, and the first company I contacted barely looked…read moreat them before telling me they were too far gone and needed to be replaced. Thankfully, I got a second opinion from Dave's Master Floor Care. Dave carefully inspected the entire floor and explained that refinishing was possible -- and he delivered outstanding results with good value. Dave is thorough and an excellent communicator. He explained the types of wear on my floors and outlined his refinishing strategy step by step. With little room for error on this type of flooring, I appreciated his clear approach -- there's no "undo" button with refinishing! Dave also has tools I've never seen before -- it felt like he had a gadget for every challenge that came up. Plus, he's been doing this for years, so he knows how different stains and woods react. I even learned a bit along the way. And the best part? Dave does the work himself. Sometimes he brings an assistant to help with simple stuff, but you're really hiring him -- not a random crew. After seeing what he did with the floors, I also had him fix some big cracks in my garage and driveway too. Same story: great work, no fuss. If you want someone knowledgeable, equipped, and detail-oriented, I highly recommend Dave's Master Floor Care.

I found Dave through Yelp and, as usual, I am always a little suspicious of contractors I find…read morethrough an app but Dave really put my mind at ease once I spoke to him and heard how knowledgeable he was about flooring. He provided a consultation for my indoor floors, but then I had him also look at my garage floor and he said he was able to do the work I was looking for, which is what I will be reviewing here today. I had a few cracks in my garage floor and was looking to Epoxy it to protect it for the winter. Dave explained to me his process and how it differs from the competition which helps keep his cost low. The best part about Dave was that he stuck to the quote he gave me, with no surprises or additional ask for money, and he started when he said he would, got the job done quick, and finished when he said he would - anyone who has worked with contractors before knows this is a rarity! Dave was respectful and treated the place with care, and I would recommend his work to others. We think the garage looks great! Dave is passionate about his work and did tend to over-explain some things to me, so some people might enjoy that more than others but it was great to hear how much he knew about the subject!

I asked for a schedule for completion and was given none. I asked for the date when Owen would come by the house to start the job and was not given an exact date. When Owen did arrive, he complained to me about the difficulty of removing the paint on the deck. He then mentioned he had to wear a hazmat suit and use so much paint thinner that he had chemical burns on his arms. I informed Owen that it is his responsibility to follow safe handling of the chemicals for the job. He then stated that he would have to get back to me after talking with Alex. Weeks went by and I had to reach out to Alex to get an answer. Alex then stated that they would need to add $400 to the initial quote in order to complete the job. I agreed to this change order. Weeks later yet I received an email from Alex stating that they would need to rent an industrial sander to remove the paint on our deck and that was estimated at $100 per day above the $400 change order. This was unacceptable and I terminated the job, asking for the remainder of my deposit check back. It has been two weeks as of 7/22/17 since I have heard anything from Alex or Owen. I am beyond dissatisfied. Do not use this company.

They showed up to work on the job when they said they would, painting my exterior with precision and care and stayed on the job until it was completed. This home is a three story Victorian with areas that are not easy to reach, and intricate trim that is unusual. They were professional, competent, and skilled at their craft. They were considerate by caulking joints that needed it, pointed out issues I could not see from the ground on my three story home, and completing the work to my expectations. The price was very reasonable and they did a walk around to confirm the work. They have a small town "responsible for their work" value system that left me feeling that they were trustworthy and honest. They were careful with my exterior plantings. The work they did has added to the value of my home but it was done with such ease that I wish I could have them do all of the maintenance work (plumbing, electrical etc) as it was so easy for me, and that is not my usual experience. I have contracted with them to do interior work, and would be ok with them in my home when I am at work based on the care they showed for my property. As a woman, I am thrilled to work with craftsmen who show respect for me and my instructions. Corey and his crew are so professional and respectful that I would recommend them to my elderly female relatives with confidence that they would be treated well. I confidently recommend them to anyone who has exterior or interior painting needs as of their competence, straight-forward approach, professional and courteous interactions, that are done in a timely manner with customer service as their motto. I was fortunate to have them beautify my home. Check out their website to view some of the work they have completed.

He does dry wall if needed for ceilings and walls then paints them to look wonderful. He created a very fresh look with his work which now shows off the beauty of my home. He is great working with women or older customers as he has a kind and cooperative manner. He showed up on time and worked until he finished the job. He was willing to do research on unusual requests and aims to please. The rates he charges are very competitive, and after he did the exterior I had many neighbors ask for his number. He is the real deal of being a craftsman with the work he does. I would hire him again and do so knowing it would be stress free.

They scheduled our quote really quickly, which was nice. Once we accepted the quote, it did take a bit to hear back (I followed up a couple of times via email) to schedule. The paint crew just left after completing the job and it looks amazing! They were super polite & friendly, & asked for clarification on a couple of things, rather than just assuming. The job was done before noon &, other than the new paint color, it looks like they were never here. All in all, I'd say we got some bang for our buck & would hire these guys again!

Today is day 13 and not only are they not done but no one has been here for the last 5 days. Half of the doors were the wrong size and have to be remade. Those won't be done for another 2 weeks and they are saying we need to pay for half the cost of the new doors. There are paint drips and places that are really rough. When the first guy came out to give us a quote we were told they could give us a mock up with different paint colors and that the project manager would be here day 1 and the last day to oversee things. None of that has happened. We had to call 2 days before the project was supposed to start to ask if they wanted to know the paint color we had chosen. I was so excited to start our remodel and it has been a really disappointing and frustrating experience.
