If you need floors polished, they're fine, but I would recommend using anyone else for showers. The owner said everything was fine. I sent him photos and he sent the same person back. They couldn't do anything about mildew, so I cleaned the grout on the floor before they sealed it. Looks like they put black marks on the white tile on the walls while scrubbing, and they didn't clean the grout. Worst part, is it seems like they're trying to do a good job, but not able to achieve it. We we used them 6 years ago we were thrilled with the results, but stay away if you want tile and grout work.

I messaged them for over a week and they deliberately ignored me. They just want to collect your money and run. Very unprofessional in they way they handled the entire process. They made lame excuses for the bad grout job, didn't stand by their work, asked for more money, then ignored me when I asked questions and asked them to come back out to fix it. Here is the text message to prove it.

Estimate Total: $7,814.16. (May 2018) Job was Completed the first week of December 2018. Final Cost: Stairs: $2,369 (16 Stairs) Labor: $3,136.50 (597 Square feet) $3,536.84 (Wood) Total: $9,042.34 Note: Joe said the cost of the wood went up because of the Tariffs and trade wars. This caused the wood price to go up and my final price to increase. This also includes the additional hidden cost for leveling (I will discuss this in further detail below) Joe (Owner): Very nice and completed a fast quote in a timely manner. Does not perform an on-site post job inspection. Very hard to get a hold of to fix an issue. Will not fix an issue if it will cost him more money. Contract (estimate): Very detailed, I highly recommend you read every section and have a clear understanding of the contact before he performs work. One of the hidden contract fees are leveling, Joe gave me a very not good answer as to why this is not included in the initial estimate. I was charged an additional $540 for 6 square feet of concrete in various locations. I would have been ok with the charge, he could have at least had an estimated cost. As his contracts say estimate at the top. I take the blame for not accounting for this cost, I did not think I would have to pay an extra $500. I did not take off for this in my final three-star rating. Communication: Very poor, I had issues after the job, and he would not answer the phone. I would call for a few days before I received a response. He will respond rapidly if you offer him a new job. Then he would recommend fixing the issue with the new job. None of the workers speak English very well or at all, I don't have a problem with this issue. I did have a problem when they did not re-install the stand on my cabinets. They did not understand the issue and I still have a stand not install on my cabinet. Cleanliness: The workers left wood dust daily and left a shirt and wood pieces. The workers retrieved the shirt three days after I let Joe know. Joe apologized. Workers: The workers changed twice in during the job, I would have liked to have the same workers every-day. Or at least one familiar face. Craftsmanship: I had a squeak in my floor during installation, I alerted the guys as the installed the floors. They ignored me (communication issue), once completed I alerted Joe and he had them come out two weeks later and use all of my extra wood to fix the issue. The squeak is still in my floors.

Our initial communication went smoothly, and I was quoted $1,100 for the job, scheduled to begin on May 29. In hindsight, Stephen did seem a bit pushy about securing a deposit, which should have been a red flag--but I went ahead and paid a $240 deposit via Zelle on May 24. The evening before the scheduled job, I hadn't heard anything, so I reached out to confirm the appointment. Stephen replied with an arrival time, but then messaged me the next morning at 7 AM saying he had Covid and wouldn't be able to start. He offered a refund or the option to reschedule. I chose to receive a refund and asked to be contacted when he was feeling better to reschedule. Unfortunately, it's now June 5, and despite multiple follow-ups and repeated assurances, I still haven't received my refund. I was told it would be returned by 3 PM today--again, nothing. This experience has been incredibly disappointing. I urge anyone considering The Grout Express to be cautious. If a deposit is required, avoid using payment methods like Zelle that offer no protection. Use a credit card so you can dispute the charge if necessary. I trusted this business, and now I'm left chasing a refund for a job that never even began.

He then claims he wants to "contract the work out" instead. When I declined, he responded with 'since you're refusing, I'm not giving a refund.' This "contracting out" excuse was already tried once with the imaginary technician. Now, in a last-ditch effort, he claims I have structural damage, which he and I both know I don't have. I re-grouted the area myself after all this drama... and I'm a rookie! It looks and holds just fine. Bottom line: tile cleaning was good, but the follow-through was a disaster. Steve makes promises, dodges accountability, and fabricates stories. If you're considering The Grout Express, know this: once he's paid, you're on your own.

My floors were clean , but they still looked pretty much the same as before. I was disappointed, but didn't make a fuss. However, in the 3-4 weeks since Total Finish treated my floors, large numbers of deep holes have been appearing in my floor, as if it is disintegrating. This morning so many new holes appeared that I called Lorenzo in a panic. He came by this evening and before even getting from the front door to the living room (while still in entryway) declared that the damage had already been there (even before seeing all of the damage). He then implied that I was lying. I immediately called the realtor and former homeowner IN FRONT of Lorenzo. When the former owner confirmed that the floors were not damaged at the time of sale, Lorenzo again insinuated that I was lying, implying that I wasn't actually talking to the former owner. I then texted several other witnesses who also confirmed the previous condition of my floors, yet Lorenzo refused to even consider that they might have caused the damage. The fact that he appeared to abdicate all responsibility before even seeing the extent of the damage, as well as calling me a liar, was disappointing. This is not the way a decent, honorable, honest, and ethical company does business. I am a nurse and work hard for my money. I don't have $3500 to flush down the drain and then pay even more to fix the damage this company caused. I feel cheated, scammed, insulted, and lied to. He then sent me a partial video in which the guys who actually worked on the floors appear to complain about not being tipped (as I had to go to medical appointment and they were not finished)? I would never hire this company to work on terrazzo floors, and I intend to pursue every avenue of lawful remedy available to me, including but not limited to taking them to court. They claim to offer a guarantee but then appear to attempt to wriggle their way out by falsely claiming any damage was pre-existing. This is not the way our fathers did business. Regardless, the damage present now (with new holes appearing daily) is NOT present in the video they themselves took. Something is seriously wrong with my floors, and these damages and ongoing issues were not present before Total Finish worked on my floors.added photos hope they upload.
