3 man crew arrived on time. 1 supervisor and 2 other bodies. Happy with the refinish of the front door, but........ Quoted as a 1 day job, took 2 more days. Supervisor never returned as was promised on the subsequent days. 2 workers left behind to do complete weatherstripping of 5 doors was a disaster. Damaged my alarm system, unprofessional and constantly bickering between themselves, left trails of dirt in the house. I've hired someone else to fix shoddy work and repair alarm. I received a quote to refurbish my front door. I offered to have somebody come to inspect the door in order to prepare the bid. The representative on the telephone said that she could see the door from (presumably) Google and there was no need to come out to inspect. I agreed to the price quote. Two gentlemen showed up to do the work. Immediately, they told me the bid had not been prepared correctly and said the new price would be (substantially) higher. I told them goodbye. An unethical company. Stay away from them! I can see why they have not attempted to get a Better Business Bureau rating. read more

Even though their website has many positive reviews, I will not recommend this company. They did a bad job of weatherstripping around our back door. When I told one of the workers that it was not satisfactory, he blamed it on the worker that installed the weatherstripping which is very unprofessional. I called and texted the company and received a call back the following day. They apologized to us. They wanted to come back to remove the trim, fix the screw holes, and paint the door. after finishing the job and getting paid, they schedule an appointment to meet at our house between the hours of 3-5 PM. It was the first week of spring break and our young children were out of school, so we would be out of town. We decided that my wife would drive 2 hours back home, meet with the technician and then drive 2 hours back to out spring break area. my wife was early to our house, and they never called or showed up. now my wife has to stay at our house while my kids are at the camping area I'm with our kids. a simple phone call would have been nice but a no call no show is just unacceptable and unprofessional. I ish I would not have laid them as they have now ruined two days out of our spring break and caused more of a head ache than it was worth. read more

We have a double, 8' front door that faces the south, direct sunlight, and needed refinishing. Rick's did the job perfectly and put on extra coats to make the finish last longer. They also replaced the weatherstripping on several other external doors while they were here. Great results and much less expensive than another company I got a quote from. We would not recommend this company due to poor communication and lack of professionalism. We had them refinish our front door and replace the sweep and weatherstripping on 2 doors. The crew left trash, interrupted/yelled for me while I was on a work call I warned them about, left holes in one door, and put the clear coat over dust on the other door. I called and the owner came out and agreed the work needed to be redone. We scheduled our appointment for the repair to be done today between 3-5. Today they tried to reschedule multiple times (including showing up unannounced in the morning) then during our appt window they tried to cancel/reschedule for tomorrow. The work is done and the quality is ok, but the aggravation it has taken to get it done is not worth it. read more

I've really struggled to keep my front door looking good. It gets direct west sun and I have paid several times to get it refinished and often the finish starts to fade within 6 months. This time however I used Rick's Door refinishing. What an excellent job they did. I paid extra for the marine spar urethane finish (4 coats). The door looks beautiful. Very dissapointed in service this Spring as in 2016 it was great. My door looked better than new after Richard refinished it 3-1/2 yrs ago. I referred numerous friends to them as no one in my neighborhood had a door as beautiful as mine after Richard worked on it. Now April 2020, it was very shiny after they finished even though the tech said he used satin finish and it just had to dry. He said in 5 days it would look great. At the end of that time it looked just like when he left. It's a beautiful solid wood door, walnut stain and now the finish looks like cheap Chinese modern furniture. They were going to send him back out a month later. He called me a few hrs. before and basically talked me out of coming. He said he was going to do the same thing to it and it would NOT look any different. I know it CAN look different because I saw it when Richard first refinished it in 2016. I called the office to talk to owner, but went straight to voice mail. I left a message. No one has called. I will no longer refer them to my friends. read more

Great company. This is our second time to have our front door refinished since 1996 and the refinish was perfect both times. The door takes direct sunlight every morning and is subject to weathering, but Rick's has allowed us to keep on going without having to replace the door. read more
