Due to his skepticism, I wasn't sure that he would actually like Mr. Puffs. And he didn't like them. He loved them! We went with a mix of donuts including honey, cinnamon sugar, and apple cinnamon. While they were all good, the honey was really where it was at in my humble, non-donut loving opinion. The guy working the counter was friendly and offered great suggestions for us since we were Mr. Puffs virgins. The location was well-kept and had both indoor and outdoor seating, which was perfect for a night that was cooling off quickly as the sun went down. The vibe is bright, cheerful, and welcoming, and the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They even offered samples to help us decide, which I really appreciated. These things are addictive! The best way I can describe them is like a donut hole with a twist--crispy on the outside, while the inside reminded me of Brazilian cheese bread. Wandered into this place on a whim and was super satisfied with the experience. My kids with went with ice cream, which is more like frozen custard. It was rich, creamy, and went down like silk. Also, the puffs were surprisingly good. I was expecting something more like a donut or a cream puff, but it was similar to a cruller on the inside. So glad I got to try this place when we were in Montréal. We just finished eating dinner and we decided to walk around and find a dessert place and we found this place. Although, when we walked in, it was closed and a sign was posted saying they'll be back in 5 minutes. So we decided to take pictures around the area and went in again later on. Holy Moly, if you have never tried Mr. Puff than you have to try them. They are super amazing and super delicious. It is hard to describe. They are not like the Tim Horton's donut and they are not like any donuts balls even though they look like them. Ok so B and I came and ordered the Bueno with ice cream. the ice cream was nice, soft and creamy. It was perfect for a hot day. The puffs were the amazing part. It was soft inside and crunchy on the outside. The bueno drizzles gave it that nice sweet taste. B and I have no idea what is bueno but all we know is that it is super delicious. This location is located in Old Montreal in the tourists area. Mr. Puff is a must try if you have never had them before. I wish they come to Vancouver! read more

Stumbled upon this spot while walking through the city. What caught my eye were the puffballs and I have to say I'm happy I stopped to try. The puffballs are pretty much fried dough balls. You can order these separate but I would probably recommend getting the puffs with the side of soft serve ice cream. The combination was to die for! I had the dulce de leche which didn't taste exactly like it, I believe it was because of the chocolate dipping on the ice cream taking over the flavor, but I didn't care! These were so good. They taste like funnel cake balls. We got 5 sweet cream puffs with dulce de leche ice cream. The topping hardens over the ice cream like ganache. After seeing a couple of videos on the internet raving about how good Mr. Puffs was, I knew I had to go to one during my trip up to Canada from the states. Let me tell you, they tasted way better than I expected and did not disappoint! We went here on New Year's Day and this place was packed. This location is somewhat small with a couple tables and the toilet was out of service when I went. Hours for this day were dependent on how busy they would get. The cashier was super friendly and helpful, speaking both fluent French and English. I ordered 12 choco hazelnut to go and ate them outside with my family. We all loved them so much we came back right after to get 30 more for the road! One day I'll come back and try their other flavors, but hopefully they'll open a location near NYC before then. read more

I was obsessed with Mr. Puffs while in Montreal. I was there for a week and visited 3 times... This is the only place I know of that serves loukmas with such a variety of toppings and quantities. They were also the best I've ever had, even though the ones you get in Vancouver aren't great to begin with. The loukmas are always perfectly fried to golden brown and topped generously with a wide variety of sauces and things. My favourite is the nutella followed closely by the classic honey and cinnamon. They also have a delicious creme l'anglaise that I, um, ate by the spoonful a lot of the time. To be honest the food I had in Montreal was ok by Vancouver standards (I am so sorry but if anyone wants to prove me wrong with suggestions, please please do) but Mr. Puffs was such a standout to me lol. If I'm ever back here, this is probably the first place I'm going to. Hope to see them in Vancouver maybe someday! read more

The Puffs are Greek style fried balls called Loukoumades, Mr. Puffs offers an extensive variety of toppings. I must say these are the best "loukoumades" or puffs I had outside Greece. They were made fresh and were crispy outside and soft on the inside. I paired with a strong fredo espresso and both were delicious. In Greece the fredo espresso has knocked out from the throne, the frappe iced coffee in popularity. It will take some years until other coffee shops catch up with this popular coffee. Until then enjoy this coffee at Mr. Puffs in Montreal or the Greek cafes in Astoria Queens in New York. read more

Pretty good spot to hit if you're in the area. Food ( 6/10 ): The puff balls themselves were super light and fluffy but the strawberry sauce they added on top was so overwhelmingly sweet, it was hard to eat. Another downside of this place is that, according to their worker, almost all of their puff balls contained peanuts. Those with peanut allergies, beware!! However, one upside to this location. When we paid for 12, we got somewhere closer to 20. Service ( 7/10 ): Overall, I'm sure service is great here but as a tourist, I struggled quite a lot trying to understand what was happening. Unfortunately, the worker didn't understand very much English so I struggled to find out which flavor was the correct one and safe for consumption. I had always gotten their desserts from food trucks so this was my first time in a brick and mortar store. It is very busy since it is located in the old port so it wasn't the cleanest. I got the 6 puffs and drink combo. My drink was a swirl milkshake (never seen that before but loved it! Even the service was spectacular when I visited (if any managers are reading, it was a very kind young lady who served me at around 9pm Tue Oct 8), a wonderful surprise all around. Highly recommend. I was at old port ice skating with my friends and we all decided to go to Mr. Puffs afterwards, but they were closing, but they offered to give their leftovers cause it was going to be thrown out, we thought we were going to get one box but no we got multiple boxes of Mr. puffs each box with different flavors all for free!!!!
