You can't go wrong with Mr. Pibs breakfasts either. I've NEVER been disappointed with any of their breakfast selections. I went with my son this morning. He had the Porky omelette which has ham, pork sausage patties, bacon, along with Swiss, American and shredded Cheddar cheese. I had the Irish omelette which had corned beef hash in it and sausage gravy on top. Both breakfasts were more than we could eat ! As always, the wait staff was amazing. I've only gone to Mr Pips about two times and when I went they were pretty good both times I would rate it more of a two and a half star than three because the service people were not the kindest and the food I had I had biscuits and gravy for breakfast when I went and it was quite salty and I don't like when my foods are salty I like if they're under salted and then I can salt them to my liking but the ambience is it's not Diner like but it's more Western. :) read more

We are new to the area and this restaurant was highly recommended. We too were here on "opening weekend" of gun huntingseason. Though the place was pretty busy, a waitress greeted us and brought our coffee quickly. Yes, we had about a 20 minute wait before our breakfast was brought, but "with that kind of crowd it was "expected". The wait was made pleasant by the cheerful waitress and staff which "all seem to work well together" in filling "everyones cup with refills of coffee". Unlike "your local "Big Boys or other Francises. Where you pat 1.75 for a coffee and have to SEARCH for a gal to bring you a refill. When our breakfast arrived it was "a lot" and DELICIOUS!"...Their "sausage gravy" is really good, full of sausage bits and great flavor! Not "floury tasting". I hade the breakfast burrito, and "because I don't trust restaurant sausage gravy" I asked for mine on "the side" instead of on top of my breakfast burrito". I "did end up pouring it on top, as it was yummy! We "will be returning for supper, as I hear "their "liver and onions" are great too! Oh, and on Fridays the "fish and shrimp buffet" is great too.I hear that it includes "broasted chicken" at $14.95 per adult. We'll see...I'll keep you posted! Worst food I have had in ages. I ordered the "White Pine Trail Scrambler" and it came out over done. It was one piece, tough, and the cheese was burnt and could be compared to eating a rubber chicken. The waitress only asked if we were done. When we mentioned about the dish when we left, they stated they never had a complaint about the dish. Paid my bill and left. Won't plan on going back. read more

Mr Pibbs has consistently good Pizza. Plenty of cheese and toppings.. I ordered the tossed salad and that wasn't the greatest.. Pretty much lettuce with cheese and bacon bits. It would be nice if they threw in some more veggies even if I had to pay a little more.....The great pizza made me not feel so bad about the salad that was lacking...Definetly a good place to go. read more

My husband and son ordered the buffet, and I ordered off the menu. My food was very good. They say they close at 10 pm but kept asking if they were done eating at 9pm because there employees wanted to eat. I am sorry but if you are opened till 10 then I feel that you have to have the buffet opened till then. It's like they kept staring at us to hurry up and leave so they could eat. Stumble upon this place on a recent trip to friends new cabin. There doesn't seem to be many choices in the area but this one was a good one. It's your typical small town eatery and we felt like everybody in the place looked at us when we walked in. But that was OK as everyone seemed friendly. We ordered a basket of mozzarella sticks and enjoyed them so much that we ordered a second. I chose the fish basket and enjoyed it aside from the fact that it was a bit overdone. Portion size was huge and some of us brought a part of the meal home. My extra star over Pete's is for the ice cream. We watched folks at another table get cones and couldn't resist. For $1.85 I planned to get a small cone and was served a huge portion of quality ice cream (I think it was Hudsonville). It was a great finish to our meal. Probably an amazing spot no matter what, but it's thee place to go after a hike. Burger was fantastic, stromboli hit me real right, lovely woodwork around, friendly service (no surprise there in N. MI). Can't say enough good things. They take cleanliness serious too- servers cleaned and sanitized tables when people left, my table was immaculate. Mr. Pibs is one of my favorite places for breakfast. The Irish Omelette, the White Pine Trail Scrambler and the Breakfast Burrito are three of my favorites. I have never actually eaten at Mr. Pibbs, but, this summer they started selling their cookies at the Chase Express gas station in Chase. The cookies are the really good. However, I think that they keep them on the shelf too long. You'll gain more fans if your selling a consistently good product. Hopefully next time my cookies are fresh and yummy... Will never order from there again. Order hot Turkey sandwich dinner. Received two thick slices of bread. All slime dark meat. Very little meat. And have the carry out box was mash potatoes also order 3 chicken strip dinner. Very little fries. Never have I ever got all dark meat on a hot Turkey sandwich. Classic small town dining. Food was tasty and very abundant. Gotta love the fresh baked bread and chips! Didn't try the Friday night buffet, but most folks there were diving into piles of frog legs from the buffet (they have frog legs the last Friday of every month... not sure what they have on other Friday's). Second try with this restaurant to get dinner on my lunch hour which is 30 minutes long. Called my order in at 7.15 pm told them I would pick it up at 8.30 pm. Again order was not done had to wait 15 minutes and not one customer in the building but me. Guess I will have to go to Travelers from now on. Was there around 8pm on 7-19-14. We usually do carry out but decided to eat in an take a carry out home for my husband. The place was maybe half full. Service was so SLOW we almost left. The food was good but we waited so long for a waitress to come back I finally got up and asked for two carry out boxes and our bill. It didn't seem to matter to the staff.
