From the outside, the place looks rather decrepit and the people who work there are clearly unskilled and ignorant. My boyfriend spilt diesel gasoline on his shirt, hands, and face and the workers inside would not allow him to use the restroom to wash himself. Despite the fact that working at a gas station does not necessitate skilled labor, there ought to be some education on hazmat as to avoid the possibility of serious repercussions. I do not think it takes much intelligence to understand that someone covered in gasoline must wash it off, especially if they live hours away. So, overall the staff who had been there at the time should consider a new, less difficult job and some money should be put towards bettering the appearance of the place.

Overall the store is decent sized but the isles can get congested as only two carts can just squeeze thru. Forget about going after church on a Sunday or on any day before a snowstorm! Also, There are usually many folks jumping across the border to enjoy sales tax free groceries. I do not spend much time in the area now but it used to be the cheapest place to grab food. Usually plenty of parking if you are willing to walk a bit. Although this Market Basket location isn't like the newer attraction stores (dining, fresh food, lots of takeout, etc.); it offers a great selection of foods made onsite and brought it. On my last visit I noticed they have added a sandwich station onto the bakery.

I went in today to get a replacement birthday cake for my daughter (because the one I paid bank for over the weekend was beautiful on the outside but a sugary, inedible mess on the inside). The bakery team (especially Ginger!) was so helpful and pleasant it was a joy doing business with them. If you want a simple, sincere cake from a straightforward bakery at a fair price, dealing with nice people this is the place to go!

We walked the woods, attentively, i'll say, because over the last year we've seen critters including a bobcat, occasional black bears and deer, and the year before a porcupine. We picnicked on the boat and on our friends' shore. The only public access we know of is the $25 ramp behind the well-stocked North of the Border convenience store on US-202, on the NH/MA border at the west tip of the lake. On the lake in the summer, there's lots of pontoons and boats, jet skis, and kayaks and canoes, for boating, skiing, and fishing. As far as I know, there are no public beaches or shores. The lakefront is all private property.
