I rented a machine for a Boxing day get together. In short the machine never got cold enough to make the margarita because it was overheating. Waste of $150.00 dollars. When this was relayed to the business they just said they would check and see if it was working properly. My patience was short with them. They didn't offer any compensation for their machine not working. They also claim they had no delivery despite a truck in their driveway. If I could have left no stars I would have. This is specifically for Mr Margarita Katy. He was very unorganized, and I needed to reach out several times just to confirm the date and pay for the services. He called me on the day of the party to ask me what time the party started (even after sending several emails to remind him). He dropped off the incorrect mix ( I asked for the Hurricane mix and he set up Strawberry, even after commented all the liquor we bought that was recommended for the Hurricane, again after emails and texts specifying what we wanted). When I told him I was displeased, his response was next time we rent, we will get a Hurricane mix for free. This will absolutely be my one and done with Mr Margarita Katy !!!!!! read more

Rented a margarita machine for my retirement/birthday party to be held Saturday evening. Picked up the machine Friday evening as instructed. Saturday at 1:00PM I prepared the margarita mix and poured into machine. Started it running. After a few minutes the compressor kicked on to begin freezing. Two minutes later the compressor quit. Five minutes later it kicked back on but for only about 10 seconds and continued this cycling. The compressor was overheating. Also, the tank was leaking. Called at 1:30 and was told they would have another delivered in an hour. No problem as I had until 4:00 to pick up the BBQ and birthday cake - each at different locations. Went about setting up for the party. One hour passed then another half. I called back and was told the driver had been given two to deliver. Mine was to be first but he went to the other location first - 30 minutes away making over an hour delay! Finally arrived at 3:30! And I still had running around to do before guests were to arrive at 6:30! Was told that if there was anything wrong with this machine they stop taking service calls at 6:30 but would refund me. A lot of good that would do me once the party started! Thankfully this one worked. CONDITION OF MACHINES - Mr Margarita's machines are old; really old! As you read, the 1st one didn't even work and was beat up. The 2nd was also beat up and had its case held together with duct tape. Once the cooling system got warm, thick syrupy goo started dripping out the bottom of the machine. Made me wonder how well they actually "sanitize" the machines between uses. SUPPLIES - 25 cups and straws were provided. But - instead of a sealable 5 gallon carboy for preparing the mix you get an open 5 gallon bucket. For one thing, it can't be too sanitary and 2nd it's difficult to pour the mix in without creating a mess. CONCLUSION - The margaritas were great but I'll take credit for that by not using cheap ingredients. However, I do not recommend Mr Margarita for the machine rental and will use another business next time. read more

We had a positive experience with Mr Margarita. A contract was emailed to me beforehand in advanced notice. It looked sketchy in going to get it as we drove into a residential area but that's where they keep the machines. The guy who was there provided plenty of details concerning the machine. He also provided documentation regarding care. He helped load it into the back of the truck. The machine was in good order, not dirty or broken, and worked as soon as we plugged it in and put the mixture. The margarita mix was of good quality and was the perfect consistency when we followed the directions on the website. Although we had a small party, we ended up using two mixes over the course of two days. All in all, we would rent again. Everyone loved it and it was totally worth the rental price. SCAM.. FRAUD... My experience with these con artist was awful from the start. Unprofessional & awful customer service. I was very excited for this company, on the web site they truly said all the right things. A bit pricey but I figured it's my B-day celebration, I'll splurge. So my first experience was a horrid one. First after spending 185 dollars on a double sided machine. I received a confirmation e-mail. In the title of the subject of the email it said, confirmation etc etc pick up Friday. (I hadn't paid attention to the subject I must admit) In the body of the e-mail it says Highlighted & bold print must have truck or suv. Pick up on Thursday. ! I had made it there Thursday to pick up. On Thursday I had gone on time, to be told No pick up on Friday. I showed them print out of e-mail, which clearly had highlighted the info. They refused, and slightly annoyed I left, and returned the next day. While Picking up Equipment we briefly met the tech guy, David. He briefly explained how to use it.That the leg was damaged, so the machine was supported by 3 legs. Party comes by, followed all instructions, started making slushies. After about making ten drinks, it stops working. We call tech guy, David tells us, ohh I forgot to tell you, if you don't have alcohol in it, it will tend to freeze up. Wait for 30 minutes and start it again. 30 minutes go by, an hour goes by (during party mind you) he tells us, theres A block of ice, he'll come out to check it out but he's 99% sure you just need to give it time, and it will melt. We drained all the liquid out and noticed there was a small amount of Ice in there. We texted David and told him don't worry about it, I'll wait. All Ice melted, still not responding at all. I texted the Tech asking him to come, then my NIGHTMARE began. I recieved a call from a hostile lady named Kendra. I politely explained situation & how I was unsatified. She then began to shout .... literally shout ...at me, saying how it's all my fault, I had broke there machine, they have a contract and that I'll owe them a new machine. She then began telling me that David didn't say this & that. Said I was a liar. Very upseting I tried to keep my composure & calmly wished her well & that I expect a refund. She told me the Owner will be there at the drop off time to talk to & discuss what happened. So after this unpleasant experience with the rude Kendra lady. I marked the serieral number and started taking photos. The power plug had exposed shething, broken support leg & found out the machine was twelve years old. TWELVE YEARS. Returned the machine, but no owner was there. The tech plugged it in, it worked for 5 seconds then stopped. He explained that the issue could have been it wasn't plugged in close enough to source, or breaker? We left and I had then composed a 2 - 3 page letter explaining everything that had happened, was as factual as possible, and explained that not only did the machine not work, but its truly unsafe to rent out to customers. (frayed wire, 3 legs) Sent it certified mail asking for a refund. To this day ZERO RESPONSE. I URGE YOU PLEASE RENT AT YOUR OWN RISK. IF YOU MUST RENT A MACHINE PLEASE RENT ELSEWHERE. I would give them 0 stars if I could! Waste of time and money!!! Customer Service is rude, and to top off their machines don't work. Please go rent somewhere else. This place is a joke. My husband and I had a party and had high hopes with this machine. We followed all the rules and had the machine started. Sounded like it was working but it never froze. I called for support and the lady was extremely rude and offered no help. Excuses were the power, the extension cords and so on. We switched that machine into so many different outlets and never worked. They show no concern for their clients. Rip off WASTE OF MONEY, TIME, AND LIQUOR!!! read more

Do not use this company! I booked with them over a month ago, gave them my credit card information they told me they would charge it 3 days prior. I cancelled it a week after I booked it, and 3 days before my wedding they charged my card. I did not realize this until I was checking my bank account and figured I would take care of it because I was very busy with my wedding. The day before my wedding they told me I needed to come pick up the margarita machine I told him I had cancelled it that I was wondering why they charge my credit card and the woman said that I never cancelled it and she would not give me my money back! She was very rude and told me there was nothing I could do. I've been in customer service all my life and have never treated anyone like this woman treated me right before my wedding. Don't waste your time renting their machines, they don't work. When you call them to tell them they don't work, they give you stupid excuses like your house isn't equipped to power their machine. I rent margarita machines at least once a month and never heard stupid excuses like that. My house was just built 3 years ago, so I think I can power a margarita machine. The leg on their machine was broken, and the power cord sucked all the way around. Wasn't able to use the machine for my party and when I returned it they say it works just fine. Next time I will just rent 2 machines for Rockthehouse Moonwalks instead of trying to use their janky double machine. Wish I would have read their reviews before I rented. read more

I can only speak for myself when I say that the lack of customer service at this place is very apparent. When I received my call back from my on-line reservation, the man (owner) was very rude, and seemed irritated that I was even wanting to book a machine. And even though I was not needing the machine for over 2 weeks, he said he had no Lemonade mix that I requested. Seemed really odd since that is the most popular flavor in Summer here and that he would not have any in 2 weeks, OR that he would not get some from another location. He was even more rude when I explained that I wanted something to mix with vodka... he spoke to me like I was an idiot and said that "no one drinks these with vodka!" So I then mentioned that the website has a whole recipe section for vodka drinks, then he was just irritated that I did not know what flavor I wanted since he had no Lemonade.. I can also say that it is all LIES about the Freeze time being an hour... That is a crock! We had our machine INSIDE and it took 4-1/2 hours to freeze and that was only after we just started serving the drinks on the rocks. The owner or his employees have obviously marked the bucket incorrectly & have way to much liquid going in these machines. Only after I went through this horrible experience did I see MANY, MANY other reviews stating almost the exact complaints on Yahoo reviews. And when I returned the machine no one ever asked if there were any problems, did it work out okay for the party... they just do not care to be quite honest. I have been in Customer Service for years, and this treatment is NOT how you get repeat business or good references. Do not speak to people like they are idiots and you are too busy to make a reservation, and then tell people that your machines freeze in an hour... LIES. And stop telling people (some of which are electricians) that it is the power supply that is the problem. Again more lies. We personally used a dedicated power source from the inside of the house and it still took 4-1/2 hrs. Sent email to inquire about renting a margarita machine and asked a couple questions, including pickup.Jill was kind enough (sarcasm) to reply and simply say I could only pickup in Pasadena and nothing else. She didn't even bother to answer my questions or provide me with alternatives (such as delivery and the cost of it). I guess they make enough money already. Wished I'd read the reviews before dealing with Mr. Margarita Pasadena location. We had a huge party set up for my 86 year old father. The margarita machine didn't work. I called Kindra to no avail. I talked with the so called technician for troubleshooting tips ( which I had already performed since I have been in the repair field for 31 years ). He suggested removing the extension cord and plugging directly in an outlet which I did. The machine wouldn't even cool the mixture so I knew at this point it definitely would not freeze. Just to apease this so called technician I then plugged the machine into a generator that runs my entire travel trailer and still nothing. I was told IF it was a true failure of equipment I would get a refund. The sad thing about the entire situation is not once did i get an apology! Nevertheless I will never rent from these guys again and I'd suggest you do the same. read more

AWFUL EXPERIENCE! First off the guy showed up 6 hours late to drop of the machine. Then it took 9 hours for the drinks to freeze. When we tried to call the owner he they yelled at us and blamed the whole situation on operator error. The driver who brought the machine has lied to the owner saying that we weren't there and that is why is was late but in reality he called us and informed us that he forgot our paper work. Do not waster your time or your money. I am still trying to get my money back. THe owner basically gave us all the excuses that Dave said in his review. read more
