You've gotta love Guy. There are other stylists here too, but this is really about Guy, as he is…read morethe only person I have ever been to. To get this level of personal attention, skill and vision in most places, you'd have to shell out some serious coin. But Guy charges a mere 16 or 18 bucks for a guy's haircut. He remembers you and remembers what you like. He makes appointments or will try to fit you in as needed. I thought about trying to save a few bucks by going to Great Cuts or whatever its called, but it is totally not worth it. First of all, the mall places won't do appointments, so when you get there after work, you have to end up waiting forever. Then you get some beauty school drop out smacking gum and talking on the phone to her boyfriend or whatever. Well, not anymore. You can feel like a star and get the special treatment for only a few bucks more than the mall places. It's well worth it. Also, I've noticed that Guy caters to a diverse clientele: ladies, young and old, even blue collar construction worker dudes just getting a buzz cut. So don't feel like you shouldn't try this place just because you want a simple short haircut. Guy can do that well too!

Sundance Kid is family owned and very posh without being pretentious--at least for Gettysburg. I…read morehad my hair done there all through high school and most of college, and it was never more than 30$ or so, including a tip! I never used any of the services other than having my hair dyed once, and it was so long ago I can't remember how much it cost--next time I go home I'll check. But they have a full range of services, including nails and massage. My favorite stylist is Sherri Wagaman. She is sweet, efficient, and always gives a great cut. Her husband Ed's talents are famous (in a small town way), so he is always booked. If Sherri is booked I'll ask for Liz, who has done my hair a few times, including for prom and before I went to Mexico on vacation--I made the mistake of getting that one professional dye job and the sun, sand, and surf stripped the color out of my hair in 3 days. Liz is the youngest in the salon and her take on hair is a little edgier--she'd do well in DC! Now that I have a wonderful hairdresser in DC I don't really get my hair done at home anymore--but you never know when you'll need an emergency fix, and it is good to know they are there!
