I've driven past this place for years and finally decided to stop in. I never see many cars parked outside, and when we went, my kids and I were the only customers there. The lobby area is very outdated and could definitely use some renovations. On a positive note, the lady at the front desk was very nice and informative, which I appreciated. We ordered the kids' teriyaki chicken meals with zucchini only, and I got the teriyaki shrimp and chicken combo with zucchini only as well. The shrimp were the small baby shrimp, and I was expecting regular-sized shrimp, so that was disappointing. Overall, the food was pretty bland. I had to take it home and add my own seasoning to make it better. My grandma did enjoy her meal, though. One thing I liked was that they serve bottled water instead of faucet water that was a nice touch. I love this place so much. I've been eating here for years. The service is wonderful and it's a cute little place. There's some booths and tables for seating. I ordered gyozas for the first time this evening and let me tell you....all six of them were gone is less than 5 minutes. Their sushi is SO good and is always fresh. Everything was decent but after taking the veggies out of the $15 Teriyaki or Hibachi Beef & Chicken it definitely wasnt worth what we paid. The Crab Rangoon was delicious and I really like their sauces although I wish I could add them on online. Worst Japanese food I've ever had. I made a yelp account just because I was astonished at how terrible everything was and wanted to save others from wasting their money. Didn't eat the salmon or tuna rolls because the fish tasted bad. The miso soup is beyond sour. My "fried rice" is literally white rice with soy sauce on it. My favorite is the lunch special hibachi beef. It comes with chicken fried rice, and crab Rangoon, all at the total of $8. The beef is sirloin, and is not fatty. The prices are so inexpensive, and the food is amazing. You get large orders. My wife and sister likes sushi. And they really like their sushi. Mr. Hibachi is operating on a take-out only basis, which was perfect for us because that's exactly what we wanted. They've placed temporary sheet rock walls around the front door, so the space is pretty small for ordering/pickup. We had a pretty large order - 2 sweet and sour chicken, one large egg drop soup, the spicy tuna roll combo and an order of Chinese doughnuts. The spicy tuna rolls were pretty good for being rather inexpensive sushi. The hubs was yelling 'HOT' while he was eating them, so I'm going to assume the advertising as spicy is correct The kiddos enjoyed the sweet and sour chicken and white rice. The not so great part - the egg drop soup was SO salty that we had to add water to cut down the salt. I definitely enjoy salty food, but the soup was nearly inedible. My favorite part of a Chinese doughnut is the sugar. It was a bummer that these only had a little blob of sugar in the middle. They were not coated like I've had previously. No. Just don't. Save yourself a trip. I would give zero stars if I could. The place is just gross. Should've known when it's still all shut down & carry out only. The owner is too cheap to pay a staff so I should've known he's too cheap to serve quality food. The seaweed salad is just nasty. I eat it all the time from elsewhere & know what it should taste like. This seaweed salad tasted rancid. The tofu strips on top were soggy & definitely not fresh. If I don't get food poisoning I'll be shocked. The eel & avocado roll was just OK & definitely needed the eel sauce on top. The roll was also tiny. The food service is very casual but polite and although a lot of small restaurants have their share of great food this place was very mediocre. The sushi was served fresh but the ingredients were definitely not. The salmon and tuna were very pale as if un frozen and sat out for a couple of hours and although the vegetables seemed fresh the sushi was still not up to par. I would compare this with the local sushi you could pick up at your nearest grocery store I've tried several of the dishes and they also lack any authenticity or taste,better fresher ingredients and they might win some people over. Great location! Being from St Louis, I'm very "boujee" when it comes to my Chinese food! This place is awesome. I didn't read the previous reviews but this place is way better than a 3.5. The ambiance reminds me a restaurant nestled in the north side on Greer and Marcus. Nothing fancy but the food is good! I had chicken fried rice and a tiger roll. Only reason they didn't get 5 stars is because i hate peas and carrots in my rice and friend rice comes with no egg!!!!! I will be coming back!!!! Great sushi for the price. We order Mr Hibachi nearly every Friday night. They're quick to deliver, and the food is always hot. We get the Orange Chicken or the Sesame chicken. The shrimp tempura and cream cheese with veggie options are all great. The (imitation) crab is pretty good (I definitely recommend the Bruce Roll!) When you order a vegetable dish (veggie fried rice, veggie noodles or veggie hibachi) it's 90% broccoli and onions- barely any carrots or mushrooms. read more

I've had sushi on both coast of the states and all around the midwest. Mr. HIBACHI isn't the best but it's far from the worst (the reviews I've read here don't add up). In the last 2 or so years the spicy tuna, volcano and spicy salmon rolls are my personal favorite, I highly recommend them. I liked the sushi, and the shrimp. The shrimp and vegetable combo platter smells bad right when you open the container, but weirdly still tastes good. The beef lo mein platter was disgusting, both the noodles and meat. When I called to ask for a refund the lady was really rude to me about it. They will not give you a refund unless there's "something wrong with the food, other than it not tasting good" how does that make sense? Call and order a few rolls or take advantage of their sushi platters. It's all your standard favorites available for pick up. They also carry all the standard Chinese dishes including orange chicken, Gen Tso's, and beef or seafood dishes. We walked out with a sushi platter, two orders of orange chicken, and a Gen Tso's. The platter included three pieces of crab sashimi, a California roll, a Philadelphia roll, a spicy tuna roll, a crab roll, and a custom roll of our choice (we chose the Bruce roll this visit). We also had two orders of crab Rangoon which were the best part of the meal. (Light and flaky wontons loaded with filling.) The meal was adequate, not spectacular. Given the fact there were five sushi rolls, the price was on target. We pay an average of 55 each visit and this is a standard order for our family. I was CRAVING sushi for lunch today. Normally, I would go to Mr. Sushi in Lee's Summit but I wanted to try to find something closer. Kobi didn't open until 4 so I used Yelp to find this place. A takeout sushi place right here in Blue Springs sounded too good to be true - and it was! As for service, the person helping me didn't even answer when I asked how he was. It took longer than I expected to get my order. The environment looks like a traditional Chinese takeout restaurant - dirty. I was still hopeful having got 3 different rolls. Unfortunately, all of them were bad. They were edible and that is about it. I don't think I have ever had sushi that bad before. I actually felt sick the rest of the day. I would give this place three stars if it didn't have the best value around when it comes to sushi. This place is in a strip mall and has terrible soap operas playing on the TV, but their simple and cheap rolls kick ass. Last time I was there, I got a California roll, a salmon-avocado roll, and an eel-avocado roll for around 12 bucks, and it was all QUITE good. And this wasn't on Wednesday or Saturday, when they offer 30% off all sushi. I would stick to the sushi or Hibachi chicken here-- everything else I've had is sub-par. But these dishes knock it out of the park for me. The staff is really great, and they have come to know my order when I walk in the door. Whether this makes them awesome or me kind of pathetic is really up to you. (Disclaimer though: one time, I had a piece of eel that was not cleaned properly and was... spiny? Yep, that's the word. This was promptly dealt with by the staff and has only happened once, but I figured you should know. Otherwise, the fish has been of good quality.) The staff fought over weather it was normal for yogurt to be moldy or not for the first half of my visit. I had to ask them to stop. And I'm surprised that a restaurant would even consider mold on anything to be acceptable. On to the food. The beef in the beef teriyaki was chewy. The eel in the eel avocado roll was chewy.
