I had an issue with Solar Panels blowing my breaker. Johnny looked at photos, analyzed the problem, let me know what was going on and who would be the right person to help me, all complimentary. That kind of honesty and support is rare. Although I needed to go to a solar company in this instance, they will be the first I recommend to friends. read more

I've used Mr. Goodvolt Electric since 2018 though I wish I had known about the services before that. Mr. Goodvolt is my go-to electrician. Johnny (aka Mr. Goodvolt) is a consummate professional - a master electrician with decades of experience, a good communicator, responsive, consistently on time and on schedule, and utterly fair. And I don't know about you, but it seems that's hard to find these days. From start to finish, Mr. Goodvolt Electric is a pleasure to work with. Linda Rose, the office manager, is a pro at scheduling and will keep you informed every step of the way. One of the things I like about Mr. Goodvolt is that Johnny does the work himself, and does not delegate to a more junior team. And he informs you of any issues or concerns he sees regarding electrical work and makes recommendations. So I'm always confident I'm getting top-notch work that complies with all codes and safety requirements. Truly I cannot recommend him enough. If you read the reviews you'll see consistent comments that point to how good he is. Believe them. read more

Johnny is a good guy. Came prepared with the parts he may need in case our motion lights weren't working anymore, so he was able to replace on the spot. He was easy to work with and knows his stuff. Fair price and straight shooter. Def recommended read more

Mr. Goodvolt electric has done many jobs for us over the years. Johnny is the best in the business. He recently did the wiring for our outdoor kitchen and did a phenomenal job. My Dad was an architect and Johnny is the only electrician he ever used because the quality of his work is unparallel. I'd highly recommend Mr. Goodvolt for any job, big or small, it will be done to perfection. read more

I am so glad i contacted Johnny. Johnny is a perfectionist (which is a great thing for an electrician), he really thinks through everything and asks good questions. He completed three jobs for me. The first was replacing 3 bath fans in our bathroom. He ended up recommending a humidity and motion sensing fan in the shower which we now love! The second job was replacing all of our old incandescent bulbs with LEDs. Again, his attention to detail was key. We discussed color temperature and we decided on 2700K. he replaced all of them and it really modernized the look for minimal cost. will also save money over the long run. Finally, he replaced a broken ceiling fan in no time at all. I think this sums it up best, we had a loose toilet paper holder on the wall in the bathroom where he changed the fans and when we went to check out his work, the toilet paper holder had been tightened. My wife and i got a laugh out of this. He is a solid worker that doesn't settle for less than perfection. would hire him again for any electrical needs. read more

I had Johnny come out for an estimate on installing an EV charger. I was so impressed by him and his interest in doing everything the right way. When I told him what another electrician wanted to charge me he was appalled at the quote. It was extremely high and outrageous. While he came only to see what my needs were, it was obvious of how professional he is. While he was here he was kind enough to do several other chores for me and will now be purchasing some new fixtures for my garage as well as installing the EV charger. I write this even before I have received his quote because I can tell a persons character and he is one to be trusted. read more

I would give Johnny aka Mr. Goodvolt 10 stars if I could. After finding him highly recommended on both Yelp and Nextdoor, he quickly responded to my request for a quote to hang 12 pendants in an old tree in our backyard. Upon meeting Johnny, he showed such passion and enthusiasm for the project that I knew he would be an excellent choice (this project was the capstone of a backyard renovation and something I had been wanting to do for years). He also had very helpful suggestions regarding the job, such as replacing the accompanying bulbs with brighter, longer-lasting LED bulbs and wiring the tree to account for growth over time. His quote was transparent and fair. This job was more intensive and difficult than we could have anticipated. Johnny spent hours climbing my tree (which hangs over a hillside) and strategizing with me to make sure the placement of the pendant lights was absolutely perfect. The installation was flawless and he took extra care to hide the wiring so that it can barely be seen. He treated our property like it was his own, and his overwhelmingly positive attitude made him a pleasure to work with. It is evident that this is a calling for Johnny rather than a job, a rare passion that is reflected in his top-notch workmanship. Our friends couldn't stop raving about the lights, which will add a magical quality to our backyard for years to come... all thanks to Johnny! read more

Johnny is a rare find in this town. He's on time, friendly and professional. He's prepared and efficient and he knows his work. I had two items that needed attention and he knocked them out in an hour. Johnny made sure to protect my floor around the area he worked and he was deliberate about wiping his shoes on the mat before entering. He cleaned up like he was never there. Plus he's extremely polite. Here's the best part - his pricing is fair and honest. Before Johnny, I had a guy from Yelp send another guy over who quoted me more than double what I paid Johnny. I suspect they double the price so they can split the loot. Not Johnny. He answers the phone, schedules the appointment, and he's the one that does the work. He does business like a good old fashioned neighborhood tradesman. Anytime I have more work I'm calling Johnny. And if any of my friends or neighbors asks me to refer an electrician, l'm giving them Johnny's number. read more

This is regrettably long overdue... A few months ago I committed to repairing and upgrading the lighting in front of my home. After reading reviews here on Yelp and receiving several neighborhood referrals, I contacted Johnny. He was incredibly responsive, exceedingly flexible with schedule, and though my project was relatively small and not at all an emergency, he really made an effort to fit me in immediately. There were a few different options for addressing the spot light fixture that a landscaper had broken quite some time ago, and Johnny gave me choices to accommodate a range of preference and price, and address the junction box to be sure that the fixture was safe, sustainable and energy-efficient. I appreciated that he wanted to provide me with a superior product and installation and was also mindful of my budget. Cut to, there were some defects with the hardware that he purchased and Johnny really stood behind every aspect of hardware and installation. I was also very particular about the way a few details were managed and he could not have been more kind, understanding, patient and eager to please. Ultimately the job required a return visit and some adjustments and imagine how shocked I was to find Johnny quietly working in front of my home after he drove by without promoting, to be sure the spot was hitting the house in just the right way, and took it upon himself to make the necessary adjustments knowing what I wanted. In total, Johnny was at my home three times. Not because he didn't do the job right but because he wanted to make sure that the job was perfect. He didn't ask for an extra dime. Just wanted to do the right thing. How refreshing! Johnny's workmanship is really top-notch. He is incredibly knowledgeable, hyper focused on detail, accommodating, proactive, responsible, accessible and on a personal note, he's quite a lively, friendly character. I've worked with many tradespeople and subcontractors in the past, and there is absolutely no doubt that moving forward I will never call anyone before I call Johnny for all of my lighting and electric needs. He is a wealth of experience and a total pro. I cannot recommend him highly enough! read more

I contacted Johnny as I had just purchased a new refrigerator and all of a sudden the plug behind the refrigerator did not work which made numerous plugs not work. I called him because of his good reviews. I told him what the problem was and he diagnosed most of the problem right on the phone. This was a Saturday but he still came over. The problem was what he had told me but even worse, My wires were loose, burnt, and disconnected from excessive heat from my old refrigerator. They were sparking and smoking when he took off the plug cover which I was unaware of. If he had not come over when he did, I probably would have had a fire. He fixed all the problems by rewiring it and cutting out the burnt wires. Johnny is extremely aware of all electrical problems and explains it to you and shows you the problem which was appreciated. He is very nice and personable and makes you feel very comfortable that he knows what he is doing and is very trustworthy. I am glad that I found him and whenever I need electrical or lighting help, I definitely will call him. read more

When you want the job done right...hire Johnny! He's been doing electrical work since he was 17, and he loves the field. He's fast, super-knowledgeable, skilled, and very nice. He replaced our ceiling lights, re-wired some sockets, and changed a wired sconce to a plug-in so he wouldn't have to drill holes in our wall. He's the one who came up with clever solutions for problems that came up. Hard to believe he's been doing this for decades, he looks so young! He's definitely our electrician from now on. read more

Why can't all home improvement work go this smoothly? Johnny is a savior. Based off his suggestion, he installed 4 new ceiling lights that makes our house look so much more modern. Johnny Goodvolt was very knowlegeable and honest. He saved me a lot of money by giving a realistic assessment of the job. He did a very clean job protecting all furniture and flooring around his work area, he did an amazing job with over 48 years of experience Johnny is definitely a talent and very knowledgeable electrician, absolutely trustworthy and highly skilled, I have referred him to several of my friends. Very nice gentleman, but.... he fixed 6 of my lights and disconnected 4. Left with more items unfinished and charged for 6 hours of time. I had to hire another electrician who came and undid everything he did in a quarter of the time and a quarter of the price. read more

Johnny Goodvolt is the best in the biz. His work is meticulous, his quotes are fair, and his personality is fantastic. I'm almost sad when he finishes the job because I'll miss him! Even city inspectors are impressed with his work. read more

Really I'd say 2.5 stars. Super fast coming over to give me an estimate, a major plus, but was REALLY expensive and not exactly what wanted. Also he spent a lot of time telling me how messy my attic crawlspace was with the blown-in insulation. When it was a possibility that I'd give him the job he was going to cancel on someone else to do my work. I didn't use him but didn't like that kind of attitude. If he would be so quick to cancel someone else's work to do mine, he'd be just as likely to last minute cancel my work to do someone else's. After I discussed his pricing with my husband I called him to ask him about other options that were potentially more affordable for me and I felt like he was kind of a jerk and he made it super clear that he didn't want my business by being difficult and not giving me a straight answer and saying he'd have to do it hourly to make sure he covered himself on costs. read more

Johnny put recessed lighting in my living room and kitchen. He also installed 2 ceiling fans for us along with some other small odds and ends. Johnny is the best. He is super knowledgeable, works with you to ensure the work is to your liking, works clean and makes sure everything is clean before he leaves, and get the job done on time. He was great with working with my crazy work schedule and got the job done quicker than expected. We have two cats and since he is also a cat guy we knew that the cats would be ok and not too scared during this process. They loved him and are a great judge of character. His prices are competitive and he is very clear with how much each aspect of the job will cost. Pride in his work is an understatement. I cannot say enough good things about mr. Goodvolt and his number will remain in my phone as my regular electrician. read more

Johnny is my go-to electrician. He is so knowledgeable--but beyond his skills, he also has inspiring talent in lighting design. He has incredible recommendations on placement and fixtures. Hi all - just wanted to throw my 2 cents in as well. Johnny P. came out to do a quick job (install digital light timer, recessed can wiring) and he was great. Well done Johnny. Will gladly refer you to my friend and clients read more

Thank you Mr Goodvolt for another great service update for our machines!! Thank you for always making sure of our needs and working with us.

Johnny is now my go-to person! I found him through a lot of strong reviews on Nextdoor. He called back right away (I'm amazed how many people never even call back). He was really straight-forward on what he would do, how much time he anticipated it taking and cost. He was flexible with scheduling and showed up right on time. For the work, everything was done well and at the price and time we expected. It's hard to find good, reliable people and Johnny is definitely one of them. read more

Johnny is the man. Very personable and helpful.A real honest professional, I have never seen an electrician work so hard. My power went out in one of my rooms and he got it done in 58 minutes! He was super fast and respectable. He even taught me how to prevent such instances from happening like counting wattage use for each outlet and what bulbs to use.A very nice hardworking gentleman, an absolute pleasure to have in the house. The man went through every outlet, in my attic, and my crawl space underneath the house. He insured that the job got done. I have been scammed too many times by handymen and other so called "electricians" and Johnny was the real deal. Can't believe it's taken me so long to rave about Johnny/Mr. Goodvolt!   In the middle of my remodel I was getting let down left & right.  Contractors were so busy and charging outrageous prices for what wasn't even good work.  My duplex needed a panel upgrade - a big upgrade.  But the electricians I'd used in the past gave me an outrageous price, didn't seem to understand how to do the upgrade, and gave me zero guarantees on their work.    After contacting Mr. Goodvolt, he called and left me a message that floored me.  Johnny laid out his credentials as a master electrician of 50 years and said he would do my job - and get this - *guaranteed that not only would it pass inspection, but it would pass the first time*!  I've never heard anything like it!  Because he not only said it would pass the first time - there was not the slightest whiff of bullsh*t artist to be found in his voicemail.  I played his message for all of my friends over the next couple of days - it was just *that* different! Johnny did the job, was here for the inspection and it *did* pass on the 1st try.  He did all of his work the right way (oddly rare for electricians!).  He worked with the goofy 90-year-old wiring of the building - wiring that's been subject to a great deal of jackassery between then and now.  Johnny has a great personality and I loved every chance I got to talk to him - but mostly I loved that he left me alone! There's a lot of the remodeling I'm doing myself and am so tired of needy so-called-adult so-called-professionals. My job was as big & miserable a job as a building under 2,000 sq ft. building can provide. Here's hoping I didn't scare him off 'cause I don't ever want to use anyone but Mr. Goodvolt for my electrical needs. read more

Was recommended by my agent and I couldn't be happier! He was already so busy but managed to fit us in for some installations on porch light timers, flood lights, and outdoor plugs. We had a minor issue with our outside outlets. Left a message on a Saturday- a prompt return call on Monday( it wasn't an emergency so didn't expect a return call immediately). Once he looked at the circuit breakers, he saw what the problem was....although we tried to be sure the breakers were off/ on...one wasn't totally turned back on. He checked the outlets we were concerned about, but there really wasn't a repair needed. And did we pay him for his time? OF COURSE- you are paying for the expertise and time of a professional. He deserved it. Will definitely consider consulting him again. read more

I contacted Mr. Goodvolt Electric to inquire about having a whole house fan installed. I was called back and subsequently visited by Mr. Johnny Persinger, who is indeed Mr. Goodvolt himself. Johnny impressed me very much with his knowledge of residential electrical systems and the mix of old equipment at my home. He was confident that he could utilize my existing panel for most of the work needed. He moved about with authority and yet a casualness that comes from forty years of experience and knowing what he is doing. Johnny is also a dog lover. My dog sensed that and just loved Johnny! Johnny definitely made a new friend there, When discussing price, his bid was more reasonable than the other we had been given. Not only was his bid better, his knowledge of the job I wanted done and the type of equipment I was interested in, far exceeded that of the other electrical contractor. So I hired Johnny to do the job. Johnny purchased the needed equipment and dropped it off at my home on a Saturday. The following Monday he started work promptly at 7:30 AM. He laid down plastic sheeting and taped it down to protect the floors and carpet. He then got busy and he works so fast I was really impressed. He told me that due to the attic getting super hot during the day he would work fours on Monday and then four hours on Tuesday. So he worked from 7:30 to 11:30 each day. But wow, how much he got accomplished that first day amazed me. He actually got the whole house fan installed into place as well as did lots of electric circuit stuff in just the first four hours. His attention to the small details and making sure everything is done well and professional looking was very much appreciated. He also cleaned up and left everything spic and span before he left for the4 day. The next day he was promptly starting again at 7:30 AM and he installed a powered gable fan and light and switch inside the attic, and did all the wiring and breaker panel work and other stuff needed. Once again he cleaned everything up spotless. He explained in detail to my wife and I how our new whole house fan system works, and what we need to do to operate it efficiently. It works great and I am very, very pleased. Johnny is a very personable fellow, very polite, and very professional. It was a pleasure having him around the house for two days, and the work he does is top notch. I can wholeheartedly recommend Johnny Persinger and his business, "Mr. Goodvolt Electric". read more

In anticipation of installing a new garage door and opener I discovered some ancient, dangerous-looking wiring in the garage that IMHOP required replacement immediately. Johnny responded within an hour of my call, updated me when he had finished at another client and was on the way. He came the following day, ran a new line to an inside outlet, replaced switches and installed a code-compliant outdoor switch/plug combination. He has a passion for his work. Johnny, aka Mr. Goodvolt, recommended adding an attic fan to our 2 garage. We had him install it this week and couldn't be happier with the results. In fact, we've asked him to come back and replace the solar powered attic fan in our house. The attic fan we purchased has a thermostat. This will help keep the items stored in the garage at a cooler temperature as well make the garage more comfortable when I'm working in the garage. We are very excited to have the house attic fan replaced in order to run the A/C less too. Call Johnny for your attic fan needs and know he'll do a great job for you too. read more
