On 31 October 2019, i entered Mr Fix in Peninsula town Center to request a screen replacement for my Galaxy S7 Edge. The clerk took my deposit and ordered a replacement screen, telling me it would be in the following week. The replacement screen arrived November 6th, and on 7 November i dropped my phone off to have the screen replacement as requested. Mr Fix replaced my screen with the new one, only to discover that i was no longer able to connect to my Cellular provider. As I need my phone for work, having a non-working phone was unacceptable for me. He informed me he would order another screen and put my phone back the way it was until the new screen arrived. He replaced my old cracked screen and told me he would call when the new screen arrived. The following day, i realized that Mr. Fix did NOT put my phone back in working order, and i was unable to make or receive calls or texts using either my Cellular service or Wifi Calling for two days. Several calls to Mr Fix went unanswered (using a different number), so I returned on Saturday, 9 November to receive the final repair. Despite repeated attempts, Mr Fix was unable to restore my phone to the condition it was in when it was given to Mr. Fix, and their only resolution was to refund the deposit I made for the screen. I now find myself with a non-functioning phone, a necessity for my job. I have contacted the local branch, the corporate office, and a Better Business Bureau complaint has been submitted. read more

Needed the battery of my phone changed out, the guy I saw was very nice and told me it would be about an hour as he looked at the phone back in June! I got my phone back and it was working great then it just died! I plugged it up and it would come on then if I unplugged it, it would shut off. Took it back to them to see what was up with it, I was told that I can not drop it or get it hot! I told the guy that it gets hot charging below 15%! He took the phone and said to come back in an hour! I did and my phone was working, it lasted about 3 or 4 days before it was out again. I took it back to Mr. Fixit and saw a different man. Told him what has happened so far. He took the phone and said come back in an hour! I was back and my phone was still in pieces, I was told that the battery was plugged in but now the screen would not come on, It was kept for a few weeks this time. A few weeks had passed before I could get back to see about my phone and why NO ONE had called me being I had to borrow a phone at this point! I was told that they want to send my phone to some one that could better work on my phone. I asked how long is that going to be? I was told a week or so, I was not happy about that but wanted my phone fix! Two weeks later no word, I wanted to see what's up, to be told that he fix it but now it will not start up completely and that they still had it! Still no manager talk just the tech.'s saying "we are working on it". It is September and my phone is not in my hands yet! I am not seeing the tech that first took my phone any more, the guy I am seeing is got three or four phone and a helper working on phones and computers. My phone is back with them and still not up for me to take. The screen is out again and I have had the tech call the manager a few times, He is out of town for "family stuff" and there is no one there in he's or her place until he is back! I come back in a few days, a few times in less then two weeks. The tech says "he is upset that no one is acting on this!" No manager, no calls from manager, the tech gives me back my phone " We can not do any more with this" here it is October and my phone has a black screen and the battery is not working!!! read more

This is regarding the Hampton store. The previous reviewer seems to have had a different experience at the Richmond locations. The name of this place couldn't be more ironic. Instead of Mr. Fix, it should be called Mr. Break because that's what their technician repeatedly did to my phone and is what I'd expect them to do to yours. What brought me to the store was that my iPhone 5s battery wouldn't keep a charge. I had to recharge it twice a day even with minor use. On Monday the 4th of December 2017, I brought it in to the shop to inquire about replacing the battery. Peter the technician told me it would cost $40 so I told him to go ahead and do it. He had me sign a waiver that said they weren't responsible for damage caused to phones in the act of "repairing" them, and the waiver had a couple spelling and grammar errors on it. I asked him about that statement and he explained that, although that was there, he didn't want a bad review so took pride in doing good work. I went with the repair and waited in the store while he swapped it. However, when he was done the TouchID no longer functioned. I pointed it out to him and he gave me attitude like he had nothing to do with the issue and said he'd have to talk with his manager. After he spoke with the manager, he asked if I'd like for him to swap my home button for free. I replied that I wanted the phone to work like it did when I brought it in. He then swapped my home button for one that had dents and a scratch on it. The phone's TouchID still refused to operate. I asked him what the next step was to resolve the issue and he said he didn't know, but continued to play around with my open phone on the desk. I realized he was unable to fix the issue and also didn't know who to ask or where to look to find out how to fix it, so told him I could deal with it and left. Later that afternoon I realized the phone's speaker no longer operated. I couldn't hear when a call came in, couldn't put a call on speakerphone because there was no speaker with which to hear the other party, and couldn't listen to music or online videos. On Tuesday the 5th of Decemeber 2017 around 11AM, I returned to the store and told Peter the speaker was no longer working. He told me it was impossible for a battery swap to have any impact on the speaker so he was not responsible for the issue. However, other than quickly using up the battery charge, the phone was 100% operational when I brought it in the day prior. When I told him it had worked fine before he touched the phone and, if he hadn't caused the issue, it must have been an act of God while the phone was in the store, he said he couldn't have me in the store belligerent and was going outside to smoke a cigarette. In other words, he walked away in the middle of our conversation. I waited for him to return and then again, with attitude, he asked me if I wanted him to swap the speaker for free. I again explained to him that all I wanted was for the phone to operate like it did before I had brought it to Mr. Fix the day prior. Another customer came in and I told him I could come back later for the phone so he could help that customer and I left. I returned at around 5PM and he explained he still wasn't done. So I again left. On Wednesday the 6th of December, I returned at noon. He explained the digitizer wasn't working so he put a new screen on the phone. I tested the microphone with a voice note, played it back, saw that it worked on both the speakers and the headphone jack, tested the volume controls and mute slider, and found they all operated. The digitizer/touch screen wasn't very responsive, but I thought that could be due to the plastic cover over it. So I told him, other than the TouchID no longer working, the phone was back to the way it was when I had brought it in that Monday and left. However, after I left, I continued to have issues with the touch screen/digitizer. I couldn't bring up the number pad to make a call. When I touched the icon, or any icon along the bottom edge of the screen, the phone acted as if nothing had been done. Worse yet, the lightning connector no longer functioned so I now have no way of making a call and no way to even charge the phone. It is now a paperweight. I will not return to the store to let Peter once again "fix" one problem while creating one or more others, as he has done over the past three days. Instead, I will be working with my carrier to swap back over to my old phone and then send my phone to Apple for repair. Save yourself a lot of grief and take your electronics elsewhere! read more

Price was good but after receiving my ipad back after a screen repair I immediately put it in a heavy duty case to insure screen wouldn't break again and min less than two weeks it broke. I called and they said there was nothing they could do. Highly upset I paid for it to be repaired and it's already broke. Parts of the screen are broke off and it wasn't used hard. Goes to show the quality screen they used. Do not recommend at all!! read more

It all starts with me breaking my phone I looked for places to get it fixed it was an iphonexsmax all black, I went to Mr Fix for a front and back repair for a solid 220$ overly expensive for the service. They didn't have black which was fine had white took about 4 hours and fixed the front of the screen wasn't necessarily intact it was poking out a little and it wasn't right. If tried to push it back in the phone would do things and would be annoying had to restart it alot sometimes it would just be black qnd would have to force restart. Now the back is the problem its falling apart i have a good case on it i probably dropped it 2 times after it fixed but the back is completely falling apart piece by piece it still smells like the lazer they used to get the old one off. Im unsatisfied im not a complainer i dont enjoy making reviews or complaining but this is total bs ! I payed 200! I should not have to deal with this at all. This is a very late complaint but at this point i was better of getting a new phone. read more

Brought my daughter's computer here end of day Wednesday due to the setup process continued to loop on me. Was told would be ready next day Thursday if not, definitely Friday. Came Friday after they called and said it was ready, they being Courtney. Wasn't ready because she accidentally downloaded temp software onto the computer and I sat there for a hour or so for them to try and download the correct software. Came Saturday because they said it would be ready again. Still downloading software. Sunday she said come Monday so the master tech could take a look. Still couldn't get it to work. Couldn't admit they weren't able to do something so simple she blamed the drive and it being a "lemon". Brand new computer and I had just opened it. Why keep pretending you could fix it? What Master Tech? Never again. Maybe good with phones but definitely not master anything after that and do not give them your computer if you care anything about it. Wasted my time and money. Both Technicians were very knowledgeable about electronics. My daughters iPad was unable to connect to WiFi and I was unable to accomplish a hard-reset through iTunes. They were able to accomplished the hard-reset and fully prepared to replace/ install the WiFi connector (not sure of proper name). Normally I do not talk bad about any businesses but I paid money to get a screen replaced and they stated they have a 90 day guarantee. I go back and they say its a mother board issue. Sooo you fixed my screen knowing that it wasn't going to work and will not give me my money back? Then tell me i need to pay $100 for them to send it off. I am beyond LIVID. Also your employee should not have told me over the phone that I could come and get a refund. I should have known from the moment I walked through the door how unprofessional the employees were. They were arguing about one employee stepping on the pieces from another customers computer on the floor. Why would you have someone's equipment on the floor that they brought to you to fix? Also when I walked in to get my phone fixed the employee stated that he was notEven done with high school and also he learned everything he knew from YouTube. If anything you guys should have at least given me a refund or a credit towards sending my phone off to get the motherboard fixed.
