It FAILED inspection on Monday Aug 5th for electrical. AC Mechanical has refused to send a tech out to meet the inspector to address these issues. Storm is coming and though I paid nearly 9K almost 6 weeks ago I do not have a functional generator (and I possibly have a SAFETY HAZARD). Spoke with the owner George who takes no responsibility for this situation and says "I can't help what the city does" and "it's not my fault". Contract indicates AC Mechanical handles the installation and inspection (which the generator has FAILED) "not their fault". To add to this already unbelievable service nightmare, the workers as AC MECHANICAL HIT MY CAR causing $4000 worth of damage when they came to install my generator. Yet still they will not fix this problem. DEFINITELY GO WITH JCT ELECTRIC (OR ANYONE BUT AC MECHANICAL) IF YOU'RE LOOKING TO BUY A GENERATOR. THIS IS A NIGHTMARE ! ! ! ! !

After being told I had a 5 years warranty, my $20K Gwenerac needed service 3 times in 16 months and they wanted a minimum sevice fee to inspect. It took me 5 minutes to fix! Summary for AC Mechanical: price high, service poor and product quality average.

If you want to get screwed over, hire Hook and Ladder. I had a problem with birds in my vents. They…read morecame out and they charged me a whopping $210 for each vent. It was hard to justify, but I figured this was a permanent solution to my problem. The guy told me we will never have birds in our vents again. Nope!! Within a year, one of the vent covers fell off because it was not properly attached. I blew it off and didn't want to bother the company, but then we started to smell dead animals because the birds were getting into my vent system. Then another one recently fell off. I called the company and I felt that they should reattach those covers as a good faith gesture, especially since they charged so much.. They admit that their covers are brittle and they said they will charge $250 to come and fix what they did not properly install. Stay away from this company. They charge astronomical prices and install inferior products so that you have to call them back and they can make more money off of you. Manipulation and denial of responsibility at its finest! I will be contacting my attorney and I will make sure that other people do not work with this company.

This is a brand new home, so dealing with repeated garage door issues from the start was already…read morefrustrating. Unfortunately, the experience working with Southern Fireplace made it worse. From the original walkthrough, the main garage door did not close properly. A technician came out and "adjusted the sensors," which temporarily fixed it. A few weeks later, the smaller garage door had the same issue and required another adjustment. Then the problem returned again with the main door. The issue was eventually resolved, but only after three separate visits where they continued tightening and adjusting the sensors. While it did get fixed, it took far too long and did not feel like a thorough or proactive diagnosis, especially for a brand new home. The biggest issue, however, was my interaction with Heather. She stated that if the issue persisted after replacement, any additional work would be billable. Beyond that, her communication was extremely unprofessional. I was repeatedly talked over during the conversation, and at one point she abruptly said she had to go and rushed me off the phone. The tone was dismissive and not customer-focused at all. Frankly, based on this experience, Heather should not be in a customer-facing role. Now, we are dealing with a separate issue with our pilot light. They have already come out once, but given the prior experience, especially the way communication was handled, I have been hesitant to reach out again, even though the home is still under warranty. While the garage door issue was eventually fixed, the overall experience, particularly the lack of professionalism in communication, left a very negative impression. If you have a choice, I would recommend going somewhere else, unless you are comfortable being talked to and treated in a condescending manner by their staff.
