Ordered the Haddock Fish with an order of chips and mushy peas. Fish was great! Chips were decent, not the best, but the fish was definitely the star of the show, cooked to perfection in a light, not overly oil-saturated batter. The kind lady behind the counter let me try a dollop of their gravy (it was wonderful)! Such a gem with good quality food in a no frills package! Great for a quick lunch or dinner as you're walking about and exploring the area. Would definitely come back!

I instead order a battered sausage and some chips. the ambiance was terrible with a thick clammy smell as if there was no airflow for years. Alright food but wouldn't consider going back until they figure out their problems and get their priorities straight and hire new faster less judging eyeing staff who clearly did not like my appearance and hope they figure out what the smell is and that they remove it immediately. really a shame about those because the food was great and five stars just wasn't worth the wait and the smell.

So, Fat Friday rolled back around at work and, on the promise of a consecutive trip to somewhere…read morewith biscuits, I managed to convince the office to partake in a chippy tea with me. Although there's another fish&chip place down the road, it's a drive away, and I fancied a walk. With estate officer and reluctant tea buyer in tow, we wandered down to the Precinct and put in our order at Kingfisher. We had quite a list so the combined look of disinterest and annoyance on the server's faces was to be expected, but they could attempt to cover it up; come on people, thank crunchie it's Friday! Our order was dealt with in due course and they were even so kind as to write down the prices of each individual meal for us (some on the paper and some on our list of orders, but hey ho, we got there in the end!) The smell was delicious and, upon sitting down to my lovely beige meal of meat&potato pie with chips, I was a happy chappy. They had, however, forgotten a can of coke with our order, but we went with making do and mending and just shared the coke we did have out between us; if they had charged for it it would have been a different story I'm sure! The chips were lovely chippy chips, a tad stodgey for me to finish without the opportunity for a nap afterwards but I gave it a good go. The pie had a lovely crust and enough filling to pastry ratio to keep this faux-Northerner happy. A happy chippy tea Friday but service with a smile wouldn't go amiss!

'Fish & Chips' surely has to be one of the greatest British meals ever and it is never difficult to…read morefind a good chippy in any town and city across the UK. I have to say, I think I have found the best in Salford. It is 'Kingfisher Salford' and it is located on Salford Precinct. The quality of the food is incredible. The batter on the fish, which incidentally is cooked fresh in front of you rather than sitting for ages in a warming cabinet, is beautifully light and very crispy. They have an extensive menu to choose from, including all of your favourites from sausages, pies and of course fantastic fish, and even a Full English Breakfast which is served all day too. The restaurant is very clean and the décor is pleasant and there is a very nice seating area inside, and seats are also available outside when the weather is good and you fancy people watching while enjoying your lunch. The staff are very efficient and friendly and even though they are usually very busy, they do know and understand the meaning of 'customer service'. If I had one negative comment it is this.....when you enter, if it is your first time, it is not very clear that you have to order food to sit in further inside the restaurant as the counter near the door is for 'take outs'. This wasn't pointed out to me when I ordered from the first counter and when I mentioned that I'd like to sit in, it was only then that they let me know that I ordered at the wrong counter and that it would be a little bit more expensive to sit in. this I have no problem with, but I think it would be an idea to have a hanging sign or a notice somewhere to make it slightly clearer...........hardly a complaint, more of a pedantic niggle hehehe. 'Kingfisher Salford' is definitely the place to go for a superb lunch or tea.

From the moment I stepped foot into the shop, I was greeted with warm smiles and a delightful aroma of freshly fried fish and chips. The menu at Tib Street Chippy offered a wide variety of options, catering to both traditional and modern tastes. I opted for their classic fish and chips, and I was blown away by the quality and flavour. The fish was perfectly cooked, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The chips were golden and had that ideal combination of fluffy interior and crispy exterior. It was truly a match made in culinary heaven. What impressed me the most, however, was the promptness of the service. Despite the busy evening rush, the staff at Tib Street Chippy managed to deliver my order in record time. They were efficient, ensuring that every customer received their food with minimal wait. The attention to detail and dedication to providing excellent service was evident in every interaction I had with the staff. In conclusion, I highly recommend Tib Street Chippy to anyone craving delicious fish and chips. The exceptional quality of the food, combined with the prompt and attentive service, make it a standout eatery. I can't wait to visit again and indulge in their mouthwatering offerings. Next time I'll try the sausage.
