We are visiting from CA, and I wanted to make sure to try something local. Immediately our friends suggested Latin American food - Mr Cachapa - which is a Venezuelan food truck settled in an industrial area w a seating area. All it is missing is strobe lights because the music and staff are upbeat and friendly! It has an elaborate selection of food based on corn based cachapa, which is made from maize flour and resembles a pancake that is folded topped w aioli and cheese. You can either order it topped already or have the toppings on the side. I ordered this because my palate is more sweet. My hubby has more of a savory palate, so he ordered the arepa style, which reminded me kind of like hash browns, but are corn based and they are cooked on the griddle. It is a lot of food but we couldn't help but try the foods since we are visitors. Terrible service. This place is a food truck in Sweetwater bordering Doral but the customer service is horrible. The food is mediocre and the parking situation is terrible inside a small industrial Park parking lot . The arepas are very small and overpriced. Also, they are not halfway open. This lovely little food truck, is located behind several warehouses in between Dolphin Mall and International Mall. They have around 8 tables, with the cutest wooden seats. They have a fairly small menu, but everything on the menu sounds delicious. We both chose their Cachapa with Picaña. I promise, one Cachapa is enough for two, unless you are famished and ready to take the challenge ha ha ha. The picaña, I don't even know how to describe how delicious it was. So soft, so juicy. It had a LOT of cream on top of the cachapa, so if that is not your cup of tea, ask them to put less. Each picaña cachapa was $15.99, so it's not cheap, but it's really good I promise. I think this truck would be a bit more of a hit if it wasn't located in a hidden area, it's as if you only know because of word of mouth. read more

Ordered the Mr. Grill. It is a large portion that satisfies three to four persons. It is a protein pack with picanha and chorizo this last one that can be swapped for chicken or pork. Has five miniarepas, too. Good flavor, maybe a bit salty, but ok. read more

The service was horrible. Nobody greeted us, we had to order at the counter and watch to get the tables when people left. They charge a mandatory 15% tip without notifying. The table we got was never cleaned. The cachapa was overpriced and not good at all. The arepas had way overcooked meat and just a splash of cheese. A true hidden Venezuelan gem in the heart of Doral. I wish I knew about this place sooner. They have both cachapas and arepas, which are typical dishes of Venezuela. I had a cachapa with cheese and steak (picanha) and man was it good. This corn based pancake folded over cheese and steak topped with sour cream and more cheese will lead you into an abyss of pure happiness. It's a food truck with a good amount of tables and chairs and there is corn hole and Jenga available to play. Everyone was extremely friendly, great service. If you want to have a pretty good idea of what a cachapa tastes like... you definitely need to eat here. The atmosphere of the place was pretty nice, they have some cool games like corn hole and jenga to distract your mind from the delicious smell coming out of the food truck while you wait. The place is outdoors, they do not have lots of space for a big crowd... but other than that, it's pretty chill and the food is worth it. One thing that we agreed on was that the price was a little bit high. It was almost like going to eat at a restaurant for two plates and two drinks. Other than that, the service was good. This magic school bus of a delightful, delicious, discovery while on a fieldtrip for some late munchies while in South Florida from The East Bay in Cali. Half way through the cigar sized exotic that you can only get from Cali and the enjoyment after a day at the beach in Miami and only be made better by a cherry onto this Sun filled day is Savory well marinated, affordable miracle for my mouth. And I tell you no BS when I say I found The potheads potta gold at the end of that smokey rainbow! 100% worth it! I dont if it was because I placed my order after 10pm or if the food is always delivered cold... but my arepas arrived cold and wet. The arepa was lacking flavor but the pork inside was somewhat tasty. The fixins on top were good but the cheese was kind of funky. Not sure if funky cheese is Venezulan or if it went it bad from the heat. I personally wouldnt go here again but you can if you want to. It may be a hit or miss. read more

Went early on a Friday night and was impressed with the crowd that was already there. Had some of the tequeńos and they were excellent some of the best I had, very fresh. Not that pre made stuff you get most other places. Also had a chapaca with pork (pernil). It was awesome, the chapaca was again very fresh and the pork was made in house and was very good. Lastly, the service was exceptional; the chiefs and hosts were all very friendly, polite, and attentive. This place is amazing. I loved the concept. This is the best Cachapa that I've tried since I live in Miami. I've tried many chichas before and this is the best by far. The cheese balls are just perfect. The relation price-quality is more than good. The parrilla combo was a surprise for us, the meat and chorizo were delicious, but also was more than enough for my boyfriend, he couldn't eat it all and that never happen. Don't forget to try the tequeños, they're so tasty. We had leftover so we got a look like recycle, cute and recycle to go box. The owner and the staff were super friendly. I'm in love this place.
