The worst service I have ever had from a Mexican restaurant. They clearly don't pay attention to instructions when making ppls orders. And the girl on the phone was overly rude. Not to mention they send two little salsa cups for 6 tacos, No limes, no napkins and put tomatoes on my tacos when I didn't ask. Then send a corn cup plain. I order from here often but it's ALWAYS something wrong. The food is good but they always find one way or another to mess up your order. Today I called regarding my delivery and was told by a young lady "I just got here". So I'm like oookkkk well find out what happened to my order from someone who was present. She put me on an extremely long hold then came back and asked me was my order right? I said no. That's literally why I am calling. Again she said "Well there's nothing we can do for you and I wasn't here yet." I said well can I speak to a manager and she said there isn't a manager here. I said so yall running a WHOLE restaurant WITHOUT a manager on shift??? She said yes. I said ok you aren't just gonna take my money, I pay a driver for delivery AND tip and you're just going to disregard my special request per YOUR APP then tell me "I wasn't here so?" My order WASN'T right and staff told me basically "Oh well, I still have a job. F- you and your order." And hung up on me Be careful when ordering Giant burritos they only give you ONE SMALL cup of sauce. And don't even honor what kind you ask for... They had a real off day ! I wanted something hearty and tasty. I paid over $40 for 2 dinners. I was disappointed. The Flautas were over cooked and tasted as if the oil they fried them in is OLD. They used what tastes like Miracle Whip and not Mayonnaise. They actually do use corn from the cob not can. Their food used to be on point. I definitely hate I paid so much for my meal. read more

So I've had their quesadillas a few times in the past and they were consistently good until the last time I ordered one. It had been my first time receiving a dry, almost cheese-less quesadilla that looked as if it had been sitting for a few hours and I vowed it would be my last time ordering. I was disappointed when o presented it to the cashier and other staff members and they tried to convince me that there was nothing wrong with it. Lucky for them, I had saved photos of what previous quesadillas looked like in comparison to the one I received. They tried to give me a hard time initially but eventually refunded me. It was annoying because I had been a frequent customer and ordered the same thing every time so I knew how it was normally cooked. I wasn't too crazy about the horchata either. They're not all bad but my one unsatisfactory experience ruined it for me. I don't think I'll return but I'm not discouraging anyone else from doing so. read more

There is a fresh feel to the place. Clean, courteous about decent food. Hubby doesn't care for the chicken but I'm a veg-head so I can't say that concerns me. The dining area is well lit, clean and can accommodate a few small groups. I've never dinned inside but carry-out is best if you can ahead, but there is generally a short wait. The drive-thru is often filled with cars, which is why I call ahead. My food has been correctly made the last few times so I'm thinking the new changes include more attention to ticket calls and food prep. In 2014 I gave a one star review. I constantly found things in my food that I didn't order, mostly meat pieces. Long story short, the atmosphere, service and food are MUCH better! read more

It almost pains me to write this review. My husband and I have been frequenting Mr. Burrito for a little over three years. The service is usually good and the food is ok. Over the last week or so I have been using the drive-through to order the grilled chicken salad. I get extra chicken and I love the way their grill chicken taste. Five days in the row I have been charged a total of 699 for the grill chicken salad plus $1.50 for extra chicken. Today I drove up, ordered and was charged $2.50 for extra chicken. I asked Anieba why was I charged more today then I was the last five days? I proceeded to whip out my receipts. She looked me in my eyes and lied to my face. She explained that every girl that rang me up $1.50 for the chicken was new. Mind you my husband and I have been coming to this place for a little over three years. I asked for a manager and the female manager on duty corroborated her story. I was not offered a discount, I was not offered a refund, of the extra dollar I was charged with an admonishment that the standard price is $2.50 but I will honor the price you paid all week this one last time... they just looked me in my face and lied!!!! There was also a whole lot of snickering going on amongst Anieba and the manager. When I get home and prepare to eat my now very expensive salad, I am shocked!!!! Not only is the chicken bland and half done, there are colossal pieces of green pepper and chunks of iceberg lettuce spewing all over my salad. There was not even enough soft green stuff to resemble an avocado and the onions were omitted all together. I guess they fixed me huh? How dare I demand excellent customer service with unqualified service staff... I'm almost certain this is the last time my husband and I patronize this business...I have one question that I hope Anieba and her manager can answer without a snicker...When he did more expensive start equating to subpar food and service? We are frequent customers, I like their steak burrito suizo with cheese, rice, sour cream, and cilantro. My wife likes their bistek a la Mexicana and their caldo de rez. The ladies who take our orders are awesome, and we know each other so they are definitely nicer than most other places and always pleasant to us. They even ask about our 2 year old daughter, who frequently goes with us to pick up the food. The only issue is I am not a big fan of how they flavor their meat, it tastes good with the burrito but I find it not so good with the tacos and tortas. The burritos are huge and a good value to price, they are hard to finish in one sitting and are very good. They have good fried rice and good hot sauce, too. The Horchata is also very good and the large size is huge. Solid 3 stars for overall food, but pushed to a 4 thanks to the awesome ladies who work there and make getting food there excellent, always! Considering the reviews i was expecting the worse. But it turned out to be better than we expected. the food was cooked fresh and the burritos are GIANT sized. I had steak tacos and steak burrito. The only negative would be that they didn't seem to add any seasoning, so it was on the bland side. Once we added our own salt n pepper at home to "doctor" up the flavor...it was fine. read more

I've had the barbacoa (steamed beef), steak, and al pastor burritos. All very good, and you have two choices in sizes: baby and giant. The chimichanga dinner is oh so glutinous (with side of refried beans n cheese & spanish rice). The giant quesadilla-now THAT'S a quesadilla! 4 large wedges of tortilla filled with thick melted cheese and your choice of meat...being the carnivore that I am, steak is first choice. It comes with sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo on the side. The enchiladas are ok; had chicken and the tortilla fell apart by the ripping current of the sauce. If you're with friends, the Giant Nachos Locos are a great option. Everything is piled onto a bed of crispy tortilla chips. I always get the horchata (sweet iced rice water) when I'm here. A drinkable desert in its own right. Mr. Burritos (their new name) also serves sesos tacos (brain) as well as lengua (tongue) and cabeza (head), if you have the adventurous palate. Still have yet to try the chile relleno, tamale, tacos cited above, and chilaques. Always went through drive thru, experienced fast service, but it looks decent inside. My family and I ate for the first time at the mr burrito location in Chicago heights and I was so disappointed. I paid over $44 dollars to get garbage. We ordered lengua tacos which was really hard and dry. The cachete tacos were ok but we had hardly any meat on our tacos. We also ordered buche tacos with chorizo and I could not even eat this due to the chorizo being burnt, this tasted horrible. I will never return to this place. read more

I've recently started going to this place and I love it. Everything is delicious from the burrito suzio to churros. The taco salad is huge. Plus, I think they have $1.50 tacos on Monday/Tuesday. So if you like authentic Mexican food, go here. It's worth it. read more

I debated over whether to give this review 3 or 4 stars. In the end, I chose 4, but if 3.5 were possible, I would have gone with that. First off, let me start by saying that when I go here, 80% of the time, I will order the 1lb of flank steak cooked. It comes with a side of tortillas and pico de gallo. Sometimes the meat will be really really tough to chew and other times it will almost melt in your mouth. Now, because I LOVE steak, regardless of it being tough or not, that's not a huge issue for me, but I can definitely see it being a deal breaker for some. For instance, my 10 year old daughter isn't a fan. She said it's like chewing "meat flavored gum". Oookkayyyy... But she does like their tacos, which on Mondays and Tuesdays are $1.25 for the beef, chicken and pork ones. A few times I've gotten adventurous and ordered the lengua tacos (not impressed...the meat was very mild and bland. There was no seasoning at all on it), the barbacoa (loved it!! full of flavor and nicely spiced!) and the chicken burrito (nope...not for me! There was so much stuff in there that the balance between hot meat, beans and rice and cold veggies was thrown off and everything ended up becoming a cold sloppy mess by the time I got only 1/4 of the way through the burrito). But I do agree with my daughter that their tacos can't be beat, especially at that price! One thing I noticed is that the chicken tacos have bits of gristle mixed in. I thought it was a one off, but It's happened a couple of times. It hasn't necessarily thrown me off (yet...) but when I order them now, I will open it and check it before taking a bite. I love their guacamole, but hate the fact that you have to pay $1.40 (I think...don't quote me on that!) extra for it because it doesn't come with anything that I usually order. I also like their mild tomatillo sauce because whoever makes this sauce seems to understand that mild doesn't mean bland. I used to love their hot sauce, but lately it seems like it's not hot at all. I don't know if my taste buds are seared or if they have changed the recipe, but someone needs to look into that! So all in all, I give it 3.5 stars. I do like the food, but feel that they need to be a bit more consistent with the quality. Also, the prices are so~so, but because of the taco deals on Mon and Tues, I'll give them a break on that one. read more

I got a groupon and decided to give this place a try since it's right down the street. I was pleasantly surprised. The girl that took my order was very friendly and the food was cooked to order. I had enchiladas a la plancha (with cheese). They came with rice and beans, as well. And they were delicious! Their enchilada sauce was very flavorful and the beans were amazing, nice and smooth, which is what I prefer, as opposed to chunkier. I also had mexican potatoes cooked with tomato and jalapeno. I saved those for the next day and they too, were very good. The green sauce was tasty, haven't tried the red sauce yet, but since I am definitely planning a return trip soon!
