    Water leaking from "diagnostic" visit with Mr. Appliance of Tampa Bay

    On April 23, 2025 a technician came to our house to assess an ice maker which was not working in our refrigerator/freezer unit. The technician pulled out the appliances, ran a diagnostic, pushed in the unit and said he could come back the next day to repair the ice maker. A $250 diagnostic fee/deposit was paid. Soon after the technician left water dripping could be heard and then water began to pour out of the water connection to the fridge/freezer unit. Water went down into the wall under the connection and then proceeded to soak the surrounding baseboard and wood floor. The only person who touched the appliance was the technician who moved the appliance and loosened the water line in doing so. We called the company back immediately when we heard the dripping and were place on hold, told there was no manager available to speak with, and then the phone call was disconnected. We had to go purchase fans to dry the floors and walls. After speaking with the company we were told that they were not going to come out the next day to fix the ice maker as was scheduled due to what happened and that they would only refund the fee from the diagnostic/deposit. Time from work was taken off, damage was caused to our house, and the company declined to come out and fix the original issue after causing this damage. The least they could do is fix the original issue at a reducing price to accommodate the customer after the damage they caused, which took additional time and effort to clean and remediate.

    We had been having our Jennaire Grill/range with the timer sometimes just going off and had to manually turn it off. Then one day it went off and would not shut down. After a couple hours waiting and pushing the stop button, we cut the power to it off. We love our indoor range / grill and use it often. We called Mr Appliance and they sent a technician out in a few hours. Ronald came when we were told he would. They even texted us when he was in route and included a picture of him. Nice. He was very friendly, masked and with shoe coverings. He quickly found that the main circuit board was bad. Since the range is 20 years old, and had seen a lot of pancakes, omelettes, steaks and the like, no surprise. But company no longer makes that model board. He said they would have the board rebuilt for $615. We paid the $99 service fee and decided to shop around. Lol. The closest range we found with a grill was over $6,000! So we called, he came back and removed the board. We were told it would take a couple weeks to be rebuilt. In the meantime we cook use the surface burners but not the grill or oven. Thankfully we have a toaster oven we use more than the big oven. Couple weeks later they called, board was in so they scheduled Ronald to come install. He did, and gave us a $99 credit for service call. We were so happy we grilled steaks for dinner and made pancakes next morning on the flat-top.

    I decided on Appliance Doctor Pro after finding them on Yelp and Google and I truly wish I never…read moreheard or called Appliance Doctor Pro for service. The technician, Ismayil, did not properly diagnose the problem and came to a conclusion after spending 2 minutes behind the refrigerator. He said the problem was low freon. When I inquired how did he come to this conclusion and how do he know if its not something else, he acted as if he could not speak English. He refused to leave the house until he received the $79. for the diagnose fee despite he was not able to fix the problem of low freon because he didn't have any. I called the headquarter office and spoke with Jacob and shared my fears. I paid and he stated he would return later that day. A few hours later, Ismayil returned with freon and added it to the refrigerator. During this time, I noticed as he was adding freon the refrigerator was making loud violent noises which it was not making prior to him working on the refrigerator. I asked him why the system is making this noise and Ismayil response was its the system receiving the freon and it will go away as the refrigerator starts to cool. This was around 5:59 pm. It is now 7:20 am and the refrigerator has not cold to normal operating standards, and in fact is warmer. The system is still making loud noise as well, which it was not during until Ismayil started working on the system. I'm now out of $300+ dollars and most likely will have to but a new refrigerator due to the damage caused by this company. I wish I never called these people. Do not contact them as their staff are unprofessional, rude, poorly trained, incompetent, liars.

    DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!! Worse service ever. I rarely…read moreleave reviews, but this experience has been unacceptable. I paid $445 for a refrigerator repair, and the issue was never fixed. My refrigerator is still not getting cold and the freezer is not freezing, despite the technician stating the problem was resolved. What makes this even worse is the complete lack of communication. I have now had multiple appointments scheduled with a 3 hour service window, and no one showed up. No call. No message. Nothing. I rearranged my day more than once just to sit and wait for a technician who never came. At this point, I feel like I wasted my money and my time. I do not understand how this company has positive reviews on google, when based on my experience they are the worse. I have made multiple attempts to get this resolved, and instead I have been ignored. I am now pursuing further action to recover my money. If you are considering using this company, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
