We searched for the best burger in Columbus, Wisconsin, for lunch and ended up in at MP's Town Tap…read more We were venturing to Columbus because my favorite place, Olive and Herb, moved to Columbus from Sun Prairie, and I needed to stock up on my vintage aged balsamic vinegar. We were greeted with a bunch of happiness. The people running the bar at the time we arrived, were so welcoming and hilarious. I love the cook's sense of humor, as well as anyone else that showed up after we arrived into this establishment. It definitely had a hometown feel vibe. My husband ordered the Ultimate Bloody Mary. It was ultimate, with a grilled cheese sandwich, pickles, onion rings, pearled onions, shrimp, olives, banana pepper, olives, sausage and cheese. That was huge, and a meal within itself. I just ordered a regular Bloody Mary. I knew we were there to have a hamburger. I have to say, that it was a food in a glass, so I did partake in half of the grilled cheese. We ordered our single burgers after a while, but forgot to mention how we wanted them cooked. We like them medium rare, but they turned out just below that and good. My husband estimated them at a half pound burger. It looks like an unassuming burger, and nothing fancy, but a decent, bar burger. We would have ordered extras, such as fries, etc., but that Bloody Mary extras filled us up. We will go back and visit this establishment, if we wander into Columbus, Wisconsin again. It's a nice friendly place to have a decent priced meal. I would give the staff a five star review.

Get there early or you'll end up waiting. Don't drink? Too bad; if you don't get there early, you'll wait. Salad bar (which I love), not here. Muddled old fashioned, not here. Cozy atmosphere and solid customer service, definitely in the right place. We arrived with a veteran couple. They got us there early, understood the ordering routine and found us a place to sit. We ordered appetizers and drinks. Definitely get the onion rings as they are incredible! Drinks were solidly poured and reasonably priced. We ordered and were surprised by how quickly we were seated. The vegetable tray and bread basket were good. Our meals came out shortly after we were seated. The salads were nice sized and the blue cheese dressing with crumbles was great. Our entrees (ribeye, tenderloin with chicken, prime rib and fish) were all sized nicely and prepared as ordered. My dining partner said the chicken was some of their all-time favorite. My ribeye was seasoned well and cooked perfectly. Our dining partners loved their choices. Overall, I'd really like to give 4.5 stars, but my pals at Yelp still don't trust half stars. We all enjoyed our experience and will definitely put this on our list of supper clubs to return to!

This is a nice supper club that is away from downtown and has parking. We were sat in their main…read moredining room but apparently theirs an upstairs I don't know if that is for parties or the public though and then the have a large bar area. The area is very moody lighting and even has small lamps on each table. Our server and staff were great and everything came out timely. We got an old fashioned and a sangria. The sangria is strong but you won't know it until you stand up. We started with the cheese puppies and they had a fantastic pull to them. Some of the best version of cheese curds I've had in a while. My husband and I both had salads and the bowl was too small for the salad but it was a decent salad I do wish the cheese was sprinkled on top as it ended up going to the bottom of the bowl. For an entree I had steak frites. Fries were solid and the cooking of the steak was good with the charcoal but it didn't have much flavor. The chard on the side was also good considering I've never had it. For dessert we had the valentine special chocolate cake and again it was good but nothing super special. We didn't stick around the bar too long but enough to get a winning pull tab. I would come back for the bar tenders they seemed chill.
