MPF Conservation is a full-service GREEN company specializing in conservation, restoration and preservation of furnishings of sofas, chairs, rockers, rocking chairs, loveseats, cabinets, tables, buffets, wardrobes, chests, beds, washstands, teacarts, desks, statues, billows, walls, canopies, tapestries, wall hangings, needlepoint, petitpoint, banners and more. We mix our own historic finishes (shellac varnish and pigmented paints) from scratch. Our specialty is historic upholstery.
Note: We deal with antiquities and do not refinish... There is a difference if you want your historic items to retain their value.
We serve Portland and the West, from Southern California to Canada, and into Montana, Idaho, Nevada, and Arizona.

MPF Conservation provides the following services:
Treatment of Objects and Textiles, to include stabilization and restorative tasks as agreed upon by the curator or owners and MPFC;
Surveys & Assessments: assessments of both objects, collections, and/or environments, with the goal of either treatment or long-range planning;
Documentation, both written and photographic, for Treatment Reports, to add to Collection Information/Display, or toward Slide Shows;
Collection Care;
Research & Writing;
Design, including custom design and reproduction, slipcovers and draperies

Kate Powell has a degree in Architecture, specialties are textile and finish conservation.
Mitchell Powell, degree with specialty experience in wooden objects, upholstery and textiles. He is a PA in the AIC.
