I rarely complain about a service company, but I feel I need to share my experience with MPE Services--an experience that still haunts me like an unfriendly ghost. I had used MPE for years to service my HVAC unit, and during a routine annual maintenance request, my system was working perfectly. Not a hiccup, not a rattle--just smooth, quiet air like a well-behaved appliance should be. I was told annual servicing helps keep the warranty active, so I scheduled it. They quoted me a price, then offered a discounted combined price for an additional year of service, which I prepaid. Easy, right? Oh, if only. When they arrived, they informed me they found a faulty fan. This was news to me, considering the fan was working just fine before they touched it. But okay--I agreed. The part was under warranty, and I paid the labor and service fee. After replacing the fan, the unit immediately began making a much louder noise--like it suddenly decided to audition for a metal band--and then the entire system quit working. Dead. Silent. Except for my wallet about to cry softly in the background. I called them back, and after a second look, they said I now needed a new valve part... a very expensive valve. They also "adjusted" the fan to reduce the noise, which was kind of like putting a band-aid on a broken leg: appreciated, but not useful. So, to recap: they serviced my perfectly good unit, and I ended up with a broken unit, a big repair estimate, or the option to buy a brand-new system from them. Amazing upsell strategy, if nothing else. At this point, I'd had enough and called another company. These new folks discovered that someone had pinched a wiring harness when the side cover was opened and closed--basically creating problems out of thin air. They also told me the fan was installed improperly and incorrectly adjusted. As in... the fix needed fixing. They got it working again, though at a significant cost. At this point, all I wanted was distance between me and MPE--preferably several zip codes' worth. But of course, the saga wasn't over. This week MPE called, cheerfully wanting to schedule the next prepaid maintenance visit. I explained everything that happened. They seemed entirely unfazed, as if I had just told them my favorite color instead of detailing the HVAC equivalent of a horror movie. I asked for my money back for the prepaid service, and they refused. So, here I am, sharing my little HVAC adventure so no one else has to go through the same chain of chaos these folks put me through. 2 workers came to repair a plumbing leak and said if I changed out the regular pvc pipes to the expanding upgraded flex pvc it wouldnt leak again, on the security camera you can see one of the guys stood around outside texting on his phone. the 2 pipes they charged us $695 for a $300 job !!! They sat in their van an hour and 15 minutes and billed us for that, they waited until we came home from work instead of billing us through the mail like most local plumbing companies do. I will never use this company ever again. UPDATE: the work they did only lasted one winter season, the same pipes leaked again after winter so the expensive flex PVC did not solve the problem, so the upsell was not worth it. LOVE their electrical team. I would give them five stars. However, their plumbing team charged me $900 to not fix an issue at my master bath sink and to install a bathroom cabinet/sink combo in my powder room, including the faucet. Spent a lot of time figuring out how to install the faucet, then broke it without telling us. The first time I went to use it, the handle came off in my hand. Never use them for plumbing. read more

We called MPE to repair (4) four outdoor water faucets that were falling off of our brick home. Cole was sent out to do the job and what an excellent job he did! The communication within this company is impressive. We were called that morning to inform us that Cole would be out shortly. We then received an email with a picture of Cole (which impressed me regarding security of whom to expect) stating his ETA of arrival. He was on time and super polite and professional. He explained what he was going to do, then explained the work he did and even showed us what he had done. He then asked if we had any questions!! Cole is an asset to this company and I wish there were more Coles in this world!! read more

We needed some electrical work done at our house, so MPE came out and gave us an estimate. Estimate was good, we went with it. Two electricians came out about 3 weeks later to do the work. They were extremely polite, nice gentlemen. I believe one of them was in training. The work they did was awesome! We had 3 jobs for them to do and each one of them was flawless. Superb job done and they cleaned up so well you couldn't even tell they were there. The best part was, the job didn't take as long as they estimated, so it cost us $450 less than the estimate. Had the unfortunate Hot water heater breakdown on the weekend. If this should happen to you go to the Marriot and rent the penthouse and eat steak and lobster. It will be cheaper than having them come out. The Tech didn't diagnose the problem, just started changing heating elements and thermostats. needless to say they were not the problem. it was a 12 dollar breaker, do yourself a favor and avoid this company. read more

Never do business with these guys. Their plumber improperply installed a water heater in my house, and flooded my house for the second time in a month and a half ruining my brand new floors. I was able to get the plumber to come out, and he did admit it was their fault but ever since then I have been able to get no help from this company. They said they would send their insurance agent out, I heard nothing. I started trying to call their mainline, and no matter what time of day I call, the owner is ALWAYS "busy" and will always "call me back", which he never does. I have now not had hot water in my house for 9 days, because I can't even hire someone to come fix the problem until their insurance agent, who has never contacted me, comes out. We got home tonight, on Sunday, after working 12 hours and the temp in our house was 80 degrees. My husband and I like to keep our house at 65. Our animals even looked miserable. We called several local HVAC services that advertised they offered 24/7. We were told they couldn't come because they didn't put it in. But we called MPE and this gentleman said he could come now. We were so thankful, he's been gone 10 minutes and our house is already cooling down! What a blessing. He was even nice to our pups! His name was Keith!! read more
