In my opinion, don't use this guy unless you just don't like yourself…read more Corey came to our home and was paid $600.00 to install a new gas line from our existing gas line to our new stove but ripped us off instead. A few months later we tried to light the pilot light on our fireplace as it was one of the first cold nights but for the first time it would not light. Upon inspection we found that the logs had been disconnected and it appears that he connected that line to the stove. We contacted him and he blamed an alleged person that he claimed he fired. He said he would be out Monday to correct. I took off work but he never showed up and now will not answer calls, text or Venmo request to return our money. He has now blocked the line we were contacting him from as well. Upon further inspection of the stove, there is no shut off valve behind the stove or anywhere between the stove and the line that runs Under the house. The flex line above the floor is not long enough to pull the stove out enough to get behind the stove, much less clean under/behind it. He also cut a hole in my floor bigger that the size of the nut on the line and left the sawdust for me to clean up. Given how long the wait is to get someone to install a gas right now, we will likely spend the winter without the ability to enjoy out fireplace and only hope that we are fortunate enough not to lose power as that would mean that we would not have our fireplace as our backup for heating. This is Theft of Services. If there are others like my family who have been ripped off, perhaps we should join together to go after this guy. I am sure there are others.

They sat in their van an hour and 15 minutes and billed us for that, they waited until we came home from work instead of billing us through the mail like most local plumbing companies do. I will never use this company ever again. UPDATE: the work they did only lasted one winter season, the same pipes leaked again after winter so the expensive flex PVC did not solve the problem, so the upsell was not worth it. I rarely complain about a service company, but I feel I need to share my experience with MPE…read moreServices--an experience that still haunts me like an unfriendly ghost. I had used MPE for years to service my HVAC unit, and during a routine annual maintenance request, my system was working perfectly. Not a hiccup, not a rattle--just smooth, quiet air like a well-behaved appliance should be. I was told annual servicing helps keep the warranty active, so I scheduled it. They quoted me a price, then offered a discounted combined price for an additional year of service, which I prepaid. Easy, right? Oh, if only. When they arrived, they informed me they found a faulty fan. This was news to me, considering the fan was working just fine before they touched it. But okay--I agreed. The part was under warranty, and I paid the labor and service fee. After replacing the fan, the unit immediately began making a much louder noise--like it suddenly decided to audition for a metal band--and then the entire system quit working. Dead. Silent. Except for my wallet about to cry softly in the background. I called them back, and after a second look, they said I now needed a new valve part... a very expensive valve. They also "adjusted" the fan to reduce the noise, which was kind of like putting a band-aid on a broken leg: appreciated, but not useful. So, to recap: they serviced my perfectly good unit, and I ended up with a broken unit, a big repair estimate, or the option to buy a brand-new system from them. Amazing upsell strategy, if nothing else. At this point, I'd had enough and called another company. These new folks discovered that someone had pinched a wiring harness when the side cover was opened and closed--basically creating problems out of thin air. They also told me the fan was installed improperly and incorrectly adjusted. As in... the fix needed fixing. They got it working again, though at a significant cost. At this point, all I wanted was distance between me and MPE--preferably several zip codes' worth. But of course, the saga wasn't over. This week MPE called, cheerfully wanting to schedule the next prepaid maintenance visit. I explained everything that happened. They seemed entirely unfazed, as if I had just told them my favorite color instead of detailing the HVAC equivalent of a horror movie. I asked for my money back for the prepaid service, and they refused. So, here I am, sharing my little HVAC adventure so no one else has to go through the same chain of chaos these folks put me through. If my story saves even one functioning fan from a tragic fate, it will have been worth it.

The…read moreurgency is always high when you're dealing with plumbing issues, and these guys have the same urgency I do even though it's not "their problem." They always get a crew over to me quickly; the longest I've ever had to wait was one day, and that issue was not as urgent as others I've had. I've had different crews of 2 come out each time, and they have all been equally as amazing. One guy even overheard me mention one of my showers was draining slow, so he snaked it and fixed the issue while his partner was addressing my primary issue. The last time I called them to come out, one guy even went through my unfinished crawlspace to make sure the water damage I'd seen was not affecting anything structurally. No matter what, I know they will always do far more than what is expected of them. They don't care if it's "not their job" or if the issue is different from why I called them, Crouch & Sons will always go the extra mile. Like any service professional, they charge by the hour for their work. If you expect them to not charge anything after scheduling your request & sending a crew to your address, simply because they could not help or it was a "quick fix," you don't know how the service industry works. If any labor/service professional comes out to look at a problem, the minimum you're going to pay is the rate for one hour's work. Exhaust every alternative first, and then if you need the advice of a plumber, you're going to pay for their knowledge! They are never out to take your money, so anytime it's been a quick answer to my problem, they will try to do any smaller tasks that I may need while they're here. I will NEVER use anyone other than Crouch & Sons for my plumbing needs. They have been beyond amazing to work with, and I can be stress-free knowing that I have their support for any plumbing issues that may arise.

ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. ZERO COMMUNICATION. ZERO PROFESSIONAL OVERSIGHT…read more If you're considering hiring this company, ask yourself one question: Do you want to pay a contractor and then end up managing their job yourself? That is exactly what happened to me. I was quoted for a straightforward sewer line installation from my house to the City sewer connection. Before the work even started, they scheduled the job four different times and never showed up. Every time, I rearranged my professional schedule, rescheduled therapy clients, and paid for doggie daycare ($40 each time) because I was told they were coming. The salesperson specifically told me I did not need to be home during the installation. I relied on that statement and went to a doctor's appointment. When I returned, I found the plumbers had installed the sewer line on the wrong side of my house. I had to tell them to call their supervisor. The supervisor admitted the installation was wrong. Think about that. The customer had to identify a major installation error that the professionals failed to catch. The job I was promised would take 1-2 days took 4 days because of their mistake. Then the problems continued. When the crew reached the City connection, there was a cracked City sewer line. Instead of resolving the issue, I was told the City wasn't going to repair it. I had to personally step in, speak with the City inspector, and push until the City repaired its own damaged line. Again, I was the one solving problems that the contractor should have been managing. I did not hire this company to supervise plumbers, catch installation mistakes, coordinate with City inspectors, or ensure the project was completed correctly. That was the company's job. Before I was billed, I asked for the owner to call me. Megan assured me they would "make it right" and that the owner would adjust the bill. Three weeks passed. No call. I finally had to call the owner myself. His response? "We fixed it, didn't we?" When I explained that correcting mistakes after the fact does not erase the delays, wasted time, additional expenses, disruption to my business, or stress caused by those mistakes, he dismissed my concerns as "nit-picky." Then came the final insult. The invoice reflected the original quoted price for the simple installation I was promised, despite the repeated no-shows, the incorrect installation, the four-day delay, and the fact that I had to repeatedly intervene to keep the project on track. A company's character isn't shown when everything goes right. It's shown by how it responds when it goes wrong. Based on my experience, this company expected me to absorb the inconvenience, the lost time, the added expenses, and the stress while accepting "We fixed it" as the only explanation. That is not the level of professionalism, accountability, or customer service I expect from a contractor, and it is not an experience I would ever choose to repeat.
