One of the things I especially appreciate about Dr. Moy is that he stays up to date with the most current approaches to dentistry and he always includes me in decisions about my treatment plan. Recently, I needed to have a crown replaced as it was beginning to fail. (original injury was a broken tooth as a child, crown had last been replaced 30 years ago). I was thankful that Dr. Moy and team were on the case. While going through the process to replace the crown, Dr. Moy identified an issue in the root structure of the tooth and the surrounding tissue. This required a root canal in addition to the crown replacement, but the tissue surrounding the root needed to heal first. We worked together to monitor and remedy the situation. Throughout the process to remedy the situation, after each step of the treatment plan, the team at Moy Dental would either call or text to see how I was doing. Because of Dr. Moy's experience and expertise, we were able to save the tooth and now I have a new permanent crown. Further back in our history, we worked together to correct a bite issue I was having that was causing me pain. Invisalign Braces, which was a new approach to orthodontia at the time, was the solution for me. This was important to me to have invisible braces as I felt more confident in my work environment with Invisalign vs. traditional braces. Bad professional practice. I told Dr. Moy and staff to only do work and service that was covered by my insurance and nothing more. They went beyond the service I asked them to do, stating it was covered and it was not. Second the service I received was mediocre...first time a temporary crown and filling came out and I had issues scheduling it to get fixed. I paid for the charges, they went over, and now they are charging the same amount in finance charges. Very corrupt and insincere practice. I don't usually give or post reviews. However, the Moy Team are very caring, friendly and supportive family. I was given a quote prior to the service I was going to receive. I'm the type of person...let me know what I need to pay prior to my appointment if my insurance is not going to cover it. I'm not going to get into details, however there was a mistake with what I was told. Long story short. Erica and Karen were both wonderful. They made me feel at ease while they corrected the mistakes. Great customer service can be done without having to be a difficult customer. Patience is the key along with communication. I went in as a first time patient to Moy Dental with a referral and I hate the dentist, not in a mean hate but more so anxiety is not friends with it. I needed to have my wisdom tooth pulled. He is meticulous, professional, creative and steadfast. I went to Dr. Moy for 25 years and commuted for 90 miles one way to continue to see him when I moved out of the East Bay, until I no longer do so. I started going to Dr. Moy after I received a Groupon two years ago. I was a little leery of going to a new dentist because I had a bad experience in the past from a dentist that performed work that I didn't need but Dr. Moy was very reassuring. As a matter of fact, the entire staff gets an A+ for friendliness and customer service. My first three visits were teeth cleanings and the most recent one was for a filling. Dr. Moy thoroughly explained to me some of the problem areas, the work he was going to perform and why it was necessary. It was very reassuring when he showed me on the monitor as well. I have been seeing Dr. Moy for about four years. As someone with PTSD, finding a dentist that can assist me without causing me distress has been difficult. A few of my teeth had some cold sensitivity. When I went in for my cleaning, Dr. Moy and his staff had told me that the roots of some of my teeth were more exposed and more bacteria was accumulating in these areas. They were the first of all my dentists in 26 years to show me how to actually floss properly, and though I was flossing every day, I wasn't doing it right! They took the time to educate me on what was going on with my teeth and how I can improve my dental hygiene to prevent things from getting worse in the future. I have been seeing Dr. Moy and his wonderful "family" of office staff and hygienists for several years. I don't know where to begin in praising this group of incredible , competent, compassionate human beings!!! Dr, Moy is by far the the best dentist I have had in my lifetime, and I am almost 70 years old. I have no dental insurance----(Medicare neatly left that out)---Dr, Moy's fees are about 25% less than my previous dentists, and he is a perfectionist in all work he does. He will go back in and re-do anything that you are not satisfied with with no charge, and will do what needs to be done to make you satisfied. More importantly, it is a feeling you get a soon as you walk in that the office is not run in a hierarchical manner--everyone answers the phone, everyone pitches in to make the office safe and comfortable, particularly now. The COVID precautions are excellent. I have had major work done there since COVID began and have always felt very safe there. If you are in search of a wonderful dentist (actually there is a second dentist working there as well and she is also wonderful. Her name is Dr. Sandra Guereca.) I had work done by Dr Stephen Moy more than five years ago...it's an experience I'd prefer to forget... he filled a deep upper molar in the far back of my mouth....# 18, II believe..what showed up on the x-ray later that there was just as deep a cavity on the tooth in the lower jaw that met this upper molar in chewing...problem is, he chose to go ahead and work on the upper molar....I paid him more than $2000 he then advised me of the condition of the lower tooth......I was referred to Dr Ross' office, who did a full mouth x ray....the lower molar needed to be extracted...(it was rotten to the core:(I asked to see it ) I subsequently had an implant done on both these two teeth : the upper and lower...in other words, he did laborious work on a tooth, opposite a lower tooth that he knew full well at the time was badly decayed......perhaps "Dr. Moy is a better dentist now, but I'd never take a chance on a what was then a truly mediocre dentist again when there are first rate dentists....nearby--- Dr. Chen, for example, at Nice Teeth...or Dr Ross...(who does first rate work also)).. and reasonable prices...II think Dr. Moy's skills may have improved in the subsequent years....and I'm sure he can do good basic work, (fill cavities), but as far as more advanced work--such as bridges and so on..
